Hi Guys!

Well this must be the week of offices closing and layoffs. My office is closing up at the end of the month...but I am now going to work from my home again! Yes! So starting Monday, I am going to make the change over.

I am going to help out my MIL during the day more now. She is almost 83 and is getting more and more forgetful. This week she lost her teeth. I looked for about 30 minutes and couldn't find them. My wife went over the house and she found in them in fridge. :rotfl:

Anyways...got to go and start clearing out my stuff.

Aw, thanks RF :flower3: Good for you, still losing, even after a rough week! :goodvibes Last week was frustrating because a gained, even though I was doing everything I was supposed to :headache: -- but this week I lost that all and then some! So I am down 15.6 lbs so far :goodvibes

Sea, glad to hear working from home will be good for you :thumbsup2 The MIL story is too funny, but oh sheesh, I can relate. So glad that even though I couldn't move my folks out here to CA, now they are in a really nice seniors apartment with people to help them ::yes::

Here are some good vibes that it is wonderful in September and the "H" words are gone.

I am going to check out garage sales. Thanks for the tip. There are also used children's clothing consignment sales here. They are HUGE. Duck, Duck, Goose and Rhea Lana. I am going to those as well. I won an auction last night that I got 100 books for less the $1.00 each. They are great books. Newberry Award Winners, etc. I can't wait for them to get here. :goodvibes

Great deal on the books! And thanks for the positive weather vibes for our September trip.

OMIGOSH, I'M GOING TO WDW!!! :yay:

Hey all... long weekend for me... we went to Dorney park yesterday.. very nice it was about 30 of us. we went with a couple of my DH's friends. It was nice. it took my mind off of the layoff for a while. Ever since i found out i've been thinking about what to do next i came up with finishing up my nursing degree. I started college and did 2 1/2 years of college with a major in nursing but never finished. I'm thinking about just finishing it up. i spoke with my DH and he agrees with me. he actually said to make sure that going back is what i really want. so i'm really thinking about it. but i am too late to start this semester. so i wouldnt go back until spring semester starts. but that also means NO WDW vacations for atleast 3 years. thats the only bad part about it all. but what can i do. i'll keep you guys updated.....

Sea - yay for working from home. That is the best.

Jo - WHERE ARE YOU???

NC - you might need to go in search of our jo...

RF - congrats on almost getting to your target. You will do it...

Hello MAYers! :snooty: :goodvibes

How's everybody doing?

Sounds like you had a fun weekend Mari! I didn't know that you had started getting your nursing degree. Maybe going back to school is a good idea! I'm sure it would be hard with a little one though. At least you have some time off to relax a bit and think about it. I'm sure you and your DH will come up with what's best for your family. :wizard:

Katie - You're almost there!!!

Sea - Congrats on working from home!

JO - Yes, where are you???????????

Hi NC!! When is your next WDW trip??? :yay:

RF - I was thinking about you Saturday. We met up with friends and spent the day in the city! We went to Carnegie Science Center and Station Square. It was a great day for the kids to play in the dancing fountain at SS!

Good Morning Everyone!

Sea - Did you get the office moved? I bet that was a chore. It's also a good time to get rid of stuff you may not need. Sort of a cleansing. ;)

Mari - Wow, a nursing degree. That would be awesome. The great thing about that would be in any economic time, we always need nurses because people are always sick. (Sad but true.)

Hi Shelly! - Not sure when we will go back. You know the NewCrews, none of that 180 day out planning for us. Ha! Ha!

Katie and RF - Way to go on your weight loss! Keep up the good work!

Katie - I am so excited for your trip. What are you doing on arrival day?

Jo - This is getting serious. No one has heard from you. I am going to be in Fayetteville this weekend for the game. Don't make me come looking for you!

So Friday I was doing my daily airline ticket check. I check my flights everyday since I bought them because people all over these boards keep saying that AirTran changes their flight times and don't even tell them. Well, sure enough my times were changed. Both of them changed by 2 hours. We can't even make the flight down because we were planning on leaving after school and work. We had rearranged our whole trip to take that evening flight down the night before we had originally planned because they didn't have a morning flight down the next day. So anyway, I called them and told them that none of their flights worked for us and they said okay we will refund your credit card, in 7-10 business days. . . Funny how when you make a purchase it is on your credit card right away, but when you are getting a refund it takes days. . . :confused3 :rotfl:

We ended up purchasing flights with SW. They had an early morning flight down the day we wanted to leave anyway. We ended up paying $192 total extra for the flights than what they were with AT. BUT, we ended up saving $269 on the WDW package since we shaved off the one night. So I guess it all worked out. Plus we are flying mid-week, so hopefully we will get a Ding for our flights when it gets a little closer.

Hopefully I will have a better experience with SW than we had in May. I have faith because all my MAYers love SW!! :wizard:

Hey Shelly - Glad to hear it all worked out for you. I hope you have a better experience on SW this time. It is so hit and miss with all the airlines today. The customer service is getting worse and worse no matter what airline you fly domestically. Anyways, you are going to have a awesome vacation!

Thanks Sea! :goodvibes

I do feel better about having a morning flight out. I have heard that the later in the day the flight is the more chance there is for delays. And I guess that makes sense.

Shelly - I hope things go better with SW for you this time. Morning flights do have less of a chance of delay. But if it is too early (like 5:00 a.m. around here), it seems they get cancelled due to mechanical difficulties. Which I always think there just weren't enough people on the flight so they combine it with the 6:00 am flight.

Off to have lunch with my hubby at Chili's. Then to work on that classroom library. I love working on that.

Patricia

HEY MAYERS!!!

JUST CHECKING IN TO SEE WHAT'S UP... NOTHING MUCH MY WAY - I AM TRAINING IN MY NEW JOB, SO I HAVEN'T BEEN ON MUCH :goodvibes

WE WERE JUST GOING TO DRIVE UNTIL WE FOUND ROUND TRIP FLIGHTS THROUGH ORBITZ FOR 313.00 ROUND TRIP FOR BOTH OF US!!! THERE IS A LAYOVER IN NEWARK - BUT FOR THAT PRICE - I COULDN'T BEAT IT. THEN AFTER WE GET BACK IT'S GOING TO BE A PACKING EXTRAVAGANZA SO WE CAN MOVE BACK HOME BY THE END OF SEPTEMBER. WISH ME LUCK :guilty:

HOW HAS EVERYONE BEEN?

GOOD CHOICE SHELLY ON SWITCHING FLIGHTS - WE FLEW AIRTRAN LAST YEAR - BUT NO TIME CHANGES THANKFULLY

HEY NC! GOOD LUCK WITH THE LIBRARY PROJECT - SEEMS LIKE YOUR HAVING FUN! :goodvibes

MARI - HOW'S EVERYTHING BEEN? I BET YOUR DD IS HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HOME :cutie:

HEY EVERYONE ELSE!!

Hey Kait! :goodvibes Long time no "see"!

Yes, I am very lucky to be going back in January! Just 5 months from today!!

Sorry that you have to have that done in December. Hope it's nothing serious.

We've missed you! :grouphug:

 Thanks. It's called a Pilonidal cyst and the doctor said it didn't look that bad. But when they do the surgery they have to leave the wound open, they can't stitch it up. :scared: The good part is that I get to miss work during the busiest time of the year. :cool1:

That's a bummer they changed your flight time Shelly, but at least you saved some money! We flew AirTran and they changed our flight time, but that was because of the Air Show that was going on in Pittsburgh that day.

Hello to all the other Mayers :flower3:

Hello to all the other Mayers :flower3:

We got a 9:20 flight, so hopefully all will go well (and we will all be able to sit together!!) :wizard:

AirTran changed our flights in the past, but only by 30 minutes. This time was over 2 hours and we just couldn't make the new flight.

Hope all goes well with the surgery Kait - keep us posted!

Our flight was I think 20 minutes earlier, so it wasn't that bad.

I loved that AirTran had XM satellite radio though.

My high school's marching band flew Southwest when we went to California, they sang a song for us when we were about to land to the tune of "Let it Snow" but instead they sang, "Fly Southwest, Fly Southwest, Fly Southwest" (instead of let it snow, let it snow, let it snow) I don't remember the rest of the words, but it pretty funny.
