I have a 3-year old in my preschool class named Florence. It's not a name I've heard in the younger generation. My neighbors have a nephew named Stanley. Also not a name I've heard for little guys like him.

Three female names that come to mind are:
Viola - My mother's middle name
Margaret or Marguerite - My aunt's name
Doris - My aunt's name
Louise - My husband's grandmother's middle name
Three male names:
Morris - My father-in-law's name
Frank - Uncle's name
How about Dick for a guy? Nowdays if a guy is Richard he is Richard or Rick.
Some of the names are just so awful for old people. I have an Aunt Bertha, I always felt so sorry for her having to have that name. Although will the Mildreds and Berthas of today be the Ashleys and Emilys of tomorrow? Will the names we think sound pretty today be ugly in 50 years?
Someone beat me to my dad's Clarence.
Franklin
Herbert
Harold
Elmer
George

With the ladies
Alot of the ones mentioned, I don't associate with being old school (like old farm days where families helped on the farm--Wonderful LIfe days)
The above I associate with those days along with
Ethel
Bertha
Dorcus (still amazing to me that someone named their child that back then)
Winifred
Jeanette
Lois
Gladys is often associated with "old." But I'd like to see it make a comeback.
In another 30 years my name, "Lisa", is going to be the old name. There sure are going to be a lot of us. Watch out for an army of Lisa's at the retirement community!
