I've used a Vitamix and they're great, but I have a food processor and stand mixer that are pricey and didn't feel I needed another expensive appliance. Also, the container is big and kind of overkill for most of what I'd do with it. I eyed the Ninja Mega 1500W system for a long time, but then I sort of realized that I didn't need a lot of the functions because I have the other appliances. Actually, I have 2 food processors, which is already overkill, but great for holidays. I finally got the Nutri Ninja 1100W because I was tired of cleaning out the blender vessel and having to reach into it to clean around the blades. I decided that even without all the other containers, just the blend and go cups would be worth it. With a sale and coupons I got it for $90, which was less than Costco had a 1000W model the same week. I've been really happy with it. I've added seeds, nuts, ice, chocolate chips and cookie wafers to drinks and it's handled them. It also handles apple slices, kale, spinach, blueberries and peeled lemon wedges. Those are all things that would have remained chunky in my other blender. I know a few people with Magic Bullets and there's no contest, the Ninja wins. And it's so much easier to clean than my other blender, the food processor or the stand mixer. The only 2 negatives I've experienced are that the "single serving" cups are so big they're almost impossible to drink out of so I end up transferring to another to go cup. Even the booklet says the smaller one actually makes 2 servings. And the minimum amount of liquid that you need for it to blend is more than my larger capacity blender and food processor. I few times I've made more of something than I needed and froze the extra.
