Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

I think it may be the hustle bustle of school starting next week. Today was not good for me. I ended up taking a Prozac and 1/2 of a xanax. It seems like some of us have had the blues lately that have taken time away from the DIS because we don't want to "dump" on each other.

I think once school starts and we settle back into our routines that the thread will pick up again. Meanwhile, let's just remind each other even if it's just to say hi.

You know I'm here for you Julie, if you need to talk.

Julie, You really can dump here anytime! Please don't feel alone in this. We all go through rough times! If you need someone to talk to I'm here too, just pm me.

I didn't realize that school starts so soon for some of you! Alexis doesn't go until the 18th or 19th, I think! Have to go check that.

Bethany, Wow did you have a busy day! POC now that's a hamburger! You do seem to have an affinity for burgers.;)

NOT. Gonna. Happen!

And of all the clique threads on these boards, only a few are based solely on LOCATION. That right there is something special. :goodvibes

I think rie'smom is right. I am blessed to get 6+ weeks off for the summer, and I tend to squander the mid-portion of it and then when I realize I'm running out of time, I go "oh dear!" (well, it's not quite THAT word :rolleyes1) and scramble to get my summer to-do list done. And that to-do list starts growing in September so it tends to be a BIG LIST. Additionally, there's always anxiety and nerves starting up a school year. How you act as a teacher the first few days and weeks sets the tone for the following 9-10 months. If you biff, you pay for it for a LONG TIME. :scared: Not to mention, this year I'm in a new state, school, and job title. :scared:

Rie'smom - I'm sorry you're dealing with so much right now. Don't feel bad to come here for support when you need it.

You know I'm here for you Julie, if you need to talk.

Thanks y'all for the support. It really does mean the world to me.The xanax is the lowest dose and I take half but I'm still loopy from it.

Yes Bethany, I said we!!!!!!!:cool1:

How cool would a group trip be to WDW? I don't care where we stay-pitching tents in the parking lot would be ok with me:dance3:. Rie said she isn't interested in a trip for a few years but I don't feel the that way.

So it was 102 degrees today in Seattle...hottest temp there EVER. My brother is going to the library because it has air conditioning. :lmao: Most people there don't have a/c. :scared:

Well we have a mini-mini-group going in Oct. Kat 17-21 (I think) Me 15th-22nd, Lori/BeadPirate will also be there just that weekend I think.

But you can't convince me to go anywhere & pitch a tent! I am not a tent-pitching girl.

Hi gang...sorry I have been incognito this week. I am in Jackson and have been really busy with that and hanging with a few friends here.

 to all those who need one.

WE WILL NOT LET THIS THREAD DIE!!!! ;)

First things first:

1.:hug::hug: to all who need extra thoughts, well wishes, better health and prayers

2. WHAT:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: are you talking about?????? This thread DIE-NOOOOOO!!!!! You will be my home away from home!!!! NO to thread death, NO.

3.
I still haven't been to POC, we need to do something about that!!!!!!;)

me neither! And i LOVE a good juicy bad for me burger!!! with cheese too!

4. Space Center Houston: 2 thoughts on it-half educational and half very big loud Chuck E Cheese. Part of me felt like the government has to dumb things down for kids to enjoy space and science. I mean, we had a blast of a day, but it was wierd how half was COMPLETELY immersing you in history and awesome facts and educating kids without knowing it(something I enjoy!) and half was play areas. I did not pay $55 for my kids to play in the ball pit or slide. I had it in my head , almost, to forbid the "play ground", but they did burn off energy. Not that they needed too.

I do think they took some of Disney ideas on crowd control, but line control was another thing-and it was hot, and I have a feeling that we experienced a bit of what we will in September in WDW. Lines, heat. At least WDW has the line control down for as little complaining by people as possible. Hot people standing in line for an hour makes for complaining by some inpatient customers!!! The heat index was 108, accding to the space center.

It has been more quiet, but NO thread death!!!!

Lori

Mornin'. I'm still waking up so I'll check in later when I'm thinking straight.

Good morning:goodvibes

:grouphug:to everyone on this thread.

Julie and Cara, I hope ya'll have a better day than yesterday. Please feel to talk about whatever you're feeling. You won't bring me down.

It is very quiet around here this morning. The dogs are laying around and the teenagers are still sleeping.

I will be in WDW from September 24 - 28 celebrating our 20th wedding annivesary. We are going with another couple who are also celebrating their 20th:)

If anyone has any suggestions for Food and Wine Festival, I'll take them. I've never been before for this.

BTW, my daughter is not happy about us going to WDW without her. My friend who is going with us, told her kids it was just the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival she was going to and they were okay with that. That line is not working with Erica.

We were going to surprise them, as part of their Christmas present, with a trip to Disneyland for Mardi Gras, but I might have to tell her sooner than that.

Thanks Mary. My stomach and throat hurt so maybe yesterday's blues were because I was starting to get sick.

I am trying to think of someone who would come with me to the Food and Wine Festival but most everybody works and those that don't have kids in school. The only person that I can think of is my housekeeper. She might like it. The dang Disney site is still not working.

Morning Y'all,
It's storming over here right now.

That makes me happy! :goodvibes

Well sounds like a Nola Meet at POC is necessary!

We haven't been to the Space Center in years. Angelina was much younger. I don't remember a ball pit (ick, I hate those things) but I do remember her enjoying it. Maybe I just blocked out the memory of the ball pit?

Mary, A just adults trip for F&W is great! I can honestly say that during the F&W fest, we hardly go anywhere but Epcot. We make sure we catch Wishes & when I'm feeling good we head to HS for me to ride RR & TT, DH to see Lights Motor Action.

If you haven't checked out the WDW F&W site here's the link:

this is the festival guide http://wdw2.wdpromedia.com/media/wd...oodWine2009/FoodandWine_2009FestivalGuide.pdf

I'm sorry you are getting sick. If my DH wasn't tagging along;), I'd go with you.

Thanks...I made it using a map and some photo editing software. ;)

I want to use it as my avatar but the file size is too big. I need to figure out how to make it smaller.

Oh you're good! I was going to suggest using it for that, but I didn't know if you wanted to give up Piglet.
