We don't really know anything about their teachers. I have seen them when I am at the school volunteering, but don't really know them. I need to call my friends on the PTO and get the scoop! I'm sure DS6 will be fine, he's a kind of go-with-the-flow kind of guy! :rotfl: DS9 really needs placed with an experienced teacher who offers extra encouragement. We haven't been disappointed in any teachers since we moved here, so hopefully this year will be no different! :wizard:

Here's hoping to a great school year! :teacher:

Hi Guys - My son Chris started his first day in his new school. Fortunately, he has a few friends that go there already and so he is not going in there "cold". We have carpool this week twice - so that is not too bad. The school is about 20 miles away from our home.

We went to DL for a few hours yesterday after church. Chris and his friend Steven came with us. We got there around 2:00 p.m. and we had to park on the top of the parking structure. When we pulled into we got a coupon for a free YOMD pin. That was cool.

It was pretty busy in both parks. DL was the busiest. Got two rides in on Buzz. So we headed across to DCA to meet up with our friends and ride TSMM -no go - 70 minute wait time - too hot to stand in that line. So we rode CA Screamin' front row! Awesome! Then over to TOT - got FPs and cooled off in the Animation Building until our ride time. TOT is my new favorite ride. We headed back over to DL and rode Buzz again and then POTC. Said our goodbyes to our friends and meet up with the boys (They rode TOT five times in a row!). Had to leave early because it was now a "school night" but we were glad to get in a few hours of fun. On the way home,we stopped off at In-n-Out burger for dinner and got home around 9:00ish.

The Halloween merchandise is starting to show up on the shelves and so the next time we go I will take pictures of all the new and neat stuff. We are also going to Mickey's Trick or Treat party at DCA in October. A group of us are going together. Looking forward to that event.

Sea

RF - Congrats on the promotion!

NC - I hope the sprinkler guy finds and fixes the problem fast and cheap.

Shelly - My wife loves parents who volunteer at school! I am glad you are able to help out. Glad you liked Clone Wars, I am going to try to see it this week too. Every time we pass by the "Jedi Training Academy" at DL I think of your boys and how much they love Star Wars. That is such a cool show.

Mari - Glad you survived the weekend. Now back to work! :rotfl:

Ok, I couldn't resist taking this guy's picture yesterday. He was standing in the Buzz line. At first I thought the string had slipped up by mistake, so I just watched him and he never moved it. So, I had to take the picture. I know I am bad.

Quick- somebody call Imagineering to have them design longer elastic strings on the mouse hats!

Hi Sea! :goodvibes I love volunteering at the school! I have always thought about homeschooling the kids, but don't think I would have the patience for it. So being involved in the PTO and volunteering in the classroom as much as possible is my way of staying involved!

I am really really hoping that they continue the Jedi Training Academy into 2009!! :wizard: That really is a cool show! And I'm really hoping DS6 will be picked next time!

Oh I forgot to tell you what the kids found Friday at WalMart after the movie. . . . Star Wars The Clone Wars underwear!! That didn't take long, that was the day the movie came out!! What will they come up with next???!!! :rotfl:

We were at the store Friday and they had a display bin with crayons and other back to school stuff and we found this in bin:

Now, would you send your kid to school with this stuff??? Unbelievably funny!

Hey guys....so it looks like my Trip in May is cancelled..... :( i just got out of a meeting with the bosses and due to economic reasons they are closing our office. The company i work for has about 10 offices and they decided to close down 5 so we were one of the chosen. Which in turn means i'm out of a job. Back to looking for a job. I hate that. I mean I saw it coming but i wasn't sure it was actually going to happen. I'm telling you guys this economy is killing me..... If any of you know of a job in NJ let me know LOL.... Now to go home and break the news to my DH.... Send me some pixie dust that i'll find something fast. Good thing i didn't get my new car yet...

You've got to be kidding me. And it says "Back to School" on the packaging. :sad2: Can anyone say "Against School Policy." Yikes!

Shelly I have always thought about homeschooling my kids until one year, I think it was 5th grade, my DS was having a break down the morning he went back to school after Christmas break. He was crying and saying he didn't want to go back to school, could he just stay home. So I asked if he would like to be home schooled and he replied, " I really would, but I am not so sure about the quality of the education I would receive."

:lmao:

Uh, that would be because I would be his teacher.

:lmao:

I didn't say anything that day as he was too upset. But now, ...:upsidedow

Now, I bring it up all the time. :rotfl:

Oh Mari. I am so sorry. You'll be in my prayers that you get a new job ASAP.

Hi Mari - I am so sorry to hear about you losing your job today. What a bummer. I will be praying that you find a great new job really soon! Sea

I homeschooled my oldest son for a year. I took him to my office everyday and he sat at a desk besides mine all day. It was tough, but it was worth the experience. He had a greater appreciation for regular school after that time. LOL! I guess I am lousy teacher!

Sending you some pixie dust!:wizard: And hoping it works.

OK, WELL IT'S BETTER LATE THAN NEVER RIGHT?

ALRIGHTY WE WOKE UP ON OUR KENNYWOOD DAY AROUND 9 AM AND GOT MOVING TO PICK UP BOB'S UNCLE AND HIS 2 KIDS AROUND 11:00. BY THE TIME THAT WE GOT TO KENNYWOOD AND FINALLY PARKED THE CAR IT WAS AROUND 1:00 PM.

FIRST THING WAS FIRST - WE HEADED STRAIGHT FOR THE BEST FOOD THAT THE PARK HAS TO OFFER - "THE POTATO PATCH"!!!
IMG_0430.jpg

WE THEN HEADED RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO RIDE THE TURTLE! ONE OF THE NOSTALGIC RIDES AT KENNYWOOD - DEFINATELY AN OLDIE BUT GOODIE!
IMG_0436.jpg

IMG_0437.jpg

WE HOPPED OFF OF THE TURTLE AND MADE OUR WAY OVER TO LOST KENNYWOOD AND WENT ON THE SWINGS AND PITTSBURGH PLUNGE (IF YOU LOOK CLOSE IN THE PICTURE - YOU'LL SEE THAT THE SIGN WAS MADE BACK IN THE DAY BEFORE PITTSBURGH ADDED THE "H" ON THE END
IMG_0440.jpg

IMG_0441.jpg

IMG_0445.jpg

AFTER WE GOT SOAKED ON THE PLUNGE - WE LEFT LOST KENNYWOOD AND WENT OVER TO THE LOG JAMMER AND THE RAGING RAPIDS (HEY, WE FIGURED THAT WE WERE WET ALREADY ;) )

BUT BEFORE WE GOT THERE - WE TOOK A COUPLE OF QUICK PICS :goodvibes
IMG_0438.jpg

IMG_0439.jpg

RAGING RAPIDS - PRETTY SIMILAR TO KALI RIVER RAPIDS AT AK
IMG_0448.jpg

DON'T JUDGE ME - BUT I THOUGHT THIS WAS A REAL PERSON! LOL :rotfl: AND I SAID THAT I WANTED THEIR JOB :lmao:
IMG_0449.jpg

WE NEEDED SOME TIME TO DRY OFF - SO ME BOB AND DANNY WENT TO WAIT IN LINE FOR THE PHANTOMS REVENGE - THIS IS OUR "BIG" ROLLERCOASTER. THIS IS THE FASTEST ONE THAT WE HAVE BECAUSE MOST OF THE COASTERS HERE ARE ORIGINALS AND THEY ARE PRETTY MUCH ALL WOODEN.

THE PHANTOM
IMG_0460.jpg

AFTER THE PHANTOM WE TOOK ALYSE ON NOAH'S ARC FOR HER FIRST TIME. LOL SHE WAS SO SCARED TO GO ON IT BECAUSE HER FRIEND TOLD HER THAT IT WAS SCARY. BOB AND I WIL MAKE TERRIBLE PARENTS BECAUSE WE WERE TELLING HER HOW SCARY AND TERRIBLE IT WAS AND WE TOLD HER THAT SHE HAD TO FIND HER OWN WAY OUT AND HAD TO CLIMB A ROCK WALL INSIDE AND JUMP OFF THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING TO GET OUT. :rotfl:

THEN WE TOLD HER THAT WE WERE KIDDING - SHE WAS NOT AS AMUSED AS WE WERE :rotfl2: .....HEY, IT WAS A LO-O-O-NG LINE! NO FASTPASS HERE:eek: WE NEEDED TO KILL SOME TIME :goodvibes

IMG_0466.jpg

IMG_0465.jpg

AFTER THAT WE DECIDE TO WAIT IN THE RIDICULOUSLY LONG LINE FOR "LORD KENNETH GHOSTWOOD'S ESTATE" OUR NEWEST ATTRACTION AT KENNYWOOD - IT'S A CROSS BETWEEN THE HAUNTED MANSION AND BUZZ LIGHYEAR. YOU HAVE TO GO INTO THIS MANSION AND SHOOT ALL OF THE GHOSTS SO LORD KENNETH (AKA KENNY WOOD) CAN LIVE IN HIS MANSION IN PEACE
IMG_0450.jpg

AFTER LORD KENNY'S WE WENT OVER TO RIDE THE PARACHUTES - USUALLY A RIDE THAT I SKIP OVER, BUT WE HAD THE TIME TO DO IT - AND IT WAS REALLY FUN (AGAIN, I WILL BE A TERRIBLE MOTHER - ALYSE RODE WITH ME AND I KEPT MAKING FAKE GAGGING SOUNDS BECAUSE I TOLD HER THAT I WOULD GET SICK ON THIS RIDE - LOL - :lmao: OK, ANYWAYS... )
IMG_0454.jpg

IMG_0453.jpg

WE THEN DECIDED TO FINISH UP THE EVENING WITH THE 3 BEST RIDES IN THE PARK - I THINK :goodvibes

THE RACERS (ONE OF THE ONLY COASTERS LEFT THAT RUNS 2 CARS ON 1 TRACK AND THEY RACE EACH OTHER)
IMG_0478.jpg

IMG_0479.jpg

THE JACKRABBIT (WHICH IS A TIE FOR MY FAVORITE RIDE AT KENNYWOOD WITH THE THUNDERBOLT - WHICH I SADLY DIDN'T RIDE THAT DAY:guilty: AND IT IS KNOWN FOR IT'S FAMOUS "DOUBLE DIP")
IMG_0482.jpg

IMG_0484.jpg

IMG_0489.jpg

AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST - THE TURNPIKE
IMG_0507.jpg

IMG_0494.jpg

IMG_0498.jpg

AND AFTER THE TURNPIKE - THE ONLY WAY TO END A KENNYWOOD DAY - IS WITH A LITTLE FUDGE :goodvibes

THE FUDGE SHOP THAT EVERYONE HITS UP AT THE END OF THE NIGHT "THE KANDY KALEIDOSCOPE"
IMG_0493.jpg

HAPPY FACES WHEN THEY GET FUDGE - LOL
IMG_0500.jpg

A FEW RANDOM FUN PICTURES:

GEORGE WAS HERE!
IMG_0427.jpg

THE KENNYWOOD SIGN
IMG_0470.jpg

MY FAVORITE GAME - THE SHOOTIN ARCADE
IMG_0475.jpg

THE AERO 360
IMG_0487.jpg

THAT'S ME!!! :goodvibes
IMG_0491.jpg

ALRIGHTY GUYS! THAT'S IT - THE LAST THING TO DO IS PLAY THE NIGHTY NIGHT SONG THAT THEY PLAY AT THE END OF EVERYDAY AT KENNYWOOD AND SAY GOODNIGHT :flower3:
