Disney XD, Disney Jr and La Chaine Disney shutting down in Canada

It is my devastatingly sad duty to confirm that Disney networks in Canada that are under license by Corus are shutting down on September 1. Disney Channel will remain on air in Canada… although only in English at the moment.

In my eyes the reason why Disney Junior and Disney XD are shutting down in Canada is because Canada has a weak TV market. Because unlike American TV networks Canadian TV has always been trying to attract a smart audience and for some reason Canadian TV networks always want to draw in big numbers. And in children's Canadian TV and Cable Networks you have Cartoon Network Canada Nickelodeon Canada and Teletoon. And what I think will happen to Disney Junior Disney XD and La Chaine in Canada is that Disney will launch an all-French language Disney Channel for Canada and the Disney Junior Canadian lineup will move to Disney+ Canada while Disney XD Canada will also be featured in Disney+ Canada. But I wouldn't be surprised if Disney Channel Canada will be the next to go

Even Teletoon got Americanized and now it’s Cartoon Network Canada now. The concern with the loss of such content now is that those rural Canadians who depend majority on cable for entertainment will now have even less to choose from. Remember that Starlink is cancelled so many parts of Canada will be unable to see many of these programs for a while longer in those areas where any internet is hard to come by (save for a few hours of Jr on the main Disney Channel).
