Good morning, chilly and foggy out, but calling for sun and 64. Frost advisory for tonight.

I had to call the outdoor place Monday as I went to start the riding mower and it wouldn't start, no matter what I did. They came and got it and checked it all out. It was the battery. Apparently the batteries they were putting in them the last few years * I mean as in when they were made and came from the factory*, had an issue. The place told me they've replaced 300 of them over the last 2 years. Mine is on it's third season from being new, and it didn't have the voltage it needed to start the mower. Even though it checked good on the power bank I let the guy use when he came to get it. He loaded it on the truck and took it to the shop.
They called me Tuesday saying it was ready, and I went there to make sure for myself that it started. They replaced it with a bigger battery and changed all the cables and everything. Did a full electrical check. I started and shut it off 3x to make sure it started.

Yesterday I heard a truck in the driveway and when I looked out a huge truck was parked there with some giant machine that I guess was a mower and vacuum, and my little tractor sitting behind it. The guy started it right up and drove it backwards down the ramps. $232 my baby is back in the shed where she belongs. They said it was a good idea that I had been taking the battery out in the winter and putting it in the cellar on a trickle charger every now and then, or it wouldn't have made it through as much of the summer as it did.

I texted Summer last night to see if they made it there and back safely, since she never let me know. She said she was still in Ohio, and staying in the hotel overnight again and heading home today. That she was too tired to drive home yesterday. I don't get it, she had money for 2 nights in a hotel, meals for 2 days, and gas to run around, but not enough money to rent a car. Boggles my mind.
sometimes.

I have to run to the store this morning. I bought soda at Martins yesterday because it was b3g3 6 packs, and when I got home I found out that I only had 5 out of the 6 packs. I have to bring in my receipt and they'll replace the missing one.

Have a good day

I had to replace my front tires and my battery on my John Deere this past summer. It was my 6th year with the battery. I'm almost guaranteed I won't get more than 2-3 years out of the new one.

Same pretty much goes for the car ones. There used to be longer periods on new batteries. Now you are looking at 3 years in a lot of cases. (Doesn't apply to my hybrid) We do have ICE vehicles here as well, with the normal type battery.

Picked up my car yesterday afternoon. Very happy with the results! Took my DD's car over this morning for detailing and will make an appointment for mine for next week just before my trip.

Oh and found a small tool left in my car and returned it. The guy was extremely grateful especially as it was an expensive tool.
