JUNE 2015 Discount Watch

In serious sticker shock. Just booked our trip and I really hope we get a pin

We're booked in a Nemo Suite at AoA for June 14-21. Add me to the sticker shock list. We're a family of 5, 6, or 7 (depending on whether or not our older boys travel with us) so we've always booked either 2 rooms at Pop Century or a suite at AoA. I can usually use $1,000/pp as a budget price to cover room, tickets, food, souvenirs, and gas & lodging for the drive down and back. I booked this week and we're at $1,000/pp for just the room & tickets (7 day PH)!!!! The good thing is, in 5 trips over the last 12 years -- all but one of those were in mid to late June -- we've always gotten either a general public discount or a PIN (and even when we got the PIN, there was a GP discount -- but the PIN was better for us). We'll go with or without a discount, but I really hope one comes along. I'm sure we'll have to switch to a LK or Cars suite to get the discount, but that's ok....I just want a discount!!!!

I am looking at the first or second week in June. Would love to do WL but also looking at POR or AOA. Not sure how many are going yet either.

Following :rotfl:
Husband just said let's go to disney when our daughter gets out of school.
We are looking at heading there on the 6th of June. Fingers crossed for a discount!
We will either do. POR or Coronado

I am changing resorts tonight. When I changed to my current trip for May/June 2015, I was at AoA in a Little Mermaid room. When I saw the price....no way!! We are now at CSR but when I did the math yesterday, we can stay at a value for HALF of what we are paying for CSR. I love the look of CSR (have never been) but we don't lounge around in the room enough for me to justify paying 50% more for a room. Maybe I can still hope for an additional discount for my times but saving 50% on the room sounds good to me!

Disney Visa cardholder discounts for the early part of 2015 have been released...I wish they would hurry up and release discounts for summer! Historically they haven't been released until March....I'm going crazy waiting!

We have definitely decided to stay on-site...I was waffling on that decision just based on cost, but convenience definitely wins out. Plus this trip is a "welcome home" trip for our daughter who is spending 18 months as a missionary in Honduras, and she wants to stay on-site. So on-site it will be.

I've heard about that! I have a Disney Visa but received no info, but someone said if I call they will help me. Should I call Disney? How do they typically work? I have never done one yet using my Visa. I already have the deposit down - do I need to make an additional payment to get the promotion? Sorry for all the questions but I'm in the dark!

Ah sorry, ignore my post. Silly me did not Google first but now that I have I see you must travel by March. But I do still have a question - I have already paid the deposit, so if I would like to apply the discount do I need to make an additional payment? I see the final payment must also be made via card which is fine with me.

We are going June 19-27 (so 8 nights). Right now, I have $1000/day budgeted to cover everything. We are doing lots of table service meals, though. We don't even have to buy tickets for 2 of the people!
I considered doing 6 or 7 nights, but we have 2 two year olds and a 9 year old, and I am thinking with the new FP+ system that we will need to have two days in each park if we want to have a chance to get on some attractions. There goes Disney getting my money again.:lmao:

Me too! I am wondering the same thing,I am looking at June 2nd thru the 10th at Fort Wilderness Cabins. If I pay up now, then get a pin code or room discount, will they refund me the savings? So excited!:cool1:

I've taken advantage of the Disney Visa offers after my initial booking without using it. I had to make another $200 payment with my Disney Visa in order to take advantage of the special offer. I did not, however, have to make any additional (nor the last) payment with my Disney Visa.

If I were you, I wouldn't pay in full just yet and wait and see what, if anything, Disney offers in the way of discounts. If Disney follows the same pattern and releases a special offer which covers June, we should see something around January of 2015. I've never had a problem getting a special offer/promotion applied to my existing reservation.

Thanks so much! I used my Rewards dollars for the down payment but would be totally fine making an additional $200 payment using my card. We were planning on paying it off next month but I may let the money sit in my savings account until February in order to see what promotions come out in January. We're going 5/30-6/7 so hopefully we find something great!

I am actually calling tonight to switch resorts. We can save 50% by going to a value and we're not big on hanging in the room so this trip is shaping up to be awesome. More money for souvenirs! ::yes::

You are welcome! I do believe that if I were you, I'd wait before paying it off. It may be easier than trying to get money/credit back if a discount came out and you were actually owed money.

Unless something changes drastically, I'm betting that there will be some sort of offer. Our travel dates are always the last week or two of May going into the first week or two of June. I've not paid rack rate in forever (and I've never gotten a pin code.)

Heck yeah, a 50% savings is a big deal! We have a lot of down time during our trips so a resort/room is a little bit important for us. Plus, I am an overpacker and have lots of stuff so I need the extra room. ;)

I definitely will wait now. I'd rather just hold the money in savings instead of being owed a credit of some sort. I have never done any sort of discounts or codes yet since the last time I visited WDW was January 2009 and did not have my Disney Visa then and wasn't really keeping up with any discount opportunities (silly me)!).

This is the longest trip we are going for as a couple, so I suspect we will have a ton of downtime, which is exactly what I want. My DBF isn't as big a Disney fan as I am, and our only two past trips there together were with big groups so they were a bit frantic. I want to show him Disney doesn't have to be an all-day race each day! We will be there the same time as you, maybe we'll run into each other! I love love love your trip report and you seem like a blast! In fact I've only ever truly kept up with one other trip report and that was ages ago.

Thank you mickeystoontown! I will hold off and keep fingers crossed!:goodvibes

We are a family of 6 also. So of course looking for a discount!! Our dates are 6/2/15~6/16/15.Planning on 10 days at WDW and 2 at Universal. Looking either 2 rooms at CBR or 1 at AoA.....but the prices are outragious....or possible offsite. May have our oldest come too with his GF from PA....:confused3

Hi everyone!

We love Disney in June.
I am just now starting to look around. Hoping for 5 days onsite the first week of June.

This will be our 4th trip and we have always stayed Value and had the QSDP.
I am considering Carribean Beach Resort this time and no dining plan.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

Does anyone know do you have to use your Disney Visa card to get the discounts? I have one but haven't used it to book

IF you go to the DDP forum here on the Dis, you will get lots of opinions, thoughts, and ::shudder MATH!! :rotfl:

It really depends on you, and your needs, and your style of dining in June...

I've done both - and the early days of the Dining plan included appetizers AND tip, that was a no brainer! (miss those days) Now that you are paying the tip and no appetizer, we tend to dine differently.

some meals (TS) dd only eats an appetizer. But I will admit when I looked at the price of CRT for 2015 :scared1: I may need to rethink things ($75 for CRT is ridiculous imho heck even $50, and Askerhaus you no longer get pictures for the price, so in effect that one went up also!) LUCKILY for us, dd is 17, so we've done CRT, and Askerhaus... but she does love visiting the Princesses... so :confused3

I still think eating our style we'll save in the long run by OOP, and not doing the DDP, but I'm still crunching numbers!
