Hey y'all! I'm starting to train more and was looking into a good stroller for running. I have an almost 4 year old who I'll be pushing (he can't quite keep up in his bike yet). I'm debating between the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 and the Bob Alterrain Pro. Any insight on which is the better choice? Or which one you prefer? Everything I'm reading they seem basically the same unless I'm missing something. TIA!

A quick google search gave me a few things for you to consider when choosing which one to get (I ran with a stroller for 2 spring/summer/fall years as I don't run outside in the winter for a variety of reasons)

-Folding. The alterrain has a 1-hand fold (which I am assuming is very similar to my 2005 revoultion where you just yank on the strap that's in the seat) where the flex requires 2 hands to fold up. Not a big deal, but with considering. The flex is a tiny bit more narrow and is lighter

-Do you run or plan to run where there are a lot of downhills? The alterrain has a handbrake which would be an important safety feature if your usual route includes up or downhills. The Flex does not have a handbrake, and if you normally (or plan to) run where it's pretty flat a handbrake might be annoying to have on your handlebar

-What is your budget? The alterrain costs $200 more. And I can't help but to encourage you to check at your local gently-used kid's stores or on marketplace for a used bob, and then consider putting some money toward accessories. Bobs are tanks, and my 2010?? model is still completely functional and going strong (I got mine used in 2019 and it's still 100% functional aside from being a little stained from use and some normal fading.

If you live where it's cold in the fall or spring, consider getting the rain cover as it makes for a great wind-break for toddlers, and gives the whole seat area a little bit of a greenhouse effect if it's cold but sunny. I also got a UV mesh cover that allows airflow, but I used it to keep bugs out/off since we have a lot of mosquitos.

I will second the get used if you can.

I have a Thule Urban Glide which I really like and put a fair number of miles on.

Relatively light, easy to use one handed as it has twist break in the center of the handle. It is very stable .

Shock absorbers seemed to work well, we have some sidewalks that can be less than even.

Has a folding sunshade that works well.

I have a three and a half year old, and unfortunately we don't run in it much any more as mine wants to push it herself One day I asked if she wanted to go for a run and I got a "ya" and she ran off and came back with her baby doll who she was going to put in the stroller to run with. That was pretty much the end of it. Still can occasionally but it's main job now is to get us to the playground.

So enjoy it while you can I'm jealous :)

Hope this is of some help.

Good points. We live on a corner lot and it's downhill two different ways from our house, so a handbrake would be nice.

I've searched fb marketplace and there's nothing for about 100 miles. And we only have 1 pre-owned place here and it's 99% clothing.

I have the Bob All Terrain Pro and it's great. The one-handed fold doesn't work as easily as advertised, but other than that I have no complaints. I don't run off-road, but some of our streets are uneven brick and it does well on that. My husband and I both run and have used it since our daughter was 4 months old - we got a new one but it's been worth every penny. If you do end up having to buy a new one, once you are finished with it you should be able to sell it because people are looking for them all the time.

I haven't seen this exact one, but there is an outdoors REI-type outlet nearby that has running strollers sometimes. I have also seen them at the REI garage sales.

I have the Thule Urban Glide too and love it.
