ya notice its mainly the women names that go out of style![]()
I have a 3-year old in my preschool class named Florence. It's not a name I've heard in the younger generation. My neighbors have a nephew named Stanley. Also not a name I've heard for little guys like him.
Okay - Wallace, Marty, Theodore, George, Albert, Bill, Dick, Warren, Fred, Barney.
Will the names we think sound pretty today be ugly in 50 years?Definitely. Helen was one that immediately came to mind.. maybe because it is my grandmother's name.I know several young people named Gretchen
Helen
Mable
Agatha
Mildred
I love Olive and Lola. Dorcas though, is that pronounced like DORK-US?My ex husband's family had a plethora of old and odd names. They were Olive, Lola, Esther, Inez and Dorcas.
Not too long ago Olivia, Sophia, Helen, Emma, Emily and some other now-popular names would have been listed here.
Some of our friends just named their daughter Alice Maxine.

Another good one!Esther
