after Thanksgiving? Specifically, the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving? We were going to check in that Sunday, but some family members think checking in that Saturday may work better. What say all of you?? Thanks!! :D :D

Once at that time of the year and crowds were massive. With a good plan and arrive early you canstill have a great time. Our trip was in 1996 so crowd patterns may have changed some since then.Other posters may give you more updated information. Have a great trip!!!!!!!!!:p

Crowds will fall off on Sunday afternoon and evening. For Saturday I would head over to Epcot. It is a bigger park and the crowds are not to bad. We have really enjoyed the week after Thanksgiving 3 times. Once everyone heads out on Sunday you will have the parks to yourself! :)

Are you taking a camper to FW? I have wanted to try the campground, but have always been nervous about the drive that time of year? The weather can be so unpredictable in the mid-west at that time.:)

Yes, we will be taking the camper down. Now that I think about it, I don't remember having taken it out that late in the year! But honestly, I don't remember too many blizards around Thanksgiving day. I guess we can always stay in a hotel the first night out. (The northern campgrounds close late fall.) Depends how far south we get that first night! Since you haven't stayed at FW, may I say, you MUST GO!!! It is one of the nicest campgrounds we've stayed in. You could stay there, never go into the parks and have a grand time!! Try out the Fort Wilderness forum. Not too active, but some great people there! :D

We very much want to try out FW. I have been over to the camping board, it is great. We got stuck in a late ice storm in March of 93 and ended up spending the night on the highway, when they closed the road in GA. Since then I have been a big chicken about winter travel unless we fly! Since DH does not like FL in summer, says he gets enough heat and humidity at home, we have not agreed on a perfect time to camp in FW. Please post your experience when you return and have a wonderful time!:)

You must not remember Thanksgiving, 2002. There was a blizzard that day for most of the northern half of the US.
We love to go to Disnay at Thanksgiving, but it seems like it snows here every year while we are de-icing in Pittsburgh, and we watch snow patterns on the weather channel before we head to the Magic Kingdom, which will still be crowded the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Good advice to go to EPCOT.

Was there last year. We checked in on Thanksgiving day and checked out on Monday. The first two days were pretty busy but after that we hardly had any wait time. This time of the year is a little colder than usual but not freezing cold.
