JUNE 2015 Discount Watch

We're planning for June 21-27 at either CB, POFQ, or POR...I just can't decide which one yet. I'm debating on whether I should go ahead and book something now, hope for a discount or PIN code and then change the reservation when/if that happens, or wait.

Based on the info from Mousesavers, it looks like June discounts have typically been released in mid-March...

Thoughts?

Booked June 17th-July 1st. Prayers and Pixie Dust for a discount :) Can't wait for our longest WDW trip to date :thumbsup2 :goodvibes ::yes:: :hyper: :woohoo:

We booked already, June 19-27 AoA Cars Suite. It would be awesome to get 15-20% off.
We booked already because we will go with no discount. We booked what we could afford, and we booked when we could go.
If we don't get a discount, this will be our first WDW trip without one (and our other 3 trips have been either June or 4th of July).

Likewise...we're going either way -- with a discount or without. Our oldest daughter will be getting home from 18 months in Honduras in April of next year and this is her "welcome home" vacation. Before she left she and I went to WDW with my parents, and this will be her welcome home trip but we have to wait until June when school gets out because she doesn't get home in time for us to go over spring break. Darn! Even so, I'm just excited we'll be going.

I looked into renting DVC points and staying at one of the villas, but I'm a discount kind of girl and I don't like the idea of being locked in to the DVC rental and missing out on a discount because I can't get out of the DVC rental contract. LOL Our Disney travel agent recommended we wait to book until discounts come out, so that's what I decided to do. And since we're open to staying at any of the moderates, really, I don't mind waiting until the discounts come out and booking wherever the discount is.

June is so far off, though....am I the only obsessive trip planner who is already thinking about ADRs and FP+? LOL

It is absolutely not too soon to start planning park days, ADRs, FP+, etc. Heck, I was researching potential restaurants while we were still at Walt Disney World this past May/June. ;) I have a list of possible restaurants together and will be passing it along to our daughter and her husband to review since they will be meeting us in WDW. We'll be visiting them in Tennessee when it's time to book our ADRs so I have to have their list before I actually get there.

My boyfriend hands the whole trip over to me because he knows I'm the one full of knowledge! I always run everything by him, especially as he is a picky eater. I just can't wait to finally actually get more things in place other than hotel/tickets! Our trip will be paid off before Christmas so hopefully if promos come out after in the early spring we can still apply them.

That's what my husband does. I'll show him menus and he usually says "You know what I like. You decide." I still make him (and our son) look though so nobody can fuss when or if we don't like one of the "new to us" restaurant choices. ;)

So I'm doing a little DISBoards geeking out right now...I'm following your trip report and I love it! Nice to "meet" you. :)

Hey! Nice to meet you too! I absolutely love reading about other people's plans and posting about our trips. It's fun to see what other folks are doing and relive our vacations.

Pssst.....just posted another update on the report. ;)

This is why I booked already, I want the +10 ADR advantage when it comes up in December. And I know discounts won't come out until after that.
But it was probably smarter not to book. If you are on the website everyday and don't book, maybe you will get a PIN code? :)

My mother who has traveled with us to Disney (and gotten her own room) gets pin codes all the dang time even after she's booked a package. I, on the other hand, haven't gotten a single solitary one. Probably because they know I'm a sucker and will come with our without one.

Not sure what you mean by "+10 ADR advantage"?

I used to get PIN codes all the time, but not in conjunction with when we could go. I'm wondering if I order a new Disney trip planning CD through the website if it will remind them that I'm out here? LOL

The "+10 ADR advantage" is referring to the fact that you can book your ADRs at the 180 day mark from the BEGINNING of your reservation. If you have a 10 day trip you will be allowed to book all the way to the end of that trip, so effectively 190 days in advance or 180+10. Not sure if it applies to longer trips.

Got it -- thanks!

A bit off-topic here but I've just started your trip report and I love it!! I still have many pages to catch up on but it's always so fun to read about everyone's trips!

I hope that you'll post on my report. I love meeting new people and hearing their thoughts and ideas.

In serious sticker shock. Just booked our trip and I really hope we get a pin

Honestly I was too! I was originally booked at AoA Little Mermaid for this year but had to postpone it due to us both being in a friend's wedding. When I saw the prices to move it to next summer, I was blown away! I booked CSR thinking this is our first trip alone to Disney and it would be a nice little treat. Praying for a pin or discount though! We can swing it but any little thing helps. Maybe I can use the money saved to finally get to Victoria & Albert's! ;)
