Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Let's see.....where were we? Oh yeah, Hunter had just gotten a gummie bear and was chowing down on it:

100_1855.jpg

Now that we had completed the mission of finding the gummie bear, we continued on around World Showcase stopping every now and then to take a picture or two:

We made it to China:

***Photobucket is stuck. Let me shut it down and restart....hold on a minute.

And went inside to do a little window shopping.

For the last 6 or 7 years, Hunter has always bought a sword in China and had it shipped home. As he perused the displays, we realized that we should have bought the sword during our first Epcot day. They were now sold out of the ones that he didn't have and the others were way out of the price range we wanted to spend. However, he did find a cool wooden sword that had etchings on it and it wasn't a bad price at all. We made the purchase, filled out the paperwork to have it mailed to our house and we were back out into the world again.

Up next was Norway. I'm going to explain these next pictures before I post them (and I'm doing that to embarrass my kids). You see, many years ago, they were playing around with my camera and took all sorts of silly pictures of themselves. They thought they'd delete them before I could see them. Unfortunately, during the deleting process, they deleted over 100 pictures. They are now forbidden to delete any pictures on my camera. Not even a super crappy picture. It must stay on the memory card until I get home, plug it into the computer and actually see the picture(s) that I want to delete. Now that I've explained that to you, let's carry one with these beautiful Norway pictures taken by my lovely, shy and withdrawn children:

Are you thinking "those aren't so bad" yet? Keep thinking that:

Eeek!

Ahhh!

100_1875.jpg

I gotta love 'em. They're my own flesh and blood! :lmao:

Apparently, they tried taking pictures of the trolls:

100_1885.jpg

100_1886.jpg

And did a fairly good job. I took over the camera then.

Look at all the cute/ugly trolls that are for sale:

And this is one of my favorite pictures of the entire trip:

My mother had officially lost it and had gone completely off the deep end! We had to get her outta there before the authorities came and took her away!

**Up next: Lacey, sneak over there and get a picture of that...................

I need to head over to the POR board and do more research. I'd like to get one of the new refurbed rooms if I can.

While looking around at the POR boards check out the Yehaa Bob Show. Even though I've never seen the show those who have say it's really funny. You can Google Yehaa Bob to find his web site.

I hope you get one of the fixed-up rooms. Also, congrats on playing the waiting game with Disney and getting the better deal.

Plus give Young John a belated Happy Birthday wish from Old John!

Yeah for the upgrade. I can't wait to see pictures. I always here how everyone loves POR.
Your Momma in that hat is too funny. Paige bought that hat many years ago.

Can we get his name and direct line??? And then maybe Jenn could call him and see if he could make my Pin code for my week in November!!! :goodvibes

I know. that first guy I had was an Idiot...with a capital I!

I believe our ADR at DTD is around 8:00 p.m. or so. I will look and see how late Bob is performing that night. If we can, I'll sure we'll catch at least part of his show.

I'm going to request one of the newly refurbed rooms but will be happy with whatever we get.

I'll send the wishes on to John this evening!

I'm hoping that I get to take a lot of pictures of POR but, we won't be there long.

We didn't even have to ask Mama to put the Viking hat on. She did it of her own free will.

Yay for POR! We love, love, love it there! :goodvibes

The pearl jewelry is beautiful. :thumbsup2

I thought about you when I was trying to get a reservation at POR. ;)

The pearls all turned out so pretty in their settings. I'm not sure if I'll do it again this year though because I'll probably spend it on the cruise.

HI Lisa,
Happy belated Birthday to John!

I can see why that is one of your favorite pictures....your mom looks so cute!!

Hope John had a great birthday - wish him many, many more for me. How nice to have your hard work and research pay off with a room you are excited about! I know you will enjoy that.

I LOVE that picture of Mom. It is one of my favorites of her of all I have seen - such a cute expression! She is really a pretty lady - I can see where you get your looks from!

Thanks for showing us what you did with your pearls. I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but I did the pick-a-pearl at Sea World a couple of years in the late 80's. They are still in the Sea World plastic bag. I have never had them set! :confused3

I love that picture of Mama in Norway!

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! Mama is not a super outgoing person so for her to do something like this made the moment even better for us.

Awww, you're so sweet! I have always said if I look half as good as my Mama when I get to be her age I'll be pleased as punch.

I don't remember you mentioning the pearls at Sea World. We haven't been to Sea World in over 10 years.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! I hope that it's been a wonderful day so far. John and I decided not to exchange any Valentine's Day gifts this year. This may be our only cruise and our only trip to the Bahamas so we decided to save the money and spend it on the cruise or in the Bahamas.

I was about to work on an update but I can't seem to find some of my pictures. I didn't upload them all onto Photobucket because, at the time, I didn't know if I was going pro or not. Now, I can't find the memory card that has the next day on it. I'll keep looking for it. I think I have enough picture to do the rest of our Epcot day so maybe I can work in an installment this afternoon.

We left the trolls in Norway and continued our journey with Mexico in our sights. We had a dinner ADR at San Angel Inn which was a new restaurant for us.

It took a minute for our eyes to adjust to the low lighting. Of course, we had to stop and look at the pretty carved and hand painted figures that were on sale as soon as you walk in. I'm saying it here and now.....one day I'm going to buy one of those pretties. It'll probably be one of the wee little ones because of the price but I'm gonna get one.

As we walked down towards the restaurant, we see a crowd of people gathered. I thought maybe there was some sort of entertainment going on but there wasn't. It was the line for ADRs! It not only was at the podium but it snaked around both sides. I waited in the line and checked us in and was told that they were out of pagers but they would call our name when a table was ready.

I went to find the rest of my bunch and we wandered around and looked at the items for sale. And we wandered. And wandered. We waited. And we waited. This wasn't looking good. After about 20 minutes, John got back in line to see if maybe there were pagers available. He had to wait about 10 minutes to even make it to the podium. No pagers, come back in about 10 minutes.

Now, I like looking at the merchandise in Mexico but after a while, there's only so many times you can turn over an item before it starts to get a bit old. Another 10 minutes went by and John got back in line to see if a pager was available. 5 minutes later, he had a cracked pager in his hand. A minute later, it vibrated and a big chunk of it fell off. We thought that we were finally being called to a table so we all went to the podium. Nope, just a malfunctioning pager. No more pagers were available either. John asked how much longer and they said "not much".

All of the people around us were starting to get angry because of their waits. I heard one lady say they had been waiting for almost an hour. I thought "poor thing". But then, I thought, "heck, we've been here for
almost that long too!".

We turned around and then saw something strange....very strange. Something that was picture worthy strange. How the heck were we going to take pictures without calling attention to the fact that we were taking pictures of it? Lacey, go over there and sneak a few pictures. :rolleyes1

What was strange enough that it had to be put into pictures? This guy:

Need a closer look?

100_1900.jpg

Can you believe how many pins, key chains, buttons, flashlights, cellphone holders etc. he has on his clothing? I bet they weighed a ton! They were all Tinkerbell too!

On the back of his vest were Tinkerbell patches. On top of his hat are Tinkerbell Mickey ears:

100_1902.jpg

Wow! That was a one true super de duper Tinkerbell lover!

I noticed that quite a few people were leaving the restaurant so I figured we better move back that way just in case they called our name. A bench came open behind the podium and we took advantage of the opening. Mama really needed to get off her feet. Standing is harder on her than actual walking. Another 15 or 20 minute passed and finally our name was called.

Let me go ahead and get this out of the way, we didn't like the seating at the restaurant. I can only imagine it now. We were so squeezed in that we were practically eating with the family next to us.

The server came around and took our drink order and later brought out chips and salsa.

100_1904.jpg

None of us are real Mexican food eaters but we wanted to try something new this trip. John ordered one of the fixed price options which I don't see on the Allearsnet menus. I believe this was his appetizer:

Tostados de Tinga - Fried corn tortillas topped with black beans, lettuce, onions, advocado, tomato marinated chicken, sour cream, and fresh cheese $9
100_1907.jpg

He chose fish tacos for his entree:

100_1909.jpg

This was my entree which was a steak with rice, black beans and guacamole:

100_1910.jpg

I believe Lacey ordered the same entree as I.

Mama ordered:

Pollo A Las Rajas - grilled chicken breast served over red peppers, onion strips, cream sauce, and fresh cheese $24
100_1911.jpg

Apparently, we didn't take a picture of Hunter's meal. He ordered grilled chicken breast with a side of rice (which he didn't eat).

I'm not sure if any of us finished our entire entree. As I said, we aren't big Mexican food eaters (mostly stick to Taco Bell which isn't authentic food) though.

The server came out with a dish of birthday ice cream for Hunter and a group of castmember sang Happy Birthday to him:

100_1914.jpg

100_1915.jpg

**See how close the next table/person was to Hunter in the picture above.

I don't remember who ordered this dessert but here's the description followed by a seriously blurry picture:

Flan de Vainilla - vanilla custard in syrup, topped with roasted almonds $6.50
100_1916.jpg

I ordered the crepes which I see aren't on the menu any more:

100_1917.jpg

Helado de Vainilla - vanilla ice cream topped with Mexican caramel $5.75
100_1918.jpg

Hum....there seems to be one more dessert picture missing....unless someone ordered a duplicate and I didn't take a picture.

We used our dining credits to pay for the bill and we were ready to let someone else smoosh their way into our seats.

How would I rate San Angel Inn? Probably a 5 out of 10. I'm glad that we tried it but I won't be going back any time soon.

***Up next: How high can you get your leg up?:scared1:

Happy Valentine's Day! I LOVE the picture of your mom! So funny!

Yay for the POR upgrade, it's really pretty there.

Happy Valentine's Day to you as well!

Woo Hoo! You've got a new ticker! Give me all the details woman! Where? When? Who? I want to know it all!

We don't have much details yet haven't even really booked it. I think it's just going to be me and my cousin Emily. It's going to be 3 nights Oct 26 - Oct 28 with only 3 parks, but I don't care I'm going to disney it's been 2 years. (If nothing crazy happens and keeps us from going) (this was my 200th post)

Happy Valentine's Day Lisa!
I hope Lacey is having a romantic 1st Valentine's day as a married lady!

That's too bad about the long wait and crowded dining room....I can't believe a piece of the pager fell off!! :confused3

Wow, he certainly is tinkerbell's #1 fan.....the pic of him actually leaves me speechless.....

I love that picture of your mom with the viking hat!! :thumbsup2

That guy certainly is a Tinkerbell fan! Why not, I guess!

I'm sorry your meal at SAI was a bit disappointing. That long a wait can't help you feel positive about your meal there either!
