WOW i am glad to see the thread has gotten off it's butt and moved again! For awhile there it was just crawling along at a snail's pace. But sure it has to all happen when i am not around here. I am doing my best to try and do things for myself these days since i have neglected that for so long. Taking care of Emily this past year has aged me. She seems to be settling in a bit FINALLY, this past week i have only gotten THREE calls a day instead of about 6. Most of them are not even sob fests which is good cause after those calls i feel like such an ogre for sending her away.

My vote goes for taking the train (love train rides) -- seems to me the price is great-- and spending as a long as possible in the house of the mouse. Even a short holiday is fun, when i went 2 years ago i was afraid it would be just a tease but it still filled up that "hole" Just requires some incredible planning to make sure you get to do things that are most important to you.

Gotta run John is working from home today and we are going out for COFFEE. yippee a mid-day date even

I think we might do the train now but maybe at Xmas. I got a deal for Disney Visa holders that included free dining!!!!!!! So im working on my sister to do it thne - Ive never seen disney at Xmas - woo hoo!!!

You could always take the kids to HP for the day and then go somewhere else cheaper and more family friendly like Lancaster or Strasburg and they can see real trains and stay in train cars at The Redcaboose motel. Given the chance I would go to WDW on the train. That why they get to experience something different and you don't have to drive!

We love Hershey..Sure, Disney is better, but Hershey is the cleanest/most friendly of the parks around here. i'm not sure I would drive as far as you would be to go, though...aren't Busch Gardens and Kings Domimion much closer? As for hotels..there's a nice Comfort Inn about 5 min. away...indoor pool, great breakfast included, and much cheaper that Hotel Hershey and Hershey Lodge.

Oh my goodness it's FRIDAY! Cake is done, boxed and on it's way to mom's store, Dad just picked it up. The whole process turned out to be a blessing after all. I baked the cake yesterday morning (no big deal) and then this am made the icing (only time consuming but still no big deal) Em came down just as I was starting the real work and sat down to watch me "Mom can I try?" SO my little girl decorated the WHOLE CAKE for me! I was so happy since the little bit i had tried before she came and rescued me was all a mess since my hands shake really badly due to one of my many meds. So we had fun.

She is going back tonight to what she actually called HOME! She has made a great bunch of friends now and they are going to a club -- she is old enough to drink even though she doesn't -- we are thrilled cause we were so looking forward to getting to experience the "empty nest syndrome" We have decided to be heathens and not go to church this weekend so we can truly just be US!

Good job, and great that you got Em's help. Looks like we won't be empty nesters for a while. Have fun with your heathen weekend. We had one last weekend, but that's because I was sick, and DH was in a bad way.
