MDE App Update & Recent “Refresh” Changes Discussion (we’re not doomed!)

Had this a bunch today while in the park. Sucked.
Dang. I am SO glad my last parks day was Friday. We had great success with using refresh for 4th and beyond fastpasses, even for headliners.

I booked a bounceback, but if this does end up being a confirmed change, I will cancel.

I think there are plenty of examples of Disney charging for things that were once included, but I'm not aware of any examples of Disney intentionally making something bad to get guests to select a paid option. Feel free to share if you have any.

Many people feel like EMH has been steadily getting worse and cite the rise of EMM and DAH as reasons why.

We have a trip coming up in 6 weeks. Our fastpasses are all booked and it won't let me book any additional for today because of our trip, so I'm glad some of you are able to work on this and troubleshoot for the rest of us. I appreciate you all and your efforts immensely!! :thanks:

That is an example of Disney charging for something that was once included possibly, but they didn't break EMH and make it bad so you would want the $ alternative instead. It's not like they took away the rides being offered or said you can ride but while you ride we are going to have the lights on and be cleaning. They didn't intentionally make the EMH experience bad so you would pay for something better, which is what some people are suggesting is going on here.

Um - to the bolded, I would actually enjoy that. ;)

3 hr after hours time was never included for free. Many, many years ago they did have an option of paying extra for I believe it was 2 or 3 hrs for onsite guests, but we’re talking decades ago and there was a charge. I remember doing them back in 1987.

At the risk of going way OT, they absolutely wrecked PM EMH. It’s 2 hours instead of 3, there’s way too many good neighbor hotels included now, and it generally starts earlier than it did in it’s hey day, thus having large crowds till the end now. People repeatedly begged to bring back e ticket nights and they essentially did with DAH.
