How the heck are you???
It's taken me an hour to catch up on the posts!! HOLY COW!! Ya'll are talkers!! Now that work has slowed, we only have 4 condos rented this week, and depending upon Ernesto, we may or may not be at full capacity next weekend (our final hooray!) I may be able to keep up with you guys now. DH's father is still hanging in there. We just returned from the nursing facility where he is residing. Boy, has life changed drastically in the last 3 months!! And,,, speaking of travel plans...........
This past Friday was my b'day. I knew DH had a few plans up his sleeve,, but never could get a grasp on what was going on. Welllllll,,, let me tell you,, that hubby of mine completely, 100% totally surprised me with a trip to our favorite island off the Yucatan Peninsula, Isla Majueres. And,,,, since we not only live together, but work together we are pretty much officially attached at the waist 24/7 which means surprising each other is not only down right difficult, but almost impossible to do!!
I'm a huge Hootie and the Blowfish groupie!! Two weekends ago (Aug, 12th) they were playing in PrincessHaileysMom's neck of the woods, at Chastain Park. Needless to say, I was there front and center. I honestly thought we were only going to be in Atlanta for the weekend. A little Hootie, a little shopping, a little time alone and away from the mad house of work and hospital visits. But,,,, instead of returning home the day after the concert,,, my wonderful, incredible husband
drove to the Hot 'Lanta airport instead of Alabama. With a complete dumbfound look on my face, he handed my passport to me while he opened the back of the truck where he had packed two large suitcases with my summer wardrobe. I was ordered to quickly grab the pieces I needed and reshuffle the luggage to accommodate the new carry on rules
and we took off for international flight check-in.
(for those wondering - NO you do not need to arrive 3 hours prior to boarding - we walked right thru everything - check-in, security, etc - it was a breeze, which meant we spent 2 hours doing nothing but hanging out in the gangway!! - oh,, and the whole liquid, gel thing - I like to keep my mascara with me,,, since I sleep on the plane - due to an intense amount of Dramamine I digest, I always apply some before I get off - and chapstick/lisptick too - anyway, I took them out of my carry on and placed them in my pant's pockets. Since they were not made of metal, I did not trip the detector,, and after my carry on went thru the x-ray, I put them back in the bag - no worries.)
Anway,,, I spent that next week lying on the beach, drinking & eating until my heart & belly was content, lying on the beach, eating and drinking - you get the picture! It was awesome!!
DH made arrangements for a private chef one night, the rose petals on the bed, masseuse - etc. it was perfecto,,,, oh, and on top of everything,, he actually packed EVERYTHING that I needed!! HE ROCKED!! Sooo, does that mean he knows me to well, or is he just toooo sneaky!!
I hope you guys had a terrific summer!! Shout out to the newbies on the board - boy, Dis Nurse sure can attrack them!!
Barkley, your single, childless cruise is going to rock! C&D&F, if I send you all of my Nov. cruise stuff will you create my memory book for me - make that alll the photos from the past 5 years?? AWOLTODAY,,, you will always be my one and only stalker
Whatever happened to the firefighter from NY?????????????? What is his disboard name?? Dang, it,, my memory has faded - now, I'm another year older!!!
