Mickeystoontown's Gang hits the Bahamas & WDW! Who gets choked or stuck this time?

That's great you got to add a day and got a good rate too! Way to go John!:cool1:

Sorry you spilled the beans about Lacey and Jesse but at least now you can talk about it.

I have a cruise question. Did y'all get passports? I was reading it was best to get them in case of emergency but it would cost around $600.00 for us to get them.

I'm not Lisa , but we went to the Bahamas on a cruise in November, and we did not get passports.. I had ZERO trouble...We did not get them b/c of the extra expense.

 Love your stories!! Aww...too bad about spilling the beans but it sounds like there was really no way around it.;) But, don't feel bad...I have a terrible time keeping any secret when it comes to Disney.:)

Thanks! I certainly didn't mean to spill the beans but I wasn't paying attention to what I was saying and out it slipped.

We did not get Passports. I was told that if you are leaving from a port within the United States and coming back to that same port, then you would not have to have passports. I got new certified copies of our birth certificates last Friday to take with us.

That's great you got to add a day and got a good rate too! Way to go John!:cool1:

I can live with the fact that we aren't going to a new resort since we are getting an extra day out of the deal.

Yeah, I didn't mean to spill the beans but it's out there now and there's nothing I can do about it.

First off - CONGRATULATIONS on the extra day!!! Does John often come up with such stellar ideas? Who knows....maybe next year he'll tell you to book an extra 2 days!

I hate to say it but I took a look at the "Super Moon' the other night and was underwhelmed. If I hadn't read about it being so big I never would have known by just looking at it. Looked the same size as it always does for a full moon.

Rather than buying a new tripod for Hunter's telescope can't you have John jury-rig some kind of home-made tripod?

Thank you! We are all excited about that extra day. Sometimes, John does come up with some pretty good ideas such as the extra day which worked out fabulously. Sometimes, the good ideas turn into a whole it's-gonna-take-an-entire-weekend-to-complete-this-fiasco-of-an-idea-out thing. :lmao:

I think if you had a one legged telescope like we had you would have gotten a much better view of the moon. :rotfl2:

Oh yeah, John's already come up with an idea of how the telescope will be mounted on a so-and-so board that will tilt this way and that and stand on more stable legs. It'll probably be the size of a huge windmill by the time he gets through with it.

I agree with the others- you guys really do have the best conversations!

I can't believe how close your trip is getting!

How are things working out with Hunter's school trip to NYC or shouldn't I ask? Still far down on the waiting list?

I can't believe how quickly this trip is coming up. I count not just the days until a trip but also the weekends. Since I work, I do most of my errand running on the weekend. I have just two weekends before we leave. :cool1:

Unfortunately, Hunter ended up being number 2, yes number 2 on the waiting list and didn't get to go to NYC. I felt so bad for him. He and numbers 1 and 3 on the waiting list are all friends so they've vowed that they are going to find a club, group, etc. at High School that's going to NYC and they'll be the top 3 on the list of those who are going.

Don't feel too badly for Hunter though 'cause we told him that we'd give him $400 of the money that we had saved up for the trip and he could do whatever he wanted to with it. The trip would have cost $1,400 plus spending money and I had it saved up but there's no way I was giving him all of that money.

I have a cruise question. Did y'all get passports? I was reading it was best to get them in case of emergency but it would cost around $600.00 for us to get them.

We went on a cruise to the Bahamas in May 2010 and I had a passport, but my husband did not. I agree with Lisa....if you are leaving from a US port and returning to the same US port, you should have no trouble. We had no issues at all. Have a fun vacation! :goodvibes

I just caught up with your PTR and I'm LOVING IT! Your family is so much fun! I'm sure you guys are going to love the cruise. I've read almost all your TRs, Lurked around most of them, so when I saw this I had to check it out and it did not disappoint. Too bad Mama decided to cancel. :( She's such a sweet little lady! I can't see where you get it from. :thumbsup2 Also your conversations with John are hilarious. Keep um comin'.

THE GIG IS UP AND ALL SURPRISES HAVE BEEN REVEALED! OR HAVE THEY?

Over the course of less than a week, secrets have been revealed. I've told John about moving us from All Stars Music to Port Orleans Riverside. Surprise #1 down the drain. But, that secret had to be told because of us adding an extra day to the trip.

I accidentally spilled the beans when I slipped up and mentioned that we could do laundry while visiting with Lacey and Jesse on the night of their arrival. Surprise #2 swish swashed down the drain too.

It has now been confirmed that Lacey's loose lips have blabbered to Jesse that they are now staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort the whole time. Surprise #3 gurgled it's way down behind #1 and #2 (oooh that sounds gross if you think about #1 and #2 going down the drain.....:rotfl:)

What the heck?!?! I wanted a surprise in there somewhere and they had all vanished into thin loose lip air. :(

What to do? What to do? :confused3 I didn't know but I wished that I did. I was thinking about that when I opened up an email this morning that said:

DESTINATION IMAGINATION
COME LAUGH AND PLAY IN ORLANDO

Today, Lisa, you are invited to come beyond the stage at La Nouba.

You will soar on wings of imagination, rise with song and see the impossible come to life. Dancers will take you to the edge of dreams. You’ll balance on the fine line between what is real and what is beyond belief.

Let’s live it up! Now through June 22, 2012, see how far imagination can take you and enjoy performances of La Nouba at Downtown Disney with an exclusive 25% off select performances.*

That's right ladies and gents, you're reading an email from Cirque du Soliel La Nouba in Walt Disney World that was directed to little ol' me! Notice that 25% off select performances language? What's a girl to do besides click on the link they provided and see what those "select perfomances" were?

Click I did and ta-da :wizard: there were three days that I could select from that were within our travel dates. One of them just happened to be the date we were going to the Animal Kingdom.

I said to myself: Self, why can't you change up your plans for that day? Ya'll are already planning on leaving the Animal Kingdom before closing and going to eat at Boma. I don't see why the Boma ADR couldn't be canceled and ya'll go to see Cirque du Soliel that evening. We can just all eat at Downtown Disney before going to see the show. Self, you are one smart cookie!

After patting myself on the back, I started looking at the Disney site to see if there were any Downtown Disney restaurants with availability and there were several. Good. Now, let's see about what kind of seats we would get at Cirque du Soliel. Not so good. All of them were pretty far off to the right hand side of the stage and way down front. That wouldn't work. I put those tickets back into the system and clicked continue again so that the search engine would look for more seats. Those same seats came up again.

That's when I started talking to myself again: Lisa, see that little "these seats will be held for you for 9:59 seconds" wording at the top of the screen? Why not hold those seats, open another page, look for more seats and see what comes up? Good thinking! :thumbsup2

The next set of seats popped up and they were directly behind those "not so good seats". I opened another page and pulled up another set of tickets. Still not great. When my fourth page opened, there were the seats I was looking for. I hit continue and then went back and closed the other pages and put those not so good seats tickets back into rotation.

Oops, wait a minute, should I spend $355 without asking Mr. Sweetie Britches? I mean, that's a chunk of change. Guess what happened then? Just guess! My phone rang and it was John! :hyper: Get out! He was calling to tell me that they had gotten off work early today because the shipment of wood hadn't come in and he was going home to work on the shelves we had been painting on.

I told him about the Cirque du Soliel ticket discount, how I could change up our schedule and then how much it would cost. I told him that I was, literally, on the clock and that we had just 6 minutes 2 seconds to make up our minds.

John: That's a lot of money but it's a lot less than we usually spend on Cirque tickets. All of the secrets have already been busted out. This could be mine and your secret from Hunter, Lacey and Jesse. They would pee their pants wouldn't they?

Me: You know they would.

John: Do it!

Me: Really?

John: Yep, really. Hurry up before those el primo tickets are gone.

Me: I'm jumping on those tickets like a hobo on a muffin.

John: Oh and call me back so we can talk about where we want to eat. I don't want to starve to death that night. Otherwise I may just have to fight that hobo for his muffin.

Me: I will. Love you.

John: Love you too Sweetie Britches.

My fingers were flying over the keys because I had about 3 minutes left before the tickets went back into public circulation. Fill in name here, plug in address there, review your seats here, confirm price, enter credit card info and bada bing bada boom....we had tickets to see Cirque du Soliel! :woohoo:

Wanna see where our seats are?

seatingChart.png

We are in the blue section of 205, second row up from the Category 1 seats with our five seats being on the right hand side but not on the end. They weren't the best of the best seats but we've been to Cirque three other times and have found that there really aren't any bad seats. Having said that, I know that some folks who have sat down in what are supposed to be the fantastic front and center seats (I'm talking about you Brook) said they wished they had been further back and higher up in the theater.

So, now we have a new secret and I am keeping my lips closed tight on this one. There will be no blabbing out this secret. Only John and I will know all the way up to the time we leave our dinner reservation. Speaking of which, I made a 7:00 p.m. reservation at the House of Blues. We have never eaten there and I figured there would be something there that everybody would enjoy and it's right next to Cirque du Soliel so we won't have to rush to get across Downtown Disney.

We're just going to tell the rest of our bunch that we figured since Lacey and Jesse wouldn't get to spend any time at Downtown Disney, we dropped the Boma reservation and made one at the House of Blues so that Jesse could see what Downtown Disney was like. When dinner's over, we whip out the Cirque Du Soliel tickets and hand them their Depends undergarments 'cause they are going to pee their pants. :lmao:

I'm so excited to have a S-E-C-R-E-T! :cool1:

Congratulations on adding the extra day at the beginning of the trip. (Sorry - I'm a little slow. I know this is old news). They really don't do anything the last week of school so what's an extra day. Yah for such a good rate at CBR. That's awesome!

I didn't realize the first hotel you stay in is haunted. Interesting.

Oops on the open mouth, insert foot. That stuff happens to me all the time.

Well, your trip is betting really close now so good luck with all the packing.

I love your conversations! You are one quick thinker! Opening all those windows to try to get better seats. We've never seen La Nouba. Maybe when the kids get older. Glad you get to have a surprise on your trip!

Hi Lisa! Yay for the Cirque du Soliel tickets!!!! Hopefully you and John can keep this secret!!! :rotfl:

When John suggested adding another day to the trip, I was all over it. I figured that they won't be doing much those last few days of school and his grades are good enough that he won't have to take any finals.

I didn't know that the hotel was haunted but I've had confirmation from not one but two readers.

I've got all my stuff stacked up in the corner of our room and will soon be working on John and Hunter's. :thumbsup2

Working in the legal field, I've become pretty good at going this way and then that way and underneath if I have to get what I want. It's the tricks of the trade. ;) If you ever get the chance to go to La Nouba, do it! It's fantastic and there simply aren't words for it.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for another secret. That is absolutely awesome!

I just had to have a secret and the email came at the perfect time. :bitelip:

Hi Lisa! Yay for the Cirque du Soliel tickets!!!! Hopefully you and John can keep this secret!!! :rotfl:

First off, everybody look at those two little precious babies in her signature. Aren't they adorable?

I'm sure that we can keep this secret since it's a pretty big one. At least I hope so.

Aww...thanks Lisa! I actually should update that picture since the baby has grown! LOL!

As long as you don't have any emergency medical issues there should be no problem not having a passport. However if someone needed to be flown due to a medical emergency a passport would be required. At least that's what our travel agent told us last cruise.

Getting caught up, that's great you get to add on an extra day! Too bad you won't get to stay at POR but I would have done the same thing to get that great price!

Sorry all your planned surprises went down the tubes but at least now you have a new one, and a great one, too!
