Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 2

We're taking my daughter for her first visit to Disney this Nov. We're going to do the Perfectly Princess Tea Party (should they wear the princess dress for this or could I make her a cute dress? Would she feel left out if she wasn't in a princess dress?), breakfast at the castle, and also the Thanksgiving dinner at the Campground. Does anyone out there have ideas for these specific activities? I really love the outfits that are floating around out there!

Hi!

We're going to BOTH tea parties when we're going over Christmas. For the Alice one, I am currently making an Alice halter and tea pots on the jeans. For the Sleeping Beauty one, I have a custom made Sleeping Beauty dress....IDENTICAL to Sleeping Beauty's. My daugther loves it! I'll try to take a picture and upload it.

I was afraid of that!! So we'll bring on the princess dresses!! I guess that she could change in to something that I make afterwards huh?!

This is what my daughter is wearing to Cinderella's Royal Table:

Ok, girls, I *think* I'm almost done with my kiddos clothing. Can you all take a look at my pre-trip report (all of the pictures are listed there) and tell me if I need anymore clothes? I'm still working on my son's Safari overalls, sorcerer overalls (for MGM) and Stitch overalls for Ohanas. Other than that, how does everything look?

Wow, everything looks great. I love the bottlecap necklaces.

Could someone also PM me the name of the seller for the Cinderella outfit?

I am so happy that I finished two Fourth of July twirly skirts for my two DGDs (and I did it before the 4th!) and I would not have if it wasn't for this board. I had forgotten about using dental floss for gathering when doing long pieces and that was such a time saver--I just zipped through it. Thanks to whoever posted that tip. Each tier was a different pattern (the bottom tier was the firecraker that Steph used, middle a red & white stripe w/blue starts, and the top a red on red star, all from Joanne's) and they really did look great when I finished them. Unfortunately, I quickly put them in the mail and did not get to take a photo. I think what took me the most time was finishing off the seam allowances.

Also, a few pages back when a poster mentioned about not using inexpensive thread -- I heartily agree with that one. I do use the expensive stuff and purchase it at Joanne's when they have their 40% coupons. It is well worth the money. Even the C&C doesn't work for me -- it just "balls" up because it separates from the core and then breaks in the middle of a seam.

I want to attempt appliques and am also concerned about doing the smaller facial features. Castle Creations posted some hints on appliquing many pages back and I do appreciate those hints. I am just in awe -- and envious-- of the beautiful applique work that is posted

Please keep posting. This thread is my addiction. It's a good thing!

Could you maybe try something like this for the guys, with your mickey fabric in place of the taupe?

That's Simplicity Pattern #4287

My DH hs a shirt similar to this (only it only has a contrasting pattern on one side) and it looks pretty cool.

Just an idea!

Whaddya think? (matching dark blue for DH and matching light blue for DS?)

ObsessedwiththeMouse -- You're children are going to be on the "Best Dressed List." WOW -- everything is gorgeous!

Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am addicted to sewing clothes for my daughter!

We are leaving for vacation tomorrow and she wanted something cozy (and princess) to wear to bed:

I did not do a good job on the neck and arm holes, but it was my first time and she is thrilled. See you guys in a week: happy sewing!

Here is what I made today for AK:simba: . I hope it won't get too cool that day...

Isabelle said the leopard print ribbon bothered her, so I switched it out for a softer brown. I may add the mickey head to her capris too. The brown top is mine, I haven't finished the applique. DH will have a small mh on left breast, DS will have khaki overalls with the same fabric added and mh.

Wooohoooo! You've given me some great ideas now. I bought that same fabric because my son loves all things Animal Kingdom...didn't know what I was going to do with it though...you've given me something to start from. Looks great!

I can't wait to see pics of Alice. She and Belle are my favorites!

I think it looks adorable-and you know, we all had to start somewhere, so I would not even worry! Your DD looks very happy with it-too cute! :cutie:

Here's a little no sew tank I made. I just used underwonder on it. You think that will hold up for a few days? I originally was going to applique it on, but working with stretchy knit is not fun. I bought sew in printer fabric stuff, and just printed the pic on it, ironed it, and attached it.

I sorta learned to appliqué this week and have been working on a pirate outfit for DS. It was a lot of fun! Some areas are kind of rough, but he loves it and that's what matters, right!? I think the shirt might be a little small - I used a new pattern and although his weight/height fall in the size 5 range, I think it looks small. May have to make him a 6 - hopefully I can find more fabric. I also used an older pair of jeans just in case I seriously messed them up, so they look a little ratty. Oh well.

All in all, though, I think it turned out ok

And, since I don't know how to do the multi-quote thing and I've been gone a few days, I must just say that all the new outfits are adorable! Awesome job, everyone! I especially love the Jojo skirt!

Ooooh...I have this fabric too! (Can you tell I have too much fabric and not enough time?) :rotfl: DH and both boys are getting this same shirt-minus the pirate on the back. I like what you did with the jeans too. The pirate ship turned out very cool! :thumbsup2

I've updated my very first thing I ever sewed. I turned the dress into a swing top and added knit shorts. I added the turqoise band and even did some fancy stitching! It's amazing what you learn when you read the owners manual!:woohoo: I'm going to add some swarskian (sp) crystals above Nemo for bubbles and randomly on the top too. Whatcha think?

AWWW. it looks cute! So does your daughter. She is the one that was requesting the princess nightgown, right? You are so sweet to make that for her right before you leave!

I saw this fabric a few days ago and said that would be great for AK! I don't think we are going to go there. We are going to Sea World instead. So I didn't get any, but now seeing it used maybe she needs an outfit anyway. Funny how great minds think alike! Oh, and your daughter looks gorgeous!
