I found this dress on ebay and I think its super cute! What do you all think? Like it? Don't like it? (I haven't bought it, so you won't hurt my feelings, and I don't think the seller is on here ;) ).

I love this dress, but I love red and aqua together, I cleaned out my Target when they had the red and aqua summer stuff! I think you should definately buy this dress!

LOVE  LOVE  LOVE IT!!

I just made my first "no sew" tutu thanks to Castle Creations and many others. I have not sewn the two ends together yet, because dd is asleep, and I don't want to measure her waist while she is sleeping:cutie:

Is there somewhere on the boards that has a step by step printout on how to use photobucket (or other allowable site) so I can post pics? :confused3 I have the tutu, a pre-shirred walmart fabric dress, a t-shirt dress, and a pillowcase dress to show now. Well plus some others that have been purchased. Any link would be helpful!:wizard:

I just PMed you. Hopefully the directions make sense!

Brain Picking time.....

PLEASE throw some ideas out there for me!

I got 1 1/2 yard of this fabric:
mickey__colorful1.jpg

I have 4 shirts to make with it. (maybe use solid colors that match the fabric to make most of the shirt and then somehow use it for an accent piece?)
(2 adult XXL {1guy/1gal} - 1 adult medium{girl 18} and one 2T{boy 2})

Could you maybe try something like this for the guys, with your mickey fabric in place of the taupe?

That's Simplicity Pattern #4287

My DH hs a shirt similar to this (only it only has a contrasting pattern on one side) and it looks pretty cool.

Just an idea!

Gosh, I cant skip even a night. All these outfits are too cute, and I cant believe some of them are no sew. :thumbsup2

Stephres, I love the new twirl skirt!

Tink561, the outfits are too cute, I love all the stuff on the Rapunzel one!

I'm going to have to stop blinking.

Loved the wedding dress and there is absolutely no way I would have ever tried that myself. :rolleyes1

HL Auburn: would you please pm me the sellers name for the hairbows you purchased from ebay?

I was at Joanns today and saw the absolute cutest Mickey, Minnie & I believe Pluto was in there too Halloween fabric. It was a trick or treating theme. I wish I had my camera with. Thought it would look so cute for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It was a black background with the characters all dressed up for trick or treating.

Something to keep your eyes out for anyone going to Disney in October.

I think it's super cute, but I'm not comfortable w/ that much skin showing. Call me a big prude. ;)

HELP!

I'm intrigued with the strip idea, but am having a hard time visualizing it for all 4 of us. It just really stands out as more feminine in my mind.

I can sew shirts for the guys (like glorib made for her DS) so if you have a clever way to use a solid color fabric and incorporate the patterned fabric into it - that would work too!

The teen girl likes to wear (tasteful/modest) halter tops.

It's a lot harder to do cute things for boys, but I'm seeing some really clever ideas here!

I think those shirts posted a few posts back would look great on the guys! Then what about applique tops for the girls of a mickey head in that fabric?

I use picturetrail. Go to picturetrail and create an account. You can upload as many as 15, I think, Photos at a time. I usually do five. There site is pretty easy. When the photos are done uploading, you have the option of clicking image url's. Just cut and paste to Dis. See the little box with the mountain in it, above where you're reading right now. Just click that box and erase whatever is in it, and paste your url from the picturetrail website and your picture should show up. I hope this helps...

I love today's creations!!! I hope to put some of mine on tomorrow.. I am having technical difficulty with getting the computer to recognize the camera.. You all have motivated me to no end I am now a sewing fool!!! :lmao: Keep the outfits coming!!

BTW - Is anyone going to the World for Thanksgiving? I'll be on the lookout for the outfits!

I saw this and loved it too. I thought it was a tiny bit overpriced though!
very adorable though

After looking at the Ebay auction I will tell you I LOVE this dress! It is stylish and the blue adds a new dimension to it that is not usually found. I love it! The starting bid is really not that bad. I say buy it!

That on e was on my watch this item list. It is very cute.

Ok, I made one pair of overalls, but I didn't cover the bib with fabric. My next pair I plan to and I have a question. What's the best way to deal with the buttons? Should I attempt buttonholes and cover the whole thing, or simply trim fabric around them, or can I cover them and still be able to button/unbutton with a little more effort?

If you are making the camp style shirts, how about for the men, just making the sleeves out of this fabric and maybe using a solid red for the body of the shirt? You could also use this fabric to add a pocket! (or vice versa with the fabrics).

Here are answers to some questions about my JoJo skirt. Not that I mind the PMs, because I don't, but I'm going to be very busy for the next few days with my daughter's fourth b'day celebration and I don't want anyone to think I am ignoring her questions.

The fabric was all purchased within the last three weeks and was purchased at:

Wal-Mart: red/white polka dot, tiny green polka dot
Hancock: turquoise stripe, yellow swirl, pink confetti
Joann: orange stripe, green stripe, yellow stripe, multi stripe, blue/green big polka dot

I'm sorry, but I don't know the names or manufacturers of any of the fabrics.

The top tier rectangles are 4 x6 to allow for the waistband. The rest of the squares are 4x4. The ruffle is three inches high folded to make it 1.5 inches. The skirt took a long time to make, but it was not difficult.

Yes, I will be listing it with a top on ebay, either in August after our trip or perhaps not until the spring listings begin in February or March.

Yes, I can get enough fabric to make another skirt, but I probably only have the time to make one or maybe two more before our trip. Yes, I did find a seller to make an applique top. After our trip I'm going to learn to applique, but I want something perfect to go with this skirt and I know that this seller will do it. I'm also going to use Zazzle (is that the right name?) to make a t-shirt to go with it so that she will have two shirts.

Thank you for all of the compliments! I am happy with it, mostly because my daughter loves it.

I just got addicted to this thread yesterday. I wanted to show DH a dress that was made but now I can't find the page it was on. Maybe can direct me?

It was a red and white polka dot halter dress with two strips of black ribbon at the bodice and a Minnie and the skirt had black stars with minnies and lots of pretty ribbon....

TIA

I think that was posted by MoeFam on page 240. It's post number 3595. :)

It's done! Phew- This is the WalMart dress I did for Laila's 2nd birthday party on Sunday, the theme is Minnie Mouse.

Please ignore her more than thrilled expression- she has inherited her mama's dramatic streak!

I also included one pic of the under skirt, made of muslin that I attached the tulle to. I am using it under another skirt as well.

I like this idea. With only 1 1/2 yards of fabric you can't do much more.
