Let's Roast This Pig!- A March/April Birthday TR [Final Wrap Up! 9/27]

Okay I lied. I was going to go to bed... but I kept reading
Where's the part in the PeopleMover where they mention Mr Tom Morrow? I need to listen for that next time!
The rain parade looks SO CUTE! Oh my gosh... I didn't know they did that! How nice! Rain at Disney definitely makes for a memorable experience. It is sad... but fun at the same time.
I can't BELIEVE your teacher had the nerve to say that to you. I was really lucky at my school, I guess... I skipped so many days/afternoons during senior year between doctors appointments, vacations, and dentist appointments and none of them ever said anything to me! I'm sorry they said that :( I would be REALLY mad if I was your mom, too! Not okay!!
I love Minnie's little outfit! SO CUTE! I never saw her dressed in that before. It looked 4th of July-ish.
Okay now i'm REALLY going to sleep  I'm at the 2nd update of the 2nd day now. Good night - i will continue reading tomorrow! :yay:

LOL GOOD MORNING!
(I'm so obnoxious... 3 posts in a row :lmao:)

I finished up your TR up to this point!! YAY! Wow... I am SO sorry about all of that rain! That is just terrible!
I think it's really cool that you want to work for Disney... I want to, too! I'm just not exactly sure what the best job for me would be. What do you plan on majoring in college?
I hope you had a lot of fun on your birthday - it looks like you did! I think I sat in the same place as you during my January trip this year at 1900 Park Fare! Super cute.
You are SO lucky you got on Toy Story Mania with only a 35 minute line! Seriously, wow! That NEVER happens! I guess rain is a good thing every once in a while...
And yay I'm so glad you got to go to sci-fi! I bet that was a lot of fun for you :thumbsup2

Now that I read the whole thing... Can't wait to read more!! :wizard:

I just clicked on your TR tonight and started reading :) I'm only on the first day - second update but I will continue to read more tomorrow :goodvibes I LOVE your excitement and enthusiasm about going to Disney - that's how I get!! :wizard: I can't wait to read more about your adventures... I'm sure there are a lot of cute stories to come princess:

(and I LOVE that you own mickey everything. so cute!!! :mickeybar )

Thank you for joining in!! I absolutely love your TR's, they're actually my favorite ones to read here on the DIS! hahah yeah my excitement about Disney really annoys my parents sometimes, oh well:rolleyes: I love owning Mickey everything, lol, it probably seems weird to some people, they just don't understand though!

Hahaah I do the same thing late at night. Especially with TR's, I tell myself "okay only one more update then I seriously need to sleep!" Then I end up finishing the whole thing and going to bed at 3:rotfl:

I forget exactly what point they mention Mr. Tom Morrow, I think it was around the point where you see the robot butler guy? Yes the rain parade is adorable!!! The song is just as cute too, I wish people could listen to it through the TR:laughing:

Yeah that teacher and I didn't get along very well :sad2: You're lucky your teachers were so chill! I know they have to get us to learn and do well and everything, but senior year after we all know what college we're going too, they really just need to chill out and realize we're so done with hs!

I know isn't that outfit precious?! I wish I had Minnie's wardrobe:rotfl:

LOL it's okay, you're not obnoxious at all! I always get excited when I see people have commented on my TR.
:thumbsup2 for finishing! Yes the rain was pretty horrible, but the really nice days did make up for it.

Yes I cannot wait to work for Disney! I'm planning on majoring in business management. My dream job at Disney would be to run one of the parks, preferably AK, I love animals:goodvibes I'm hopefully gonna do the DCP while I'm in college too. Are you planning on doing it as well? It sounds like a lot of hard work, but a lot of fun too.

My birthday was amazing! 1900 PF was so awesome, how ironic that you sat in the same spot! Lol

And yeah the rain definitely was good for a few things I guess! It was a total pain dealing with the ponchos but at least the wait times those days were pretty short. Sci Fi was probably my favorite meal of the whole trip! I totally wasn't expecting to go there at all so it was a nice surprise that my parents agreed!

Hopefully I'll update tonight. I need to finish this thing before I leave for school in 2 weeks!

You're very welcome! And aww thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy them! I saw you had been commenting a lot, so I clicked on this TR and I have really enjoyed reading you story!
And hahaha it's okay... you love what you love and no one's gonna stop ya :thumbsup2 I'm glad they embrace it and took you for your birthday! You definitely deserved it! And I understand about the merchandise thing... I own SO much Disney stuff... I bough Mickey and Minnie Handsoaps at Target today! My roommate is gonna think I'm nuts :rotfl:

Hahahaha I do that EVERY night! Seriously, though. I find TR's and I just can't stop reading!
I will be on the lookout for Tom Morrow! And aww I know.. I wish I could hear it! But I'm pretty sure I did a dance routine in my Jazz class in 6th grade to a "Trickle Trickle, Splash Splash" song... so it's probably the same one!
Ugh I'm sorry about that :sad2: I agree... Once I got into college I was so done haha. I didn't want to do anything
And YES very precious! I love that word, too! :thumbsup2 PRECIOUS!

LOL it's okay, you're not obnoxious at all! I always get excited when I see people have commented on my TR.

Haha oh good, I'm glad! I know how you feel!
I'm glad you had SOME good weather!
That's really awesome! I hope your dream comes true... I can tell you have a passion for Disney, so people like that should really be running the parks!
I plan on doing the College Program as well! I'm thinking probably the 2nd half of my sophomore year... maybe we'll be there at the same time! I'm more excited for that than for college itself  It's going to be an AMAZING experience... I can already tell!
I'm so glad you had a nice birthday dinner! And a nice Sci Fi Lunch!
And haha that's how I feel about mine... I leave in like 20 something days... and I have like 20 something updates left between the two. So hopefully I can wrap those up before school or right after school starts.

Glad you enjoyed the Sci-Fi! It is a really fun restaurant. We've gone there a couple times and have always liked it.

March 31, 2011- DHS (Part 3)

After our deliciously amazing lunch at Sci Fi we donned our ponchos yet again and headed back out into the rain.

Since discovering on my trip last summer to the World with Jamie that the shows at Disney are actually amazing and very cool, I decided that we should check out VotLM. It was a new one for all of us and luckily a show was starting in about 15 minutes. We waited in the waiting area for what seemed like an eternity and finally they let us in.

As soon as we sat down, my Dad stated "These chairs are comfortable."... and then proceeded to fall asleep:rotfl:
So I'm not sure what my Dad thought about the show but my Mom and I both thought it was great! I loved the water effect on the ceiling, that just amazed me. Although the last thing we wanted to see right then was more water:laughing:

DSCI0484.jpg

^I also loved the Under the Sea bit, with Sebastian and all the neon fish, so so so cool! (Sorry it's so dark, my camera hates the indoors!)

One thing in the show that made me laugh was how short Ariel was! At the end when she kissed Prince Eric that poor girl was seriously standing on her tippy toes trying to reach him. LOL!

I was surprised at how quick the show was, and soon enough they were kicking us out back into the dreaded rain. I then suggested we try out the Magic of Disney Animation, as I'd seen it on many TRs and looked like a lot of fun.

We headed over there and watched the movie with Mushu (who I LOVE, he's so hilarious) And then we realized that we had to get into another line for the actual drawing part, lol.

Our animator had us vote on our character. He didn't want anyone to draw anything they'd done before so it took us awhile to finally choose one no one had done before: Jiminy Cricket. Eh, he's not my favorite character, but what could I do? I enjoyed it but I felt way too rushed and not having an eraser really stressed me out! Lol.

DSCI0485.jpg

Here's mine. (Looks like my Jiminy had too many churros eh?:lmao:)

and my Mom's

and finally my Dad's

DSCI0488.jpg

After the class we went back out into the character greeting area. The rain was still coming down pretty good and it was getting close to the first Fant! showing so I was getting nervous. All of a sudden the backstage doors opened and characters start FLOODING out of them. Aladdin, Pinnochio & Gepetto, Mary Poppins & the penguins, Capt. Hook, some of the Disney Jr. characters, and more.

My heart dropped, I knew from the DIS that this was a sign that Fant! was going to be cancelled:sad1: I was definitely sad but still held hope that maybe the later show would go on.

I decided while we were there to go ahead and meet Sorceror Mickey. I absolutely LOVE Mickey in this outfit, it's my favorite. I even bought a plushie of him in that outfit the next day.

Anywho, the line was short so I hopped in it.

When it was my turn Mickey pointed to my ears, referencing Minnie...

and then did this. He obviously loves her very much:cutie:

After meeting Mickey for the 3rd time that trip (you can never meet him too many times though right?!) we decided to head over by the Fant! arena to check to see if it was truly cancelled or not. We'd asked a few CMs on the way and each one gave us a different answer:rolleyes: Some said the 8:30 was cancelled but the 10:00 was still on, both were cancelled, etc.

We got over there and indeed the 8:30 was cancelled, but the 10:00 was still TBD. We decided to use our FPs from earlier and ride RNRC and TOT one more time.

My Mom had started to get a headache during the day so she sat out these two while my Dad and I rode them. After we were done, the BATB show was about to start soon so we figured why not? It's out of the rain!!

This show is so cute, I love the costumes and everything. (I only took a few pictures at the end though as I had a lot of the show from the year before, plus I wanted to save my card space for our last day at MK!)

After the show we were getting hungry, so we braved the rain yet again and set off to find some dinner!

Up Next: My Dad could be the next Disney animator! And a Fantasmic miracle!!

Ahhh I want to see what happens! Haha I'm so used to reading your TR one update after another and now I have to wait :rotfl:

But yay for doing the Animation Academy! I LOVE that!! Your Dad's was really really good! And yours and your Mom's were wonderful too! :thumbsup2 Good work - you have an artistic family!

I love the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast Shows! I'm glad you got to see them! :3dglasses

And YAY MICKEY!

I hope Fantasmic wasn't cancelled!! But we will have to wait and see..!

You're very welcome! And aww thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy them! I saw you had been commenting a lot, so I clicked on this TR and I have really enjoyed reading you story!

No way, Mickey & Minnie soaps?! I must get those for my dorm too! ahaha I think we would make great roommates! lol

:thumbsup2 PRECIOUS!

haha yeah I'm pretty sure that's probably the same song then. Precious is such a fun word to use and say:thumbsup2

Haha oh good, I'm glad! I know how you feel!
I'm glad you had SOME good weather!
That's really awesome! I hope your dream comes true... I can tell you have a passion for Disney, so people like that should really be running the parks!

Aww thanks yeah I hope it'll happen someday! Plus it would be fun to rub it in my Dad's face, I keep threatening him that if I do ever run one of the parks I'll ban him from Disney property because he's so mean to me about my love of Disney and always says horrible things about Mickey:rotfl:

That would be so cool if we did the DCP at the same time! I have no idea when I'm going to do it though. I'm pretty sure my college doesn't accept the credits from the program so I'd have to take a semester off, which I really don't want to do. But I really don't want to wait till the end of college either, I have no idea what to do. :confused3

Wow you leave soon too! Isn't it crazy?! I'm kinda nervous but also ready to just go already, lol. And yeah you have 2 TRs to finish, I can't imagine! For me it's hard finding the motivation to write updates sometimes, lol. This one has taken me over 4 months now:rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed the Sci-Fi! It is a really fun restaurant. We've gone there a couple times and have always liked it.

Yes I absolutely loved it! Glad you've had good experiences there too!

Your Jimmney cricket drawing was really good, all of my drawings i do in the animation class aren't good at all so i never like to show them to people. Bummer about fantasmic's first show being cancelled, hopefully you got to see it for the 2nd show. One time i was watching the show and it poured in the middle of the show so it got cancelled half way through so we didn't see how all the bad stuff ended (i have seen fantasmic all the way through so i know how it ends)

No way, Mickey & Minnie soaps?! I must get those for my dorm too! ahaha I think we would make great roommates! lol

Haha seriously though, you should!! You would LOVE them  I'm pretty sure I squealed when I saw them haha

Precious is such a fun word to use and say

It is my favorite word of all time!!

Aww thanks yeah I hope it'll happen someday! Plus it would be fun to rub it in my Dad's face, I keep threatening him that if I do ever run one of the parks I'll ban him from Disney property because he's so mean to me about my love of Disney and always says horrible things about Mickey

Aww tell him to be nice!! Mickey is a nice mouse! :thumbsup2

But I really don't want to wait till the end of college either, I have no idea what to do.

Understandable. Ugh I wish there was just an option to go to college IN disney... that would make things easier

Wow you leave soon too! Isn't it crazy?! I'm kinda nervous but also ready to just go already, lol. And yeah you have 2 TRs to finish, I can't imagine! For me it's hard finding the motivation to write updates sometimes, lol. This one has taken me over 4 months now

Yeah I leave in like.. a month minus 3 days :scared1: Yeah, I'm scared LOL. I think once I'm there I'll be fine... but I'm not really in the mood to change around my whole life. But I think it's pretty inevitable at this point  Oh well!
And aww it's okay! You'll finish it! I always go on my exercise bike when I write my updates, so it's like my daily exercise and Disney dose all in one. I have lots of fun writing them! And of course, I have to finish up these because I don't want to be behind when I have new ones to write! I think my TR's have typically taken me about 5 months each to write... but I think my most current one will probably be finished up faster because it was a shorter trip and it's summertime so I have free time. :yay:

And YAY MICKEY!

I hope Fantasmic wasn't cancelled!! But we will have to wait and see..!

Lol! I know that's happened to me on TRs before too, it's so weird to have to suddenly stop.

Thanks! Yeah my Dad's was definitely the best and my Mom's was pretty good too. I hated mine, I made Jiminy look like a blown up cricket. Lol!

The shows were amazing! It's so weird how I used to think they were boring and too long when I'd never even seen one of them or given them a chance!! I guess I was too little then to appreciate them.

Your Jimmney cricket drawing was really good, all of my drawings i do in the animation class aren't good at all so i never like to show them to people. Aww thank you! I'm sure yours aren't bad at all! Nothing could be worse than my Jiminy drawing, lol. Wow that would really stink having it cancelled half way through, and getting rained on. :sad2: At least you knew how it ended though, I would hate never knowing the ending!

Haha seriously though, you should!! You would LOVE them  I'm pretty sure I squealed when I saw them haha

It is my favorite word of all time!!

Haha I'm the same way when I find Disney stuff and I'm not expecting it! I see it and I'm like "Oh man I really don't need this, but it's Disney, I have to get it."
I've tried so many times to tell my Dad to be nice to him but he continuously calls him a "money grubbing rat" :sad2: It's sad, I know :(

College in Disney is a brilliant idea, that really would make things easier for us Disney obsessed people!

Yeah you know I'm the same way, I don't like change and now I'm in for a whole lot of it! haha Oh well, it should all turn out for the best:)
That's a really good idea, writing your updates and exercising at the same time! I might have to try that. You're so lucky you'll have new TRs to write though! I'm so jealous at how much you get to go! I have no idea when I'll be back next, probably not until I do the DCP. I still haven't even deleted my ticker from my last trip since I know I won't have a new one for a long time. How sad is that?! :rotfl:

Hahaha I know. Disney stuff is like an addiction. I bought Disney Bandaids, an Ariel Ice Pack, Those soaps, etc. all for my dorm. I'm going to look like such a child  I swear, all of my money goes to disney and food!
And oh no :( Well... at least you're getting what you pay for when you go to Disney! It's not like you're wasting money!
And yeah, College will be an experience!
And haha I know, I thought of it one night... so brilliant. And aww thanks. Going to Disney is like my #1 priority in life  And aww that's not sad!! I hope you get to go back soon!

he shows at Disney. I remember when I went for the first time how I didn’t want to step into any of the shows, by the end of the trip, I had seen at least one show per park. Disney is the head of the entertainment industry, so seeing those shows is a no brainer LOL VotLM looks really cool. That is one I have yet to see. Maybe I’ll check it out on my next trip :thumbsup2

Magic of Disney Animation sounded like it was fun. Mushu=Epic :teeth: I love all your Jiminy Cricket drawings, nice job. I’m better at drawing Disney characters without instructions so I don’t know how I would do going to the Academy :/

Great photos with Mickey! (: Sorcerer Mickey is my favorite out of all the Mickeys. That’s so adorable he kneeled down because you had Minnie ears, so cute :goodvibes Sorry this signaled for a possibly cancelled Fantasmic :( I hope you do end up getting to see it, another amazing show at Disney ::yes:: Though you did get to see Beauty & the Beast, love that show! I think I've said that too many times Hahahaha

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Lol I have the Disney bandaids too, the Mickey ones to be specific. I love them, I actually look forward to getting a scratch so I can put a Mickey bandaid on now!

I know! I think Disney is worth every penny. But my Dad is more of the beach/tropical vacation type of guy:sad2:
And yeah going to Disney is pretty much all I live for right now! Hopefully I'll get lucky and go back soon. I enter sweepstakes almost every day because I'm so desperate:rotfl:

Yeah I'm so glad we finally gave the shows a chance! We would totally be missing out if we still stayed away from them! VotLM is pretty good, but I think I like B&tB much better:thumbsup2

Thanks! Haha yeah I'm the same way when I draw, I like just having a picture to look at for reference instead of doing step by step. Yes isn't Sorcerer Mickey awesome? He's definitely my favorite too.

March 31, 2011- DHS (Part 4)

After watching the B&TB show we set off to find some dinner. Well just our luck it started POURING. And when I say pouring, this was the kind of rain where wearing a poncho wouldn't even keep you dry:sad2:

So we quickly ran into one of the shops on Sunset Blvd. for some shelter. We must have stayed in there a good 1/2 hour until the rain died down a bit.

We looked at all of the merch. and I spotted this Tron Mickey watch. It was cute, but not for $200:scared1:

Over by the watches was an actual Disney animator who had his own little desk set right up in the middle of the store!

It was so cool to see him in action drawing all of the Disney characters. We got to chatting with him about the Animation Academy and he asked to see our drawings. He kind of smirked at mine  But he really liked my Dad's he said his was almost perfect! He didn't really look at my Mom's though because they were kind of stuck together from being in the rain:confused3

It was really cool to be able to chat with him, and it passed the time. The rain slowed down a bit so we decided to head out in the open again to find a place to eat!

We found the NBC Commissary and quickly ran inside. This dinner wasn't so fabulous, we were tired and wet so just got some food to tide us over.

I got the kids cheeseburger and my parents split some kind of sandwich with fried shrimp on top?? Lol I have no idea what that is...

Funny story about the Commissary, I kept pronouncing it wrong and my parents were cracking up. I pronounced it Kuh-miss-arry. Apparently that's not how you say it, and needless to say my parents corrected me, but I still to this day say it the wrong way:rotfl:

During our dinner, my parents stated they just wanted to head back to the room to chill and watch TV. I really really wanted to stay and see if the 10 o clock showing of Fant! would still be a go, so I asked them if I could stay and see if it would still go on. They reluctantly agreed, and I was super happy I'd get to be in the park all by myself. :woohoo:

Once we were finished we went outside and noticed something peculiar....could it be?....it had stopped raining!!!!!:dance3:

All 3 of us were just amazed that the rain had finally stopped. Some random guy walked by us with our mouths hanging open and he said something like "It's amazing isn't it?" I think I replied "It's a miracle!!!!" LOL. I was just so happy the rain was gone:woohoo:

I asked if my parents still wanted to go back to the room and my Dad really did so my Mom went back with him. (She told me later on that she'd wished she'd stayed:sad2:).

Before they left though I really wanted to take a family picture in front of the hat so we found a PP photographer. The guy was really nice and he tried to take a few pics with my camera too but when he looked at the pic on the screen he stated "I can zee you all, but not de hat" (I tried to copy his accent there, Lol, I think he was Jamaican!)

Needless to say the pictures he took were much better!

Notice how I'm holding our ponchos behind me:laughing:
Also notice how miserable my parents look! :lmao:

My parents then left after that, and with them gone I had 2 FPs to use since my Mom had skipped TOT and RNRC earlier!

I quickly headed over to TOT first as I wanted to save my favorite, RNRC, for last. I got in the FP line and it was weird being by myself but it was a good ride, and very cool at night!

After I rode TOT I saw a line already starting to form for Fant! so I got in it for some reason. I took a few pics while I waited

DSCI0500.jpg

I tried to get a good pic of the TOT all lit up but alas the trees prevented that from happening!

I didn't want to miss the show but I still had over an hour till showtime so I decided to risk it, got out of line, and head for RNRC. I got in the FP line and the line just stood still, for about 20 minutes :( It was apparently down and of course the CMs had no clue when it would be up again.

I really really really wanted to ride RNRC one last time because it's my absolute favorite ride in all of Disney, but I had been so excited to see Fant! and waited all day for the rain to finally stop so I got out of line. I felt bad, but I still have that FP at least, and it's still in my wallet to remind me of my fave ride:goodvibes

When I got to the entrance of the arena they had already started letting people in! I quickly started speed walking because I wanted a good seat for this show.

Continued in next post

Well I shouldn't have worried because the arena was practically empty!! I found a great spot right in the middle section and only about 6 or so rows back! I was shocked at how empty it was, I guess 90% of the guests that day had given up on the rain and left. The first time I saw Fant! was last summer in June, and that night every single section was filled it was so packed. This night however only 3 sections were taken up and they weren't even filled:cool1:

I was so happy and couldn't believe my luck. After waiting about 35 minutes the lights dimmed and the show finally started!:yay:

So overall the show was AMAZING. This is my absolute favorite show in Disney and I'm so glad I stuck around to see it. I was bummed my parents didn't stay, but also really happy I finally got to see the end of the show. (I left the show early last year, if you want the whole story check out my first TR).

As soon as the show was over I literally sprinted through the park. I didn't want to be stuck in any crowds waiting for the buses. As I was running down Hollywood Boulevard there were 2 other girls that were running too. They must of thought I was trying to compete with them because they started to run faster:rotfl:

I made it to the ASMo. bus stop in record time and was totally out of breath. LOL It actually felt good to run for awhile though as crazy as it sounds!

A bus pulled up pretty quickly but we sat there for awhile and waited for it to fill up. We got back to ASMo. around 11:15ish and I told my parents all about the amazing show they missed. We were all dead tired so we went to sleep so we could be rested for our last day at Disney:sad1:

Up Next: Our last day and you won't believe what a certain Disney Prince does for me for my birthday!

hahaha funny you say that about the abc commissary.. i always pronounce it "kuh-miss-i-ar-y" and that is DEFINITELY not how it's pronounced :lmao: But when I used to read about it when I was little I guess that's what I thought it was so it's always been stuck in my head that way. "comm-i-sar-y" i need to remember that :rotfl:

You got some awesome pictures of fantasmic!! i'm so glad you stayed by yourself to see it - it's always a great show! i really want to see it next time... i haven't seen it in years!

i'm sad your last day is coming up but i am excited for the next update :goodvibes

Lol! Glad to know I'm not the only one who can't pronounce it then:rotfl: It really is a hard word to figure out, haha I'm not even sure what it means either.
Thank you! Fantasmic was so amazing, it was definitely one of the many highlights of my trip. Yes you definitely need to see it next time!

I can't wait to write the next update, I've been waiting anxiously since I came back to share that day with everyone!

LOL, love the story about ABC Commissary. That is great. :lmao:

YAY for the rain finally stopping! That's great you were able to see Fantasmic and that it was basically empty. I bet you're right about everyone leaving because of the rain.

Can't wait to hear about your SUNNY last day!

Haha yeah I said it again the other day, still can't get it right:rotfl:
Yes the rain actually came in handy for once during the trip! Lol It was so nice having a center close up seat for it. Although there was a kinda creepy guy by himself sitting next to me with his camcorder. He kept filming everyone around him...I was a little weirded out by that!

I can't wait to share about the last day!!
