The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Owners & Lovers Group - 3.0

I’m looking at Fathers Day weekend next year… I have the urge to walk…. but I am fighting it….no need on a 2BD…

Looks like we'll just miss you! We were going back and forth on our dates. But we finally decided on this...

Thursday, June 11th - Drive to Denver, Colorado.
Friday 12th = Drive to Cedar City, Utah
Saturday 13th = Arrive at the Grand Cal
Sunday 14th - Thursday 18th = Visit the parks (Our 20th anniversary is the 17th!)
Friday 19th = Check out and start the drive home

Decided to take the advice of you guys here that said said Sunday would be a good park day. Last Summer our park days were Tuesday-Saturday so this will be a decent comparison, I think. The plan is to make this same trip again in June 2027 too. We're weird and actually enjoy the drive.

I kind of wish we could add another day in Anaheim where we could sleep in, do laundry, spend time at the pool, and visit our wedding chapel in Orange. But I need to do the math to see if that's possible or not. I don't want to run out of points and not be able to stay in a 1-bedroom in 2027.

Of course, the problem with adding a break day in the middle is that it means we miss out on a lower crowd day, but that's okay. We go often enough that it's not a huge deal.

We’ll waive to you as we arrive and you are pulling out!

If only there was a mechanism to not run out of points…. some way of making a phone call and having them magically appear…

Ive been doing this. Normally it's by the internet not by phone call. Twice it happened by phone call so it can be done! I just gave them a bunch of money and magically I got more points!

Are you talking about buying direct points or getting one-time-use points?

Well, we probably don't need 5 FULL park days. So maybe we'll just do 4 full days and 1 half day. Maybe spend the first part of one day visiting our chapel (it's only 15 minutes away) and visiting VDH.

We take an afternoon break each day so we can swim during that time if we want. I wonder how hard it is to get a chair in the afternoons though. So far, we've only used the pool in February and there were only 3 or 4 other people there at the time.

I can't remember why we didn't end up using the pool last summer. Seems weird that we didn't, now that I'm thinking about it.

Ive only done the VGC pool once but it was in September, there was almost all chairs available midday.

We were there in June and the attendant found us three chairs with shade rather quickly and this was in the afternoon around 2ish

Edit: sorry this was VGC. Didn’t look for chairs at VDH as DS said it was borrowing (well I guess Siri knows I’m a borrower lol it was supposed to say boring)

Thanks, good to know! It would likely be around 2 or maybe 3ish, I imagine. It's my dream to some day rent one of the cabanas but not until I think my son would actually want to hang out at the pool for several hours. Typically, he's kind of over it within an hour.
