Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

I have heard such mixed reviews about San Angel Inn. I LOVE mexican food- L.O.V.E. it. I love it all but the black beans and sour cream- YUCK! Cortlyn loves it too! Started eating salsa at 15 months old!! :rotfl: We were out at dinner and she was getting jealous of our salsa, so I decided to let her try it. Gave her the bowl and she wouldn't give it back to us!! :scared1: And it was some spicy salsa!

Got caught up while waiting for my flight back home!

Happy belated birthday to John!

Yay for upgrading to POR for that night. I didn't go there, but did stop by POFQ for some Beinets one day. Divine! :goodvibes

Love the Epcot pics, especially Mama in Norway and the silly pics! And Tink-Man would make my sister so jealous, so LOVES Tinkerbell.

Too bad dinner wasn't all that great....and such a long wait. I have to say, it doesn't even look all that appealing in your pictures. I am weird about mexican too. I like it, but only at certain places.
I wouldn't have liked how close the seats were either.

Great Epcot updates. We have never eaten at San Angel, but then neither one of us eats Mexican food. Love the dancing pictures.

WOW on the tinkerbell dude, that's crazy. And it looks very heavy and uncomfortable but hey, whatever floats your boat!

My gang would have walked out with a wait like that, whining for counter service or anything. And that would have been Jeff, not the kids! No pagers, broken pagers, an hour wait WITH an ADR? That's nuts. We were annoyed last May when we waited, 40 minutes for LaHacienda but we had asked for a window and were waiting for it. 15, maybe 20 anywhere...I get. More than that and it's a system problem!

It's so funny to see Hunter taller than Lacey, I've been away from your TR's long enough to think of him as being much shorter!

Given that you all had help with the wall...can't really vote on a winner on the how high can your leg go! :rotfl: LOVE the jumping pics.

Yeah, our wait time was outrageous and went well past our ADR. It totally sucked waiting that long!

Hunter has gotten so tall over the last year. Now that Lacey lives in Tennessee, every time she sees him the first thing she says is "you're so tall!".

We did have a little bit of help on keeping our legs raised didn't we?:rotfl:

I wanna play!!!

Here's my Norway photo, 2008:

I love that Ben's hair is almost as blonde as the braids.

That just stinks about your dinner at San Angel Inn. Especially after the long wait! The setting of the restaurant is just gorgeous. It was one of our first restaurants at Disney, a hundred million years ago (like when you still made your same day dining times by talking with a reservationsist via television monitors). We haven't been since the early 90s. With all of the other choices in dining, we probably won't be rushing back there.

Love your pictures of the Tinkerbell Dude. Nice job doing the sneak photo. I have tried that a couple of times without great success.

How cool that you met up with TinksThree and family! Sounds like you all had some nice chats.

Ben's hair was super blonde and the braids looked like they were really his hair! Gosh, how he's grown.

I wouldn't rush to go back to San Angel Inn any time soon. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't what we expected.

I was so happy that TinksThree called out to us. It was a very nice visit.

Totally sticking to that story! :rolleyes1 I can't believe we didn't take any pictures either! Especially after all of the ribbing we were getting! It was so good talking with your family! I am glad I noticed you guys walking along! It was very cute the impressions made...Madison still mentions it!

I love the jumping and dancing pictures. I need to keep that in mind for this band trip. I bet Madison and her friends will love doing that! CBR busses that night were so much better than POR! Lucky you!! We waited forever but at least the bus ride was short...once they came!

Our impromptu meeting was the highlight of the day for all of us! I love meeting other Disers especially those from our neck of the woods.

I am betting Madison and her friends will like taking the jumping and dancing pictures. It takes a while to get a good shot but we always have fun doing it.

Ok, all caught up!:yay:

You are gonna LOVE POR! The boat rides are almost the best part! They run every 20 minutes during the day and every 10 mins at night. I'm so jealous, I can't wait to see how you liked it!

Sorry, your meal at SA wasn't what you had hoped for. I also hate being so close to the next table.

Love all your jumping, dancing, goofing off pictures! The photo of Mama in the viking hat is AWESOME! I have one of Samantha wearing that hat!

We didn't do anything for V-day either, but then again we don't do most holidays or occasions. We save it all up for Disney!

The boat to DTD was one of my deciding factors when I was trying to change over to another moderate. I was juuuuuuust about to make a change to CSR when I decided to give Disney one more call to see if they could make the POR change happen. I'm excited to be trying something new but don't know how long my blabbering mouth can keep the secret.

Finally getting to play catch-up on your trip report.

I am so happy that you guys are going on a cruise and getting to stay at POR. I am sure you will have tons of fun.

Can't wait to read more.

Yah for being caught up! I'm so behind on my subscribed threads. :sad2:

I'm excited for both the cruise and trying a new resort.

So many good pictures!

DIS meets are fun, and I hate it when I forget to take pictures, too. :sad2: I took a picture of Magic Shell's family as they were walking away from the Bowling Pin Pool where we had met once, because I had not thought to get one while we were standing there talking. :upsidedow I put it on the report, told about the visit, and pretty much said, "There goes Magic Shell's family."

I can't believe that we forgot to take pictures. I guess we were too busy chatting and talking about taking pictures.

Oh too bad you didn't get a good picture of Magic Shell's family but at least you got one of htem walking away. :lmao:

Love the high kicks! You're almost ready for Broadway! LOL! :rotfl:

I've never run into another DISer at WDW. How cool that you had an impromptu DISmeet! :thumbsup2

Rockets....Here we come! :rotfl2:

Hello!!! I saw your POR ticker on my TR and just had to know if you added a stay on there so I clicked on your TR link to be nosey and guess what....

I subscribed to your thread a loooooooong time ago! :upsidedow I have no idea why, but sometimes when I subscribe to a thread, it just dissapears and I don't get anymore email updates! This has happened to me many times! I was reading through your intro and thinking the whole time, "I have read all this before and I recognize these people!" :rotfl: And now you are at 130 pages! :sad2: There is no way I will catch up anytime soon so if it's ok with you, I'm just going to jump on right here and I'll go back and read as I have time. I can't believe I have missed so much. The last thing that looked familiar to me were the pictures from your drive down, so I have missed almost everything!

Anyway, I found the answer to my question about POR. Congrats on trying a new place! I think staying there for one night, pre-cruise is a fantastic idea. I really hope you like it. I am pretty sure that is where we are going to stay in Oct. I am looking forward to hearing your opinion on it.

With the way the Dis has been acting over the last three or four weeks, I can't keep up with everything that's being posted. I wasn't getting private message or notifications either. Thank goodness it's better now.

Of course you can jump in here now! If you happen to want to go back and read what you missed, just use those handy dandy links in post number 1.

I hope that we like POR and truly think that we will even though we won't have much time to spend there.

I have heard such mixed reviews about San Angel Inn. I LOVE mexican food- L.O.V.E. it. I love it all but the black beans and sour cream- YUCK! Cortlyn loves it too! Gave her the bowl and she wouldn't give it back to us!! :scared1: And it was some spicy salsa!

I don't like black beans all that much either but sour cream is the best! You are very lucky that Cortlyn is not a picky eater! Hunter didn't used to be picky when he was little but it's gotten worse over time.

Welcome home! How tired are you? Too tired to start your trip report? Huh? Huh? Huh? Seriously, glad that you made it home safe and sound. Let me know when you do start your trip report. I want to read all about your travels.

My niece was the same way!!! She LOVED spicy food right after Gerber lmao

-KD

Holy smokes!

:rotfl:Glad I don't have the only one! My almost 10 month old is already eyeing the salsa! :goodvibes

Sounds like your two are going to be Mexican food lovers all the way!

Too bad dinner wasn't all that great....and such a long wait. I have to say, it doesn't even look all that appealing in your pictures. I am weird about mexican too. I like it, but only at certain places.
I wouldn't have liked how close the seats were either.

I guess I'm not all about authentic Mexican food. Give me Taco Bell or homemade tacos and I'm fine.

The seating was ridiculous! Not only were the tables pushed together but we were all squeezed into our table as well.

Great Epcot updates. We have never eaten at San Angel, but then neither one of us eats Mexican food. Love the dancing pictures.

I wouldn't suggest a meal at San Angel Inn if you aren't interested in Mexican food at all. Even with us being semi Mexican food eaters, we didn't care for it.

After our semi-wet day at Epcot, we were ready for another "let's do nothing but enjoy the resort" day. We had nothing planned except for dinner at The Turf Club and tickets to see Cirque du Soliel.

I have no idea what everybody else was doing but I decided to walk around the entire resort promenade and take pictures. Our room numbers:

I took the path in front of the building and started the walk:

At the end of the path, I could either go right towards Trinidad South or left towards Aruba. What to do ? What to do? How 'bout right?

Gosh, I just realized that I didn't get any really good pictures of the pool or the kids' play area. I guess I didn't walk all the way around the pool and just stuck to the outside perimeter. (**Note to self: Take better pictures next time.)

I made it back to our room and everybody, including myself, was ready for some lunch! So, off to Old Port Royale we went!

**Up next: Freestyling with Pee Wee Herman!

Our impromptu meeting was the highlight of the day for all of us! I love meeting other Disers especially those from our neck of the woods.

I am betting Madison and her friends will like taking the jumping and dancing pictures. It takes a while to get a good shot but we always have fun doing it.

It was a highlight for us too. Plus it gave us a "lift" knowing we were leaving...really leaving--like going home the next day!!

I bet it makes it more fun trying to get the good shots by taking the bad ones!!

Love the CBR pictures! That is great! Our next trip I plan to schedule one day with nothing going on so we can enjoy the resort. We did that in 2010 and it was awesome!

Love the CBR pictures! Some of them look familiar, as I walked the same path (or part of it at least!) last week :goodvibes

Love the pictures of CBR! They made me very glad that we decided to try the resort out, and I booked last week! Can't wait to spend the week there, you're TR helped a lot in the decision. Thanks!

Great pictures! If anyone has any doubts about the beauty of CBR, you have set the record straight! :thumbsup2 It's just lovely.

Ok, seriously, you got like 2000 pictures of CBR and you are beating yourself up for forgetting to take pictures of ONE area? I think what we should really say/do is : :worship:

I can't believe I didn't take more time to explore CBR when I was there 3 years ago. Then again, it was a super short and super packed 6 days "first" trip to Disney, so I guess that explains it.

I want to walk on that wooden path so much. For some reason I'm obsessed with wooden path and I think they make any walking better and look prettier. :cloud9:
