Touring Plans Room Request Feature Ending April 19

I’m sorry to hear that. There’s so much I enjoy about their product!!

Something guests at Pop have been finding success with is to send room requests via snail mail. This might be something you may wish to try with the room requester tool ending? TP will still offer all of their room locator services, just not fax the actual request on a guest’s behalf.

Hopefully their other tools and room info will still be a help to you.

The reason for this change is that Disney wants all guests to go through My Disney Experience’s room request feature going forward. That makes sense for a number of reasons, including consistency and efficiency.

I wonder if sending Pop a snail mail request will still even be an option now. I hope so.

Looks like they are still offering the room finder feature. You just have to send the actual request yourself. So not a total loss.

Looks like they want you to go through only MDE now. I liked being able to choose specific rooms and typing out what and why we hoped for in the box. Can you do that on MDE?

My hope is that you will be able to use Touring Plans to find the room you want, then copy-paste the specifics into the MDE app.

Idk. I was basing that on PP referring to MDE. I've never used anything but TP in the past.

Unless they change MDE no, only general requests are permitted on MDE at this time.

When we started it, the idea of "let's show the view from every hotel room in WDW" was bonkers. It took a year just to do the maps. I get a kick out of it every time I use it.

As of yesterday it was possible to make room requests using MDE's Chat feature. I'm not sure if that will continue.

It seems like the response you get depends on the agent assigned to your chat. One agent happily accepted requests with specific room numbers. Another would only accept building and floors. I'm not sure how or when that might be standardized.
