Would you rather: 1 week DL or 2 short DL/WDW trips?

It's looking possible that we will cancel our spring break trip and could use some opinions/advice. We did a couple WDW trips last year, mostly resort days and have spent 1-2 days in each park. Never been to DL before. 2 adults and a preschooler. We typically drive to WDW although flights are relatively inexpensive and plentiful, DL will be a first time flight. My plan is to return to DL in the future as part of an extended california trip.

Canceling our spring break trip opens up some more vacation days and flight credit.

Option 1 (current booking):
July - 2 park days at DL (flight and hotel booked)
August - 3 nights at WDW with no park days (hotel booked but no flight yet)
Use remaining flight credit (2 different airlines) to book a week in Orlando at christmas

Option 2:
July - week at DL with 4 park days/2 resort days
Use the flight credit (just 1 airline) to book a week in Orlando at christmas or somewhere else.

We may be sick again at christmas and have to cancel but flight credit expires at the end of the year. I am also feeling leary of the christmas crowds.

What would you choose?

i wouldn't do a two day only at Disneyland that entailed flying from anywhere. even though I live on the west coast and it's a relatively short flight it's just not worth the time it takes dealing with airports/travel to and from. going in July would make 2 days less appealing to me b/c it's very busy so there's lots of time standing in the heat (and my friends who grew up/live in humid heat tell me they have the same complaints/issues with dry california heat that those of that grew up with it have with even much lower temp humid heat). I think just 2 days and you would maybe see allot but not nesc. get to DO allot.
