ROFR Thread July to Sept 2025 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

Is the second post in this thread supposed to be updated periodically? I didn't see my PVB entry in there, I used the tool and I'm pretty sure I did it right?

My first one! I'm in no rush to finish ROFR bc the contract doesn't close for 7 months, but I liked the price, use year and size and these specifically are for a 2027 trip to be banked/borrowed every few years so I figured why wait. However now I want other points to use now!

That is a very long time to wait. Huge gamble imo.

I've seen a few similar stripped BLT contracts (with some more points) that also can't close until after the holidays - I'm sure they've got to get through their confirmed Christmas/New Years reservations they rented out and feel like they can't get away with anymore. The delayed closing, no points until 2027 - just couldn't do it. The few minutes I toyed with it, I was like, hmmm, well maybe if they'd accept a $100 pp offer. Then, figured, nope, not wasting my time.

Right the only way waiting that long makes sense is if it was waaay below market value.

If the contract is stripped and delayed for rental purposes that person is saavy and would likely cancel to make more money because that is their goal… profit.

I agree with @VGCgroupie's thoughts. If it were me, I would have insisted that they at least paid for 2025 dues and I'd probably ask for a credit for 2026 dues and/or have tried to get them to come down more on the price point. Ultimately, if you feel good about it, don't let anonymous people like us on the internet rain on your happiness, but just a few thoughts for you to think about, especially if you're still in your 10 days right of rescission.

I figured it was a price I would be happy with, and my plans for these points regardless were going to be wait to use them until 2027, so why wait. Is it common for people to cancel if they can get a better price?

It’s not commonly said that’s it’s happened but it not common to have delayed closings especially such long delays.

In the end obviously you are the only one that knows if it’s worth it to you. But I just wanted to put out there why I wouldn’t do it and what could potentially happen. If you are happy that’s all that matters. I would’ve wanted to be told of all the potential downsides when I was buying so I could make an informed decision

Hopefully I did the math right! 18720 for points, 595 for closing and 8.02*125 =20318, unless i did my math wrong!
