I'm with you....full-on planning already. I had our plans semi-done then my daughter called and she and her husband and her in-laws may be coming too. They were going to meet us during the first week of our trip but are now planning on the second week we are there. Good thing I like making lists and spreadsheets and notes and....you get my drift. :rotfl:

A big family trip!! The only time we did a trip with that much family was when Disney did the " Give a Day, Get a Day" promotion. We were all there for the weekend but didn't all go to the same parks, so we only met up for dinner each day. I'm hoping to convince all of my family to do a big trip in two years when my sisters' babies are a bit older. Would you be willing to share your spreadsheet format? I've been struggling to come up with a format that I like.

Hoping to go 1st week of June. After my son's graduation. Most likely will be booking for the senior class. They are a VERY small class with VERY few kids. But it would be lots of fun! Crossing fingers for something! Last year I had a pin code for free dining (well...maybe the year before). THAT would be awesome. but not expecting it. ANY type of discount would be good.

I've never been so discouraged looking at prices! :scared: We've never gone during the summer, and have only booked due to discounts, well, dd in high school as well as some of the many changes at Disney have put me off...

dh and dd talked, and they decided to over rule me :rotfl2: Plan a trip, looking at everyone's summer calendar (camps) we're going in JUNE? :confused3

and I'm also a planner, an über planner. We'll be there for DH's birthday, so more plans (custom cake anyone?) Can I please get a discount? :worship:

hope there's hope!

Me too! Me too! I've got a vacation package in my cart on my log in, and also DH's. I've also ordered DVDs on both, created maps on both, etc. I'm hoping that this might trigger a pin code. Lol...please please please?

We're going in June on DHs birthday, and I am thinking a custom cake already :rotfl:

We have always gone in June or July though.

There was a time where I dreamed of going to Disney for all our vacations. I know what you mean about the changes. Now I am thinking we will do this trip, maybe a Disney cruise, and then one more Disneyworld trip (sometime before my twins turn 10)---so only 2 trips and a cruise over the next 20 years or so. The price point for what you get is climbing too high, and I'm thinking we will start doing other things as a family.

I should check into this custom cake stuff. Our 14th anniversary is only 2 weeks after our trip, so we should celebrate while we are there.

I have family visiting me around that time so I'm just posting here to keep in the loop in case there is anything good they can use :)

The custom cake thread is huge - the first page gives the information, then its mostly people asking questions, a few posts pictures the best advice is to figure out what you want in a cake, and where you want it baked, then book a restaurant based on the cake - for instance when dd turned 12 I think, I knew I wanted one from Grand Floridian so we booked 1900 Park Fare -

I will say after reading the thread I won't get a cake delivered to Biergarten :rotfl2: and I may just order one from wegoshop, they can get us a cake from Publix, the decadent cakes are delicious! (and about $50 cheaper! lol)

Ummm...that's an understatement. Lolololololol!! I tried reading the Cake Chatter thread. SO much information! Lol. I gave up. BUT I did find a website with concise information about it. Basically, what I learned was the Grand Floridian is the best place to order from, there are lots of flavors (dark chocolate raspberry mousse? Uh...YES PLEASE!!), and to get the best result on a custom, ask for the pastry chefs email so you can speak directly with them.

Now I just have to wait since you can't order anything until a month before. Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

dates are set! we will be there on June 19, little mermaid room AoA.

Should I book now? or wait for a discount?
If I book it and there is a discount, will they honor it?
what is this pin everybody talks about? :)

It's been 4 years since my last time there, a lot has changed!

Since the opening of the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA, they have not been included in any special promotions offered by Disney. The reason? They have had no problem filling the rooms without any discount.

A pin code are special codes (discounts) that are sent out randomly to potential guests. They are assigned to that person only and are usually a bit better than public discounts.

You are right, a lot has changed in 4 years. You'll get to see all sorts of new things!

Going June 28- July 6 for our honeymoon & my birthday, too.
I know it's peak but so hopeful for some kind of break on the cost...we'll see. Atleast we'll get one more holiday marked off our list to visit during.

The first 2 posts in that thread have all the information, the other posts are either pictures are asking questions that the first 2 posts could answer (besides opinions of which is a better bakery)

LurkyLoo is the person that maintains that thread and she has a blog, and I believe she did a website with the information as well... http://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/order-cake/ its nice to see pictures next to the information

In the end we usually like to take a break and eat at the Grand Tea and I usually special order in advance the Cinderella slipper...

The other option is if I order from wegoshop, they'll make a stop at publix, publix has decadent chocolate cakes http://www.publix.com/food/catalog/Bakery/DecadentDesserts/Home.do just don't forget to get paper plates and forks!
