Let's Roast This Pig!- A March/April Birthday TR [Final Wrap Up! 9/27]

The music from Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade is awesome, right? I could listen to it over and over again. Now, if only I've had the chance to see the parade lololol That's so cute that King Louie kissed you :teeth: Sorry it wasn't exactly what you expected. :( I'm sure it was just nice on your birthday. And you shouldn't be surprised by random people saying happy birthday to you, when I was last there, one of the girls that I was... touring with (?) got happy birthdays from CMs and like 5 random people walking by. We thought it was pretty funny, though she thought it was a bit creepy LOL Another reason to get the Birthday pin hahaha :D Can't wait to read about your ADR at 1900 Park Fare! :mickeyjum

Haha yes you definitely need to see that parade! Well I'd never been to Disney for a birthday before, so it was all kinda surprising to me, lol. I think it's awesome though that random people will wish each other happy birthday. After that guy said happy birthday to me, 2 days later in MK I wished a lady who was wearing a birthday button a happy birthday to pass on the magic:wizard:

Your AK looks so fun. I am still mad at myself for missing FOTLK. I wanted to see it, but Caitlin wanted to see Nemo. Guess who won? I really think we would have liked FOTLK much better, it looks amazing.

I have to see the parade one day. They need to move it up to noon or something. We never make it past lunch time since we always get too hot.

I love the PP balloon pictures. I was trying to get some magic shots this trip, but only managed maybe 2 with Caitlin. :headache:

I'm sorry you missed FOTLK:guilty: I was curious about Nemo too but glad that we saw Lion King instead. You know that's a good idea, because it really is so hot at AK that a lot of people probably never get to see the parade! The PP pictures were so much fun, I'd always wanted to do one of those. I hope you can get more magic shots next trip, I think it's all about getting the right PP photographers sometimes. The guy who did the balloon pics for me was the only one who asked the whole trip!

It was so neat to meet you today! And now I'm all caught up on your TR.

- love you Minnie nails ... you did a great job.

- REagan Natl??? did you get a really good deal? We always fly out of Dulles, but then SW went to 1-stop and we started taking the Autotrain instead.

- I love your coordination -- Mickey shirt, necklace and watch

- YAH!! Your college has a Disney club -- that is awesome!

- Even better that DCP comes to your college. I soooo wish they came to mine but they did not. IN fact, I didn't really know about the college program at the time, so ended up doing one in Washington, DC instead. Thus, what brought me to this area.

- Tren-D is now my new favorite shop!!! I got 2 shirts there that are so adorable.

- Wow, a Goofy's Candy Company creation can last you 3 days??!?? Mine last one night!:rotfl2:

- Your Mickey pillowcase is the same one that my 2 year old uses!!

- Wow, your lang arts teacher made a BIG mistake!!

- Thanks for posting the Rainy Day Calvalcade. I never heard of that before and have been going to Disney for over 30+ years and on Dis now for 4 years. I love that Disney does that!!

- If you find how to resize all PB pics at once, please let me know, too.

- You are gorgeous in your prom pictures. I love your mermaid dress, your hair, accessories, etc. So pretty!

- I ended up splurging on 2 Mickey flamingos!!

- the Japanese drummers are so neat to watch and listen to

- Happy belated Graduation and Birthday!!

It was so neat to meet you today! And now I'm all caught up on your TR.

Yes it was so cool meeting you too! I still can't believe that happened, I literally just found your TR about 3 days ago! Wow that's awesome, you caught up fast.

- love you Minnie nails ... you did a great job.

Thank you, they were so much fun to do!

- REagan Natl??? did you get a really good deal? We always fly out of Dulles, but then SW went to 1-stop and we started taking the Autotrain instead.

Yeah, my Dad got us a pretty good deal on the flights from Reagan. I believe it was under $500 each for roundtrip which he seemed to think was a good deal!

- I love your coordination -- Mickey shirt, necklace and watch

Haha thank you, I wear so much Mickey stuff it's crazy sometimes:goodvibes

- YAH!! Your college has a Disney club -- that is awesome!

I know!!!! I'm so excited to join it, I was going to start one myself but someone beat me to it!

- Even better that DCP comes to your college. I soooo wish they came to mine but they did not. IN fact, I didn't really know about the college program at the time, so ended up doing one in Washington, DC instead. Thus, what brought me to this area.

Yes I'm glad they come to CNU because I will definitely be first in line to sign up! Lol. That stinks that they didn't come to your college. What school did you go to?

- Tren-D is now my new favorite shop!!! I got 2 shirts there that are so adorable.

I know, me too!! I could spend hours in that store and not be bored, I love everything in there!

- Wow, a Goofy's Candy Company creation can last you 3 days??!?? Mine last one night!:rotfl2:

LOL! I probably could have eaten it in one night but I probably wouldn't have been able to sleep very well due to being so stuffed!

- Your Mickey pillowcase is the same one that my 2 year old uses!!

Really?! That is so ironic and very cool. I love that pillowcase:)

- Wow, your lang arts teacher made a BIG mistake!!

Yeah, I'm definitely glad to be done with that lady:rolleyes:

- Thanks for posting the Rainy Day Calvalcade. I never heard of that before and have been going to Disney for over 30+ years and on Dis now for 4 years. I love that Disney does that!!

Yeah I hadn't known about it either, it seems a lot of people don't. It really is such a cute and very smart idea!

- If you find how to resize all PB pics at once, please let me know, too.

Lol, still haven't figured that one out yet. Maybe if all us DISers complained to PB they'd give us a magic button to do that?!:rotfl:

- You are gorgeous in your prom pictures. I love your mermaid dress, your hair, accessories, etc. So pretty!

Aw thank you! It was a fun night, just too stressful.

- I ended up splurging on 2 Mickey flamingos!!

No way! I'm jealous, they are so cute!!!

- the Japanese drummers are so neat to watch and listen to

Yes they are so amazing!

- Happy belated Graduation and Birthday!!

Thank you so much!:)

March 30, 2011- Birthday Dinner :cake:(Part 1)

So I last left off with us leaving AK and heading back to ASMo. to get ready for my birthday dinner. We left at the perfect time because as soon as we boarded the bus it started to thunderstorm, BIG time!

We got back to the resort and quickly ran to our room. We still had awhile till we had to leave so my Mom and I headed to the food court to get some of the delicious tea in our refillable mugs while my Dad took a nap back in the room:rolleyes:

While we were getting our tea the rain got really really bad. It was raining so hard at one point that all you could see outside was pure white:scared1:

Needless to say, my Mom and I hung out in the ASMo food court for awhile for the insane thunderstorm to blow over.

It finally let up and we got back to the room to get dressed up for dinner!

Our reservation was for 7:30 and I believe we left at about 6:15 ish since we'd never been on the resort monorail before, let alone eaten TS at Disney before! On our way out we spotted a cute little bunny in the grassy area below outside our room!

DSCI0388.jpg

My Mom has 3 rabbits at home so we were excited to see this little guy!

We didn't have to wait too long for the bus and soon enough we were arriving at MK. On the way over to the monorail I spotted a Tron sign.

DSCI0389.jpg

Back in the winter time I became obsessed with everything Tron. I think it was just being cooped up in the house too much that I needed something to obsess over but my inner geek definitely came out for a few months! I still love Tron, but I'm glad to be back to my normal girly self now!

We got in line for the resort Monorail then, and pretty soon it was pulling up.

DSCI0390.jpg

I was super excited to see it, who doesn't love the Monorail?!

DSCI0391.jpg

As the Monorail took off, I looked behind the bench we were sitting on and spotted this....

DSCI0392.jpg

Apparently someone was having a really good time on the Monorail that day!:lmao: My parents and I were cracking up, that's definitely not something you'd expect to see at Disney!

DSCI0393.jpg

DSCI0394.jpg

Goodbye MK!

DSCI0396.jpg

We went through the Contemporary...

DSCI0395.jpg

DSCI0398.jpg

(I'd LOVE to stay here someday)

...then the Poly

DSCI0400.jpg

I wouldn't mind staying here someday either:cloud9:

And finally we were at the Grand Floridian!!

DSCI0401.jpg

I had never been inside a Deluxe Resort and oh my gosh, this one is just so beautiful. Part of the reason why I booked 1900 PF for my bday dinner was just so I could see the inside of the GF.

DSCI0402.jpg

DSCI0403.jpg

DSCI0404.jpg

DSCI0405.jpg

DSCI0407.jpg

After ogling at the beautifulness of the place (and walking around in circles trying to find where the heck the restaurant was!) we checked in and a rather snooty older woman CM handed us the buzzer and told us to wait. I was worried all the CM's there would be like her, but you all will find out later if that happened ;)

DSCI0406.jpg

We waited in the lobby for a while then gave up and decided to go out in the main lobby and sit. Soon after we sat down the buzzer went off and we were more than ready for a great dinner!

Up Next: Food, food, and more food. Plus the Evil Stepmother is not very fond of the birthday girl!

Love the update:thumbsup2 The GF is very pretty. It is probably my last choice of the monorail resorts to stay at but it is still on my list of must dos. I am hoping for a girls only trip one day and would probably stay there since DH hates GF. GF has so many yummy looking restaurants and I would love to try the tea one day. It does seem a bit stuffy to me and I feel like I wouldn't want to get anything dirty or sit anywhere, but I guess you get over that when you stay there.

Caitlin and I were looking at Halloween costumes yesterday and I told her I might go as the girl from Tron. Just need to lose some of my tubbiness to pull off the outfit, otherwise maybe Mrs. potts.

I can't wait to hear about Park Fare. Caitlin hates mean characters and refuses to go here, but I really want to try it.

Aren't the thunderstorms in Florida awful? I've been luckily not to be caught in them while going to the parks, but I've seen them. On my first trip, there was a really bad one that hit us the first day we were there (non-park day) and yeah, it came down really hard. It was at night, so that was good too. And I loved sitting outside during the "calm before the storm". But it seems you were smack in the middle of it, but at least it let up when you went to the Grand Floridian for your ADRs. That place looks gorgeous! I would so make a one-hour stay there just to sit in the lobby. Oh, so pretty :goodvibes Can't wait to read about your experience at 1900 Park Fare! :mickeyjum

That would be so fun to stay at the GF on a girls trip! I was actually thinking my Mom and I could do the same thing too, it just feels like a girly resort. Yeah we definitely felt the stufiness going on there and we felt a little out of place at times.

You should totally go as her for Halloween, you could definitely pull it off! I had plans to make one of the costumes from the movie for Halloween but then I realized I can't sew at all so I'll probably end up just buying one.

Yeah the characters at Park Fare can be a little mean, but really only the Evil Stepmother was actually mean. The stepsisters were just goofy and mean to each other really, Lol!

Yeah they can be very intense! That's really lucky that you've never been caught in one on a park day. I love sitting outside before a storm too, sometimes during it as well, Lol! And yes the GF is absolutely gorgeous! The lobby is so relaxing, especially when they have the band playing up above:cloud9:

Can't wait to hear about your dinner and if you tried the strawberry soup.

Sorry to hear about that rainstorm...sounded bad.

I love walking around the GF, too. DH and I consider that our date night place. We go to Narcoosee and then walk around the resort, watch the fireworks and water parade. Very romantic ... but definitely not a manly resort!

Sorry to hear the hostess was snooty. Maybe she was upset b/c she couldn't be Lady Tremaine!

Great parade pictures! A couple years ago, we actually got picked to ride in the parade...we were on Mickey's car!! It was a lot of fun. That is cool that one of the people wished you a happy birthday. I know when we rode in it my dad said that he would try to focus on a few people and wave to them. So maybe that's what he was doing too. :goodvibes

It still is nice reading another TR from someone who had to put up with all that rain like we did. UGH it still irritates me to this day! :sad2:

Haha to be honest I had no clue about the strawberry soup when we went! But now I've read all these TR's where people are obsessed with that stuff so I'm kicking myself for not researching PF a little more:headache:

The storm was bad, but it was kind of fun being trapped in the main building for awhile!

That sounds like a lovely date night! And yes definitely not a manly resort, Lol.

LOL! That is a good one, I think you're right! Because she definitely could have been a great one:rotfl:

Thank you! No way, that is so awesome!! I would love to do that, but I'm pretty sure my parents would never give up their time to sleep in on vacation just to get their early to be picked:sad2: That's awesome though that your Dad tried to focus on certain people in the crowd though. I love it when guests try and keep the magic going too!:)

Yes it nice to have another TR to relate to! It still bugs me too, I keep thinking that if it hadn't rained so much my parents would have enjoyed it more.

I've been absent from the boards for a while but I'm back and all caught up.

Congratulations on graduating! I would say welcome to the real world but honestly, I don't think college is the real world quite yet.

Love your convo with Mulan! Also, that's cool that you got to see the baby gorilla. We were hoping to see it but mama and baby never made an appearance. Ah well.

I know, it's good to see you back! And thank you! Haha yeah I agree it definitely isn't the real world yet.

Yeah our convo. was great! I wished I could have talked to her longer though. That stinks that you didn't get to see the baby gorilla, it was very cute. Gorillas kinda creep me out though so I tried to leave quickly!:rotfl:

March 30, 2011- Birthday dinner! :cake:(Part 2)

After our buzzer went off we then got in line for our family picture to be taken. My Mom was not so keen on this part but I think our picture turned out quite nice.

IMG.jpg

You can't see it that well but I love how the photographer made my Mom and I point our toes:laughing:

After our picture they had us wait a few minutes before they opened the doors to let us in. Soon enough they let us in and we were shown to our table. I thought our table was great. It was one of the half booth half chair kind, so my Mom and I quickly snagged the booth side:laughing:

Our waiter for the night was Michael, who was amazing! He was so friendly, I think he told us he'd been working there for about 20 some years.

My parents ordered a bottle of wine and then wanted to go get food immediately, but Lady Tremaine was right next to us so we decided to wait.
She came to our table, gave one look at me and said "Your not after any Princes are you??":snooty:

I replied "Uhmm no?"

She said "Good! I don't want you stealing any of them from my daughters!"
:rotfl: My Mom was cracking up, Lady T quickly became her favorite character!

DSCI0408.jpg

We didn't see anyone else coming so we quickly went up to get some delicious food! I was a bad DISer and didn't take a picture of it the first time, but I took a picture of my seconds don't worry!

I actually wasn't quite impressed with the food, it was good don't get me wrong, but I'm a very picky eater! Plus there was no mac and cheese at the kids station which I had wanted to try.

As we were eating, Prince Charming came around next. He was so sweet and very adorable:lovestruc He was definitely how I pictured Prince Charming to be, he even asked me if we had met before:love:

DSCI0409.jpg

DSCI0410.jpg

A view from where we were sitting

After having to regretfully say goodbye to the Prince, Anastasia came around next. She was hilarious!! My Mom and I both loved her sense of humor. As she was signing my autograph book my Mom said "But you don't look mean!"

Anastasia replied "Well neither do you!":lmao: She also loved how sparkly my Mom's shirt was. Anastasia became my Mom's 2nd favorite character then. Lol!

DSCI0411.jpg

Continued in next post

Cinderella came around a while later and she was definitely a perfect one. She was very sweet and my Mom and I even convinced my Dad to take a picture with her!

DSCI0412.jpg

DSCI0424.jpg

He turned so red when she taught him how to stand like a prince.:cutie:

There was a Mom and her little girl sitting by us, they were both so sweet. The Mom offered to take a picture of all of us with Cindy.

DSCI0425.jpg

After Cindy left we went back for seconds. Here was my plate this time. The pasta was pretty good, and I tried the seafood salad because I love calamari and shrimp! My parents both loved the salmon, I thought it was okay, I'm just not a fish type of person!

DSCI0416.jpg

Believe me I ate much more than just that!

DSCI0414.jpg

After awhile, Michael brought out my birthday cupcake! It was so huge, I have the biggest sweet tooth ever, but I couldn't finish it! :scared1:

DSCI0419.jpg

DSCI0420.jpg

Not two minutes later, he brought this to our table too! Every table got one, I was on sugar overload here! After trying to force a few bites of ice cream down I had to stop. Lol

DSCI0417.jpg

I never thought there was such a thing as too much sugar...until that night!

Now if you realized that a character still hadn't come yet, you're right. Drizella still had not been by! So we asked Michael and he went to go ask her to stop by.

She came over quickly and was just as hilarious as her sister. She asked me if I liked Cinderella.
I said well yeah!

She replied "WHY?! She talks to rats!!!":rotfl:

DSCI0423.jpg

Lady T walked by again then, and just glared at me...

Now that we'd met all the characters, and finishes as much of our desserts as we could possibly handle, we decided to head out. Michael was great, and after we paid he wished me happy birthday again.

On the way out we decided to hit DTD one more time since we wanted to shop a bit. We made a big mistake here by riding the monorail back to MK then realizing we should have just waited for the bus at GF. We got in line for a random resort, the Boardwalk:headache:, only to then drive like 25 minutes there, and wait for the DTD bus once we got there!

We wasted a lot of time doing this, but we're still new to the whole bus system/resort thing so we learned our lesson! We got to DTD pretty late, it was around 11 I think. It started to rain again after we got off the bus, but it wasn't too bad.

We stopped by the pin store first, where that bottle of wine my parents had at dinner started to set in! They actually wanted their picture taken, that's when I knew they'd had too much to drink:rotfl2:

DSCI0426.jpg

We then ran over to WOD to shop some. I bought myself a pair of cute hidden Mickey black sandals and one of those cute rainbow Mickey stretch bracelets.

On our way out we stopped by the kitchen store to look.

DSCI0427.jpg

I loved this Pooh & Tigger salt and pepper shaker!

DSCI0428.jpg

Can I have this all please?!

We didn't have too much time to look around but I'm glad we went to DTD.
We were all dead tired after a long day and got back to our room around 12:30ish. I had had an amazing 18th birthday but all I could think about was a good night's sleep.
We all slept like logs that night as we had another fun and very full park day ahead of us!

Up Next: Rain...yet again:sad2:

Great update!

I booked Park Fare for our weekend trip in Oct. Caitlin has always refused to go but actually wants to go this time. Do Cinderella and Prince Charming still dance together? She wants to see that. Also she only wants to go if the characters come over separately, she doesn't mind the stepsisters by themselves but doesn't want all 3 mean characters coming over together:confused3

I love you pictures of the kitchen store. That was were I bought most of my souvenirs last trip, including that adorable WTP salt shaker.

We will be relying soley on WDW transportation in Oct. so I have to research those things I might forget like you can only get a resort bus to DTD right? Anything you can think of that might be helpful?

Sounds like you had a great time at 1900 Park Fare! (: Those were some great interactions with the characters. I love the one with Anastasia, just so in-character and same with Lady Tremaine. The Tremaines are such great characters. If only someone had proposed to either Anastasia or Drizella, that would've been HILARIOUS! LOL But it seemed like you had fun and those desserts look REALLY good! :goodvibes I have to go there now. :thumbsup2 That's funny you had trouble with the whole bus system to DTD, I was in the same situation on my last trip, but at least you made it there and sounds like you had an awesome time :) Thumbs up to the Mickey flip flops! :D Can't wait to read about your next full park day (hope that rain isn't too much of a problem :))! :mickeyjum

Ahh yes, more lovely rain...:(

Oh that's great, you two will love it! Yes they do still dance together. My Dad took a video of it on his phone but I couldn't figure out how to put it on here. And yes they all come by separately. That would be kind of intimidating having all 3 of them come over at once, but the stepsisters are really more funny than they are mean.

Yeah I remembered seeing your pic of the WTP salt shaker on your last update, I thought that was pretty ironic!

I'm definitely no WDW expert yet, but yes only the resort buses go to DTD, which I think is pretty silly. That was really the only problem we had all week with the transportation, the buses were great and we never had to wait long at all!

Yes they were amazing, probably the best character interactions of the whole trip (except for a certain pair in MK...:rolleyes1) The desserts were delicious!!! I just wish I'd had room to finish them:laughing: Yeah the resort bus to DTD thing just irks me, it just seems silly not to have a few more buses go to the parks:confused3

Lol yes she was quite hilarious! I'm glad we asked our waiter to get her to stop by and didn't just leave without meeting her. Oh yes you definitely need to go, Prince Charming is totally worth the trip to 1900PF!! hahaha
And yes, the rain, it definitely did not want to leave us that week did it?:sad2:

Loved the update and loved the pictures from 1900 park Fare! One of our favorite character meals of our trips! Those sisters are hilarious!

I agree with you...I want all the kitchen Mickey stuff too:thumbsup2

Thank you! Yes they are a hoot! It's nice to take a break from all the sweet princesses and talk to the rude noisy stepsisters sometimes:laughing:

I know, I wish I had a beautiful big kitchen and the money to just buy all that Mickey stuff to decorate it with:cloud9:
