Forgot to post my Jersey week reservation:

Called 11 months out-- actually called a day early (Nov 30). Original c/in was going to be 10/31. Since I was on the phone, I decided to just make the reservation starting on 10/30. The 30th was available so I booked it. At this point, I wasn't sure if we were going to start the trip on Friday or Saturday since we definitely want to be there for MNSSHP.

Ok...got VWL studio for 4 nights starting December 12th. May change to a 1 bedroom once I find the total number who will be coming to cheer DDiL on in the 1/2 maraton next January. IF I have points after booking that, then this will be changed to a 1 bedroom. I figured that the studio would be harder to get so I booked it now.

I agree Bevis. Christmas and New Years may be interesting but I still feel that part of the success so far over Thanksgiving and early December may be due to a reduction in bookings due to the economy not necessarily because the new reservation system is so great and fair. So we may see less demand for the Christmas/New Years holiday because of economic issues. It seems that anyone you talk to these days is making adjustments in their lives to deal with the troubled ecomomy; vacations being a major one.

There is also a post in the planning section I believe that references the success that members are having in booking certain types of reservations some of which they have not been able to do before or have had to do day-by-day in the past.

So booking success in this day and age may not be an indication as to whether the new system would be widely successful for members under previous and better economic conditions where demand might be much greater.

I called Sunday Jan 11 and availability was there for a BVW Standard Studio for December 11 - 18. However, I did not have quite enough points for the 7 days and did not want to borrow, so I booked Dec 11 - 16; then was able to call back on Jan 12 and drop Dec 11 and add on the nights of 16 and 17.

So we have a 6 night trip booked; hoping it won't be too busy that week. We were there Dec 7 - 13 this year and it was pretty crowded.
