Let's Roast This Pig!- A March/April Birthday TR [Final Wrap Up! 9/27]

Yes the MM&You show was so amazing. I'm so sorry you missed it, you can look forward to seeing it on your birthday trip though right?:thumbsup2

Yes, definitely! I'll have to do MK on an EMH morning or night so I won't have to worry about missing certain attractions :thumbsup2

Haha yeah I know I really keep hoping I can go back soon, I enter sweepstakes almost every day:rotfl: Besides the sweepstakes though, I talked to my advisor here at my college and he said I could probably do the DCP before my junior or senior year:banana: So I'm definitely excited I'll be able to do that kind of soon!!

Well... being me and just having to see how the DCP works awhile before I even do it, I checked the website and the only qualification you need is one semester of school your Freshman year. So you could apply to go during your second semester even. I actually know someone here on the DIS going into her Sophomore year of college who did the DCP Freshman year. So it is definitely possible to do it earlier than during your final years at school :teeth:

Wow! Just read your ENTIRE TR! I'm the same age as you! I LOVE all of your pictures! I am so excited to read more! I'm hoping to get that bag for my birthday next month! Love your name! It's so cute and unique!

Wow that's a lot of reading! Lol. That's so cool, you know I think you actually wrote on my PTR a couple of times, I remember your username! That's awesome, I absolutely LOVE my bag, I even took it to college with me,. And thank you so much! If I remember correctly your name is Deva right? Unique names are the best!:)

Yeah I know that only one semester is required, but I think my advisor wants me to have a few years of just being here. I don't really know, lol. I wish I could just go as soon as the first semester is over with but I guess I should get some classes done first:rolleyes: College is too confusing for me, I just want to go to Disney now and live there for the rest of my life:rotfl:

Sad that you guys lost your spot after you worked so hard to get it :( , at least you still had a good view for both shows :thumbsup2. I can't wait to see the magical memories show (hopefully it will still be there in january!) I have seen the youtube video of the show but i really want to see it in person :) I love wishes, it makes me feel so happy! I love watching it in the park and i also love watching it from various MK resorts when we have dinner there. At the contemporary they have a 4th floor observatory deck that plays the music from the show in sync with the fireworks. I love it!!!!! I also love the mickey graduation ears! My aunt and cousins went to disney right after my cousin graduated high school and my aunt got my cousin and I mickey hats for our high school graduation and my brother and his fiancee them for college graduation. sad your trip is over!

I know right! I just got so addicted :p I think so too! I have the wristlet in the same pattern but in pink, so I cannot wait to get the full size bag to add to my collection :) Yep! I don't love my name, but I do love my middle name, Danielle!

Wow, you got some really nice fireworks pics! My favorite part of MMY was the rocket ship too.

Thanks! I'm surprised at how good some of them turned out. Yeah the rocket ship part was amazing!

Yeah it stunk that we lost our spot! The MM&You show is great, you're gonna love it! That observatory deck in the Contemporary sounds so nice! Hahah yes I love the graduation ears too. I'm so glad we stopped to get them before we left. I know I can't believe it's over too, I miss Disney so much :(

Oh cute! I love the pink version too. I used to hate my name when I was little, but I love it now! I think your name is very pretty, why don't you like it?! I love your middle name though too, Danielle sounds so graceful and pretty!

-Yay! We're so much alike!
-Thanks! I think mainly because no one can ever pronounce it right! Everybody calls me diva instead of day-va :(
-Thank you! I love my middle name!

The MM&Y show was amazing. It's hard for me to pick a favorite fireworks show because they're all so good but I am with you in that the POTC part in the Summer Nightastic one was pretty cool. They also did that at the old Pirate and Princess Party.

Sad your TR is coming to an end too now. :sad2:

Yeah I can understand not liking it because people can't pronounce it. It annoys me to no end when people can't pronounce my name!

Yes I was really impressed by the MM&Y show! Really? That's cool, I really really like the POTC part, I got chills when I saw it!.

Yeah, I can't believe it's over :( I'm kind of tempted to make a PTR for a future trip like 2 years from now, just so I can keep talking with everyone:laughing:

Hey everyone! Guess what? I'm already home from college! I'm just so smart that I finished all my classes within a week and completed Freshman year already...:rotfl:
Just kidding!! My school is like 20 minutes from VA beach so we were evacuated last Thursday. It was kind of weird to go home after only being there about 2 weeks! I was just getting into the swing of things and we had to leave.
I hope everyone else in Irene's path is staying safe!

April 2, 2011- Leaving Disney World

Ugh this is my least favorite part of writing TRs, leaving Disney :( This is so sad writing this, but I’ll have one wrap up update after this though at least.

So after we got to bed around 11:30ish I’d say, we were up again at 4:00am:scared1:

Why so early you ask?? Well my Dad booked the flights, and our original flight was supposed to leave at 9:30 I believe. Well about a month before our trip we get an email saying it’s now departing at 6:30! We couldn’t cancel and there was nothing we could do, so we just had to deal with it.

I already hate getting up early, and getting up early to leave Disney World is pretty much the worst possible thing ever. We packed up all our suitcases, checked the room, and headed out the door.

LEAVINGDOWRLD.jpg

^ Notice how it's completely pitch black outside! Yeah that's how early it was:faint:

We stopped so I could take one last picture with this little guy though.

I love him! He’s just so adorable! I pet him goodbye on the head and we went out front to wait for the ME bus. It came and the driver (who had a very thick accent, couldn’t understand a word he said!) loaded our luggage onto the bus.

While leaving Disney property, I did what I always tend to do when I don’t want to leave a place, I take a TON of random pictures that don’t really mean anything but help remind me of the place at least:goodvibes I'll only post one random one though for your all's sake! lol

DSCI0696.jpg

^This is the little security booth at the entrance to the All Star resorts. I guess I thought I would miss this! Haha.

DSCI0697.jpg

As we drove to the airport they played the goodbye video. And I’ll be totally honest, I started crying during it (I’m even tearing up now thinking about it :( ) It was such a bittersweet moment, I’d had such a fabulous birthday trip, but I also knew I wouldn’t be back for a long long time. :sad2:

Anywho, after that depressing goodbye video we got to the airport and found our gate.

One last view of a palm tree.

DSCI0701.jpg

Bye Florida! Till next time:guilty:

The plane ride was uneventful, my parents slept most of the way and I mostly wrote in my trip journal before I forgot anything. All too soon we were back in cold, dreary, boring VA.

Once we got home the rest of the weekend I felt so sick. I’m pretty sure it was a combination of Post Disney Depression/tiredness/ and more Post Disney Depression. Lol But starting this TR made me feel better.

And that’s all! Can’t believe this is over, I’ll have one more wrap up post though :) I hope to include info on a future Disney trip (nothings set in stone, in fact it probably won’t happen, but I’m still hopeful) and maybe I’ll post a few pictures of my dorm room for you all!

Up Next: What are my future Disney adventures??

Eww, 4 am! The only time it's fun getting up that early is when it's on the other end of the trip and you're just leaving to go to WDW!

I'll admit I've cried a couple times during the ME video too. Especially when they say "now it's time to say good-bye..." So sad. :sad1:

You should start a PTR-it is fun to keep talking to fellow Disney fans. If you have facebook you can add me if you want. :)

Can't wait to hear about your next Disney adventure!

Awwww... only one update until it's over :( So sad, this was one of the first TRs I've read and now it's already over. :'( Alright, onto the update...

WHOA! 4:30?! WOW! I can't believe they made the flight 3 hours before you were going to go for your flight. At least you got to take some great pictures while nobody else was walking around the resort. I love the ones of Pongo and Perdita :thumbsup2

Awwww... that goodbye video is so sad, especially when it begins talking about we hope to see you soon and then us stuck with anti-Disney parents know we won't be coming back for awhile and then "WAAAHHH!!" :sad2: Not fun, but either way it really is just such a bittersweet video (':

I'm glad this TR has made it all that better for you after the trip, that's how it's been for me, and now I'm already working on the plans for a next trip and hopefully it will become a trip and I'll get to see my best friend again for my birthday :goodvibes

Can't wait to read about your future trip plans and how college life is going for you (P.S. Us East Coasters are fine, Irene's toned down to a Tropical Storm and she hasn't caused too much trouble, good thing they evacuated you guys though :thumbsup2)! :mickeyjum

Yes I agree! Waking up that early is only good if you're going there, not leaving. Oh my gosh yes, I'm pretty sure that's the point where I lost it, darn that video! lol Yeah I think I might, I really have no set trip plans, just ideas, but I do love talking to everyone on here so we'll see. And I do have one, I just sent you a request:)

Aw really, one of your first ones?! That makes me even more sad that it's ending now, lol. Haha yeah I still get tired just thinking about how early we got up that day! Thanks, my Dad actually took those pictures on his cell, probably shoulda given him credit:rolleyes: lol

Yes I'm so glad you get to go for your birthday now too! It's going to be so amazing, and that's great you're going to get to see your best friend too. Glad she didn't cause too much trouble for you. My hometown really didn't get anything either, we've had thunderstorms way worse than Irene! My campus down south is underwater right now however, but we're moving back in tomorrow so it's not too bad!

Ewwie last Disney day :( The only time I get up that early is when i'm headed to DW, not leaving! When I go, I get the earliest flight there and then the latest flight back! How are your classes going? Are you still evacuated? I only live 25 min. away from my parents too! It's so nice to be able to go hang out there in the evenings and on weekends! Can't wait for dorm pics! I'm gonna post some of mine this weekend!

I loved your report. Please do post some dorm/school pics! I would enjoy seeing some college fun.
I hope you get a chance to plan a new Disney trip soon!princess:

Ugh I know, it really is only reasonable to get up that early to go there, not leave! Yeah that's what I'd tried to do, but the stupid airline had to mess that up! :( My classes are going pretty well so far, thanks for asking! A few of them are already quite hard, mostly my Econ class. I have that one at 8am twice a week and it's so hard to focus on Econ that early in the morning:laughing:
Nope we aren't evacuated anymore luckily! We came back Tuesday, but there are already more tropical storms/hurricanes forming, so this may be a repeat thing for us! Lol. That must be nice being so close to your parents! I'm jealous, I'm about a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive away from home and I really wish I was closer so I could go home more often. Can't wait to see your dorm pics as well! I'm posting mine right now:thumbsup2

Aw thank you! And thank you so much for reading it:) I'm going to post some pics right now for you all to see! Yes I really hope I do too, it's pretty much all I live for right now!

Hey everyone! I figured I'd give you all a little tour of my dorm. I've been here for about 3ish weeks so far and I think I've finally finished decorating! I keep rearranging things though since I really don't have that much space (It's tough sharing a room with 2 other people!)

Here's a few pics of what our VW Vanagon looked like with all my stuff packed into it on the trip down.

DSCI0005.jpg

DSCI0006.jpg

My Dad could not see anything in the rearview mirror because there was too much stuff:laughing:

Moving in was a breeze, they had upperclassmen help us move in and they pretty much did everything! It took about 3 hours to set up and find places for everything but here is the final outcome:

DSCI0009.jpg

Since I was tripled that meant that there was a bunkbed and a lofted bed. I luckily got the lofted bed with my desk underneath and a dresser in the corner. One of my roommates and I also share a wardrobe for all our hanging clothes too.

Here's my desk more up close
DSCI0012.jpg

Don't you love the "A dream is a wish your heart makes" plaque?! I found that at HomeGoods this summer in the little girls section and pretty much screamed when I saw it!! It was too perfectly Disney to not get it, haha.

Here's a better view of my bed
DSCI0013.jpg

I just LOVE love love the Disney Princess wall stickers I found. I got those at Borders in their going out of business sale. Definitely one of my best finds, pretty much every single girl who comes in to our room always says how much they love them, even my RA said she liked them!

This is the wardrobe that one of my roommates and I share. We're both obsessed with Disney (we requested each other because of that!) so the other night we drew a bunch of Mickeys to put on our wardrobe. I think it turned out pretty cute!

DSCI0015.jpg

We're still going to draw some more to finish the bottom though.

DSCI0017.jpg

This is our room fan my other roommate brought. My roommates both have a thing about naming objects so we had to name the fan of course:rolleyes: I actually came up with this name though (I'm pretty sure we misspelled it I just realized, Lol!) But last year I was a Teacher assisstant for an english class where they read the book Lady Windemere's Fan. I thought it would be a good name for a fan, Windemere, get it?:rotfl:

Some pictures on my desk....
DSCI0018.jpg

Yes I even brought my WDW Park maps with me...every college student needs those right? :rolleyes1

My Mickey bedside caddy that my Mom made for me!
DSCI0020.jpg

and lastly here's my side of our wardrobe! (It's pretty much stuffed and about to explode already:laughing:)
DSCI0024.jpg

It's definitely a lot less space than I'm used to, but it already sort of feels like home. Oh and here is a picture of my roommates and I!

306263_2141271905492_1657041565_2118181_4567874_n.jpg

This was after our first day of classes and we kind of went crazy with photobooth! Haha And for some reason I grabbed my ears to wear in the photos:cool2:

Last but not least, here's something most college kids probably never get to do...go to the college President's house and talk with him! Every year the President of our college invites all of the Freshman over for dessert at his house (which is gorgeous, it's a beautiful mansion that is right on the river. So pretty!!) So here's some of my hallmates and I with the Prez. :)

306252_2162810683948_1657041565_2144332_2879783_n.jpg

So that's about it for now! Stay tuned for my last wrap up post...that I'm pretty much dreading writing, so it may be awhile;)

Up Next: Wrap up about the trip, favorite moments, future trips, and the final goodbye for this TR! :(

Up Next: Wrap up about the trip, favorite moments, future trips, and the final goodbye for this TR! :(

Your dorm looks great :) I am still in the process of decorating my part of the room and you have motivated me to put up more disney things. I had class during the school's poster sale so I didn't get a chance to get some poster and stuff to decorate my room. I need to get some more stuff today :) I love how pretty much everything in there is disney!

Your dorm looks fantastic! I don't think one area of the room could get any more Disney-fied than that. Seriously! I love the "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" plaque and all the Disney photos behind it. Your little Princess friends by your bunk are cute too :goodvibes I think I could go on and on about it. And yeah, Disney park maps SHOULD be college required or required wherever you go to school whatever level for that matter :teeth: LOL @ Lady Windemere and all of your roommates having to name everything  And that's so cool you got to meet the President of your school, it looked like you guys had a fun time. (:

Awwww... only one more update. I be sad :( Hopefully there will be many future trips so I can read more of your awesome TRs =D Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I love your dorm room and all of your Disney decorations! :thumbsup2 And it's a definite plus having a roommate who likes Disney too. Hope your semester is going well so far!
