The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

Yes I would go even more often if they had a Magic Key similiar to the WDW option.
899. Valid any day you have an on site reservation. Also gives a bonus lightning lane pass for each bucket of tot tax totaling 100 bucks at vdh. Mandatory that the new self check in at the front gate say welcome home when going through the turnstiles.

Does this really constitute a premium view at the Villas? Last time we had an interior facing room –– overlooking the waterslides –– and that was perfect and actually 'premium'.

Unfortunately there are no Premium category. The Preferred though covers both sides of the tower. Most ‘Prefer’ one side over the other. When it comes to the Duo, only the ones with a balcony are on this Preferred side.

yeah I meant preferred –– and I absolutely prefer our former view to what we have now!

How long has the splash pad Mickey steamboat not been operating as it was? Last year it was regularly shooting out steam, and now it’s quite dormant and a little sad.

What about a special Key that has no blackout dates, but is valid whenever you are staying on a DVC room reservation…..

So in summary, after returning here a year since our first visit, I would be very upset if I owned at the Villas and were paying the exorbitant dues:

- poor upkeep of the common area water features
- hot tub broken
- splash pad running constantly now in ‘b-mode’
- the worst shower I can remember in any hotel, anywhere; the most anemic water pressure, the flow barely leaves the head
- on the upside, great room service and it remains a disgrace that Riviera, Aulani et al. do not offer same

Seems like anything that touches water struggles. Perhaps make sense that those installs/items were finished towards the end and it was rushed?

Also seems like the pool get's used a bit more/harsher at DH vs GC. The number of kids I've seen run over to that button to turn on the spa and smack it like it owed them money...... The lifeguards say nothing but if I have my Coke Zero within 5 feet of the spa they converge to make sure I don't break any rules LOL.
