Live from VGC! Checked in to GCH yesterday!

Hey everyone!

I cannot begin to explain how excited I am for this. Checked in yesterday for two nights at the GCH before moving to the villas on Wednesday for another two nights and everything is beautiful. All construction walls and tarps are down around the villas and the building looks incredible! If you had never been to GCH before you'd think it alaways looked like that with the new wing there. I have a pool view room facing the villas and you can see the new pool and jacuzzi roped off, most likely for tomorrow. They also have a podium with chairs and banners set up for something as well, most likely a grand opening presentation or something. If anyone has questions, I'll do my best to find out the answers. Gonna try and post some pics later on also if I can figure it out, any help there would be great. It would be my first time posting pics. Patiently waiting for tomorrow.......

I had to park across the street next to paradise pier. I'm gonna make sure I find out for sure about the parking situation for opening tomorrow.

Cannot wait to stay here!! We've stayed at GCH twice on pts. and it will be so nice to actually have DVC units!!

How exciting! We've considered the GCH our 'home' away from home since 2004 when we began staying there. Since we joined DVC in 2005, we've loved using our points there and I was so scared we wouldn't be able to get a reservation since there are so few units. I called last week and got us a 1 br for the week of our Spring Break! Woo Hoo! I would love to see pics but I'm no help to you getting them on the boards!

Have a fantastic 1st ever stay in our villas!

To post pics you need to save them on a server -- I use photobucket.com. They will walk you through uploading your pics -- on my computer I just use the uploader, with my phone I have to email them (they give you an address to use and they appear -- voila!) Then copy the IMG tag for each picture from photobucket in your post and the picture will appear. There are some more detailed instructions on the tech boards, too.

When you hover your mouse over the picture in photobucket a drop down should show. Just highlight the very bottom link that is IMG code, copy it and paste into your message. Voila!

They added one pool and one hot tub. It is in the same area as the others pools. They are not part of DVC.

Yay, thanks for posting them. These shots look nice. What do the banners say? Something about the villas, but it's not very clear.
