Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Oh my gosh I've seen the Tinkerbelle dude!! :scared1: Can't remember which trip but I certainly remember seeing him. I wasn't sneaky enough to get a picture though, LOL!!! I can't stand restaurants where they jam you so close together like that, it makes things really unenjoyable! Who wants to eat sitting on a strangers lap!:crowded:

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you do get to go to WDW in October. There's no better place to celebrate a birthday in my opinion!

Thanks! I can't think of anything better either plus October means Food and Wine Festival--although I am not a big drinker in the least, I love food! and Halloween decorations will be out--which I have never seen. Seems like a perfect time to me.

Plans all depends on the "steps" we plan to take over the next few months. :rolleyes1

And this is one of my favorite pictures of the entire trip:

100_1896.jpg

My mother had officially lost it and had gone completely off the deep end! We had to get her outta there before the authorities came and took her away!

This one cracked me up!! I love it!!! I think your mom tours like mine which is awesome!! The post the other day where she was leading the pack looked like my mom getting her mind on the next thing!

The Tinkerbell dude was a little freaky! I cannot believe that lady was with him so nonchalantly!! :lmao:

San Angel Inn was okay to us but definitely not the place I would eat every trip. We usually get 11:30am lunch ressies so the restaurant isn't too crowded and we are by the river.

One day I want to get one of those little creatures in Mexico too!

I love the pic of your mom in Norway!! :)

Your pearls are pretty, I have one similar to the cage on the left in Gold and the one in the center with a Ruby instead of a CZ. I did a Pick a Pearl thing in Hawaii back in the late 90's.

Sorry you didn't really like San Angel Inn, it has been on our wish list to try for some time now, we do like some Mexican food, though, there is a place right around the corner from our house that we go to pretty often.

Happy late Valentine's Day, Lisa!!!

Great updates. We've never eaten at San Angel Inn, either, and your update doesn't make me really want to try it. My daughter loves the Mexico ride (always has, can't figure it out) and I would love to have a table overlooking the ride, but I just can't do it.

Love the picture of Mama in her horns!!! Too cute!

After the first area of the Norway store, I have to run through the rest because I absolutely hate the smell of the perfume in there. Unfortunately, one of our best friends loves it and has it at home, so we have to smell it a lot. I just wish I liked it more...it would be a good reminder of Epcot all the time.

Oh how I love the World Showcase! Beautiful pics of China...and....interesting pics of Norway! LOL! ;)

I love the picture of your mom in the Viking hat! Here's one of my faves, very similar!
FridayEpcot--Disney200945.jpg

Sorry you weren't big fans of your dinner. We are HUGE Mexican food fans, but we've only eaten at the outdoor Cantina. I have always loved the look of the indoor restaurant, but it never made our list. Plus...it does always look crowded. Good for you for trying something new, though! :thumbsup2

I need to go back and correct my earlier post(s). I said that Hunter bought a sword in China and that we had it shipped back home. But, after looking at the next set of pictures, I remember that we didn't have to have the sword shipped back. We took it with us. Only the metal swords have to be shipped from Disney World.

Movin' on...............................

We left San Angel Inn and went outside to see throngs of people shuffling toward the front of the park. :crowded: I don't think any of us realized what time it was but it was obvious that it was park closing time. We certainly didn't relish the thought of joining all those folks so we walked over to the little sitting area outside the pavilion and did what we do best....took pictures and acted silly. :clown: :joker::crazy:

There's a running joke/story in our family about seeing who can kick the highest. (don't ask....it just is what it is , please accept us for who we are ) Since we seemed to have nothing better to do, we started seeing who could raise/kick their leg the highest.

Mama even got in on the kicking but chose the table instead of the higher wall:

**Continued in next post

I read your earlier post this morning before I left for work and now you have updated again.

Anyway - That wait for your San Angel ADR was ridiculous. And you guys didn't even love it that much. Bummer. Oh well - you did it for research purposes, right?

When my sons were younger they loved that place,so it became a must-do. I like the food there. Not the best, but OK. I do not like sitting really close to other people while I'll eat and they probably feel the same way about me. :rotfl:

I don't remember how long we were up there doing the high kicks before we decided that the stream of people had thinned out enough to start heading toward the front of the park ourselves. We strolled along at a leisurely pace until we got to that straight section/walkway that connects Future World to World Showcase. You know...the one that goes straight behind the fountain. Ya'll know what I'm talking about.

We were strolling along and I heard someone say my name :listen: and I looked up to see a fellow Diser! It was TinksThree and her family! They are from our neck of the woods (well a few hours away but still close) and it was nice to see someone from home, so-to-speak. She was traveling with her mother too and the two mothers talked about how many pictures we take and that we never put the camera away, etc. TinksThree's husband and John chatted about man stuff (I guess I wasn't paying attention since TinksThree and I were defending our picture taking obsessions. :lmao:). Hunter, Lacey and TinksThree's kids talked about what they had done that day and Disney in general.

Can ya'll believe that neither TinksThree or I thought to take a darn picture of us all together? I mean what sort of Disers are we? I think maybe the two of us were in semi-shock that we had actually seen another. Yeah, that's the excuse I'm going to use. ;) (TinksThree, remember, that's our story and we're sticking to it. :ssst:)

We bid our friends farewell and safe travels and they went off to the bus stop ahead of us. I don't remember how long we talked but it was not just a short "hey how ya doing" type meeting. To say that Hunter walked away from the meeting smitten is a bit of an understatement. TinksThree's daughter and Hunter are close in age and they had a few of the same interests. John asked Hunter later if he had gotten her number and Hunter said no. John couldn't believe it and said "boy didn't I teach you anything?" :rotfl:

We kept our leisurely pace and when we got to the front of the park, I had the kids stop and taking jumping pictures. I mean, the title of this trip report wouldn't make a bit of sense if we didn't have some sort of jumping pictures. :teeth: Jumping pictures are some of my favorite but I am not the best at capturing them as the next set of pictures attest:

100_1945.jpg

100_1947-1.jpg

100_1949-1.jpg

This one was semi-good:
100_1946.jpg

so I put them out of their misery and said "that's good enough" and they did a little dance (remember.....the trip report title has dancing in it ;))

100_1950-1.jpg

100_1951-1.jpg

By the time I had finished taking the jumping and dancing pictures, John and Mama had made it pretty far ahead of us. Lacey caught up with them but Hunter, my let's-make-this-last-as-long-as-I-possibly-can buddy, stayed with me while I took a few more pictures:

One last picture before we headed out. Bye-Bye Epcot....see you next year!

100_1964-1.jpg

We walked to the bus stop and got on with about a dozen other guests. Thankfully, the bus wasn't freezing cold like the previous Epcot buses. We made it to the CBR in about 10 minutes. Gotta love the CBR's location! The kids and I spent some time on the beach while Mama headed to bed.

**Up next: Is that Pee Wee Herman!?!?!

WOW on the tinkerbell dude, that's crazy. And it looks very heavy and uncomfortable but hey, whatever floats your boat!

My gang would have walked out with a wait like that, whining for counter service or anything. And that would have been Jeff, not the kids! No pagers, broken pagers, an hour wait WITH an ADR? That's nuts. We were annoyed last May when we waited, 40 minutes for LaHacienda but we had asked for a window and were waiting for it. 15, maybe 20 anywhere...I get. More than that and it's a system problem!

It's so funny to see Hunter taller than Lacey, I've been away from your TR's long enough to think of him as being much shorter!

Given that you all had help with the wall...can't really vote on a winner on the how high can your leg go! :rotfl: LOVE the jumping pics.

You have corrupted your sweet little mama; CORRUPTED I SAY :lmao::rotfl2:. I absolutely LOVE that picture!!! I know you are gonna miss her being on your upcoming trip!!

I have never seen the Tinkerbell man, but I think you finally found someone who is just a little bit crazier than you :lmao:. Could you ever see John, or Dale, walk around with Tinkerbell stuff all over them?

OK, you posted the picture of the anatomically correct building in Morocco, and now you post this picture! His nose matches said building.......:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
troll.png

We ate at San Angel Inn back in 2005, and Dale did not like it at all, and you know how much we love Mexican food. We felt really stuffed in like sausage when we ate there too. The view was nice as we were at a table overlooking the water, but that was about it. Their salsa and chips were not made at the restaurant either, it was salsa from a jar and chips from a bag :scared1:.

Your pictures of y'all putting you legs up on the wall brought back memories of something that happened at work. Our desk in the nursery has a counter that is about 4 feet off the ground; one of the nurses decided she was going to see if she could lift her leg up and put it on the counter. Well, needless to say she ended up in the ER with a groin strain :lmao: :rotfl2:.

I love your pictures of SSE!! I think it is so pretty at night. I know what you deal with as far as picture taking. My gang HATES how many pictures I take on each trip, but I tell that it is all part of the trip for me!!

And then I updated again.

Yeah, I chalked up the San Angel Inn dinner to "hey we tried it and I have pictures for my trip report".

Poor Hunter's chair was bumping up against the other guest. I know he didn't like it so I am sure the other guy didn't either.

Oh how I love the World Showcase! Beautiful pics of China...and....interesting pics of Norway! LOL! ;)

I love the picture of your mom in the Viking hat! Here's one of my faves, very similar!

I remember that picture! Love it!

I think I probably would have liked the counter service Mexican dishes better than the table service. I'm more of a tacos, burritos kinda gal.

And happy late Valentine's Day to you too!

I don't know what made us think we'd like San Angel Inn since we aren't big fans of Mexican food. Oh well, we now know.

The perfume in Norway is pretty strong! John always rushes through the perfume section.

I love the pic of your mom in Norway!! :)

Your pearls are pretty, I have one similar to the cage on the left in Gold and the one in the center with a Ruby instead of a CZ. I did a Pick a Pearl thing in Hawaii back in the late 90's.

I didn't even think about looking at the gold settings for the pearls. Now you've gone and done it....I'm going to have to go back. :rotfl:

I say give San Angel Inn a try if you like Mexican food. It wasn't bad but it wasn't our favorite.

Thanks! I can't think of anything better either plus October means Food and Wine Festival--although I am not a big drinker in the least, I love food! and Halloween decorations will be out--which I have never seen. Seems like a perfect time to me.

Plans all depends on the "steps" we plan to take over the next few months. :rolleyes1

Ya'll will figure out what ya'll want to do, I'm sure. I think a trip to Food and Wine would be good but I've heard the crowds can be pretty scary!

This one cracked me up!! I love it!!! I think your mom tours like mine which is awesome!! The post the other day where she was leading the pack looked like my mom getting her mind on the next thing!

One day I want to get one of those little creatures in Mexico too!

I'll probably not book another ADR at San Angel Inn any time soon. We might, however try something from the counter service restaurant.

The Tinkerbell guy had soooo many things clipped to him. I know they weighed a ton!

That's a lot of tinks. wow

I know!

You've seen him too!?! This was our first time to see him. He must go pretty often.

I was at the end of the table but Lacey and Hunter were practically sitting in their neighbors' laps.

Happy Valentine's Day! I LOVE the picture of your mom! So funny!

Yay for the POR upgrade, it's really pretty there.

Happy late Valentine's Day!

I am sure that we will enjoy POR.

Happy Valentine's Day Lisa!
I hope Lacey is having a romantic 1st Valentine's day as a married lady!

That's too bad about the long wait and crowded dining room....I can't believe a piece of the pager fell off!! :confused3

Wow, he certainly is tinkerbell's #1 fan.....the pic of him actually leaves me speechless.....

Lacey and Jesse celebrated Valentine's Day a day early because they knew the restaurants woudld be crazy busy on the actual date.

The pager had definitely seen it's better days. It was a hot mess!

The guy was definitely a Tinkerbell Fan! I don't see how he got all those things on his vest and hat(s).

I love that picture of your mom with the viking hat!! :thumbsup2

That guy certainly is a Tinkerbell fan! Why not, I guess!

I'm sorry your meal at SAI was a bit disappointing. That long a wait can't help you feel positive about your meal there either!

I loved the picture of Mama too! She was certainly in a silly mood that day.

I wonder how many Tinkerbell items the guy had pinned to himself? It was a whole heckofa lot!

I wanna play!!!

Here's my Norway photo, 2008:

I love that Ben's hair is almost as blonde as the braids.

That just stinks about your dinner at San Angel Inn. Especially after the long wait! The setting of the restaurant is just gorgeous. It was one of our first restaurants at Disney, a hundred million years ago (like when you still made your same day dining times by talking with a reservationsist via television monitors). We haven't been since the early 90s. With all of the other choices in dining, we probably won't be rushing back there.

Love your pictures of the Tinkerbell Dude. Nice job doing the sneak photo. I have tried that a couple of times without great success.

How cool that you met up with TinksThree and family! Sounds like you all had some nice chats.

We were strolling along and I heard someone say my name :listen: and I looked up to see a fellow Diser! It was TinksThree and her family! They are from our neck of the woods (well a few hours away but still close) and it was nice to see someone from home, so-to-speak. Totally sticking to that story! :rolleyes1 I can't believe we didn't take any pictures either! Especially after all of the ribbing we were getting! It was so good talking with your family! I am glad I noticed you guys walking along! It was very cute the impressions made...Madison still mentions it!

I love the jumping and dancing pictures. I need to keep that in mind for this band trip. I bet Madison and her friends will love doing that! CBR busses that night were so much better than POR! Lucky you!! We waited forever but at least the bus ride was short...once they came!

Ok, all caught up!:yay:

You are gonna LOVE POR! The boat rides are almost the best part! They run every 20 minutes during the day and every 10 mins at night. I'm so jealous, I can't wait to see how you liked it!

Sorry, your meal at SA wasn't what you had hoped for. I also hate being so close to the next table.

Love all your jumping, dancing, goofing off pictures! The photo of Mama in the viking hat is AWESOME! I have one of Samantha wearing that hat!

We didn't do anything for V-day either, but then again we don't do most holidays or occasions. We save it all up for Disney!

Finally getting to play catch-up on your trip report.

I am so happy that you guys are going on a cruise and getting to stay at POR. I am sure you will have tons of fun.

Can't wait to read more.

So many good pictures!

DIS meets are fun, and I hate it when I forget to take pictures, too. :sad2: I took a picture of Magic Shell's family as they were walking away from the Bowling Pin Pool where we had met once, because I had not thought to get one while we were standing there talking. :upsidedow I put it on the report, told about the visit, and pretty much said, "There goes Magic Shell's family."

Love the high kicks! You're almost ready for Broadway! LOL! :rotfl:

I've never run into another DISer at WDW. How cool that you had an impromptu DISmeet! :thumbsup2

Hello!!! I saw your POR ticker on my TR and just had to know if you added a stay on there so I clicked on your TR link to be nosey and guess what....

I subscribed to your thread a loooooooong time ago! :upsidedow I have no idea why, but sometimes when I subscribe to a thread, it just dissapears and I don't get anymore email updates! This has happened to me many times! I was reading through your intro and thinking the whole time, "I have read all this before and I recognize these people!" :rotfl: And now you are at 130 pages! :sad2: There is no way I will catch up anytime soon so if it's ok with you, I'm just going to jump on right here and I'll go back and read as I have time. I can't believe I have missed so much. The last thing that looked familiar to me were the pictures from your drive down, so I have missed almost everything!

Anyway, I found the answer to my question about POR. Congrats on trying a new place! I think staying there for one night, pre-cruise is a fantastic idea. I really hope you like it. I am pretty sure that is where we are going to stay in Oct. I am looking forward to hearing your opinion on it.
