Need blender recommendations please.

We love our Vitamix, plus it's made in the USA! We got it as a TSV on QVC, well worth the price.

Vitamix has two containers. one for wet blending and the other for dry. The dry is used to grind any grains. ( IE you can turn whole wheat into flour.)

I recommend checking out YouTube on your fav blenders for some comparisons. Some are better at crushing ice, but not so good for whole fruit.

Love the idea of square blades for cleaning safety.

Sadly they are not bulletproof...

I used to own a Vitamix until DH "accidentally" threw out the base (!!!!!)

I didn't want to shell out a ton of money again, so went with a Ninja (think it was around $40 at Walmart).

LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It blends & chops effortlessly. I think I actually love it more than I did my Vitamix because of the ease of cleaning. Having the motor on top and the removable blades makes clean-up SO easy - no more having to try to wash around the blades.

I've used a Vitamix and they're great, but I have a food processor and stand mixer that are pricey and didn't feel I needed another expensive appliance. Also, the container is big and kind of overkill for most of what I'd do with it. I eyed the Ninja Mega 1500W system for a long time, but then I sort of realized that I didn't need a lot of the functions because I have the other appliances. Actually, I have 2 food processors, which is already overkill, but great for holidays. I finally got the Nutri Ninja 1100W because I was tired of cleaning out the blender vessel and having to reach into it to clean around the blades. I decided that even without all the other containers, just the blend and go cups would be worth it. With a sale and coupons I got it for $90, which was less than Costco had a 1000W model the same week. I've been really happy with it. I've added seeds, nuts, ice, chocolate chips and cookie wafers to drinks and it's handled them. It also handles apple slices, kale, spinach, blueberries and peeled lemon wedges. Those are all things that would have remained chunky in my other blender. I know a few people with Magic Bullets and there's no contest, the Ninja wins. And it's so much easier to clean than my other blender, the food processor or the stand mixer. The only 2 negatives I've experienced are that the "single serving" cups are so big they're almost impossible to drink out of so I end up transferring to another to go cup. Even the booklet says the smaller one actually makes 2 servings. And the minimum amount of liquid that you need for it to blend is more than my larger capacity blender and food processor. I few times I've made more of something than I needed and froze the extra.

The best out there are by far Vitamix and Blendtec...nothing even remotely comes close when you consider durability. If you don't want to spend that much, get a Ninja. The model Costco sells is good. It won't last for years and years like a Vitamix, but it's also a lot cheaper. We chose a Vitamix over Blendtec because mechanical switches are much more durable than the electronic control panel that Blendtec has. They are both excellent choices, however. And, Ninja is also a good choice for a budget blender.

I have the Ninja Mega Kitchen. I use it at least 10 times a week. It works great. I think I paid $160.

I went "fiddle in the middle," not cheap but not real expensive either. I read tons of reviews and ended up going with the Oster Versa 1100 series. It comes with big pitcher, smaller pitcher, food processor and two smoothies cups. My girls make smoothies several times a week with it. So nice because you just unscrew the blade, pop on the top and go. I've used the blender part for soups and it's great for that. My experience has always been with cheapy blenders and because of that I never bothered to pull them out. This one sits on the counter and gets used all the time.

My dd got this MODEL after reading reviews on CNET.

Yes, most of the reviews I read were in comparison to the Ninja system and it just kept coming out on top for my needs. I've never kept a blender on the countertop before, this one has its own spot.
