July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

Movies this week are: Around the World in 80 days, Ice Princess, Incredibles, National Treasure, A Lot Like Love, Pirates of the Carrib, Taxi, Princess Diaries II, Nemo, Pacifier, Pooh's Heffalump Movie, and Hitchhiker's guide.

I did it! - those are the movies Disney Darwin wrote on the trip report.

My dd and I have green/lime (or close to it anyway) shirts. Now if we are wearing them - when are we wearing them? Saturday? correct?

I can't speak for the rest of you (or for the rest of my family) but I'll be the one in lime green for most of the week!
 Very advantageous that the DIS color of choice is one of my favorites! I even have half a swim suit in that color (gotta love landsend mix and match)! On a dare from needalatte I even currently have my toenails dressed up in lime green! :thewave:

Now... if they only made pirate costumes in lime green I'd be set!

We will have to be careful on our meet day with everyone in the group wearing the same color shirt as me (hubby got confused once in line for Tower of Terror and grabbed another woman he claims he thought was me...that incident kept our group laughing the rest of the vacation). Good thing he's such a great sport! Let's hope he doesn't get confused again :goodvibes

Hello all DIS Boards Members. Thanks for all your reply regarding my dilemma about our cabin assignments. I have been calling Disney trying to upgrade to a Category 4 but the July 2nd Cruise is completely sold out. I have not lost hope. Meanwhile, I saw my sister-in-law's threads and I remembered her e-mailing me about joining the cruise meet. We'd love to join your party. Is it full now or closed? Can you please count us in? I am cruising with my DH(40), my DS(14-his birthday tomorrow), my DD(9) and my other DD(4). We are so excited, counting the days.....Both my DH and I work in very stressful jobs (consulting-engineering/interior design) :guilty: :headache: and we need this much needed break.
Will Disney switch cabin assignments if I find somebody through the DIS Boards to switch cabins with? My family's cabin assignments are at both ends of the ship which means my DH and I will sleep in separate cabins. :sad1:  It really does stink (as some of you said) but we don't want to cancel this trip. My brother's family who lives in Texas is also going on this trip. I'll know next time to book Category 4 to avoid this situation. We're planned to do the Paradise Beach excursion for PV, Mazatlan Frank for M and none yet for Cabo. We're second seating at 8:30 for dinner and we've booked for Palo for 2 dinners, a brunch and a high tea. (Don't have the information handy.) any news of what Castaway Club members receive or any interesting news from the first group of West Coast cruisers? Will try to post again more details. Got to get back to work.............. :wave2:

Hi Clarissa,

Welcome to the group. I read your note and my husband and I can totally relate with the extremely stressful jobs. I too am an interior designer and my husband is a mechanical enginereer. He does consulting on the side. And then we have started a business in our spare time. What little we have. And that doesn't even include our kids and all their activities. We will have to meet and chat about life. What room are you in? We are in 2028, which is forward. We have stayed on higher decks on previous cruises, but I like seeing the water level out my porthole.

We still have no documents although with everyone else having an exciting day at the mailbox our documents can't be far behind.

It looks like the Docs dance has begun  - congrats on those who recieved thiers today. None for us yet!

Fran, I will be glad to add who has received thier docs to the cruise list - and Dave - I will definitely find you for that drink! Oh, by the way Fran, thanks for the suggestions for my wife lime green top - I will run out and buy it tomorrow (not) :rolleyes1 - However, my DW did find one on her own we are all set now.

:wave2: Would like to welcome the 18th family/group to our cruise list - Clarissa. WELCOME!!! :sunny: Sorry to read about your room problem... I sure this is driving you crazy

Anna, your are correct, the lime green shirts are to be worn on Sat (7/2) so we can recognize those who have so kindly contributed to this thread the last several months.

Have a great day ::MickeyMo

Goof Morning everyone :)

Someone has listed a link to the navigators - I did not have time this am to look over all of them. Hopefully later or tonite. (Busy day today).

First page, bottome right - all services on the ship will be suspended for the mandatory lifeboat drill 3:30 - 4:30 pm.

It seems that the dvc meet is for Sunday 10 am and 11 am - we have brunch for 10:30 - will need to talk to Wendy - any other dvc members?

I forgot to add - for those of us who have 18 plus children.

There is a Mix & Mingle for ages 18 to 25 on Sunday eve. 1015pm - don't remember seeing that before in our previous two cruises (perhaps I did not notice since one was not 18 yet). It's nice that they have this for their age - hopefully my son and Wendy's son will take a look - without my recommendation of course.

Only read first two pages.

Anna,
We are also DVC Members, thanks for the info. on the time of the meet...thank heavens for DVC or we would probably not have been able to take the 3 cruises. I know there is some debate on points value and using your points to book a cruise, but it sure works well for us :goodvibes
We also have a 22 year old traveling with us. I hope he takes part in the scheduled meet and greet. It would be great if he could meet some young adults close to his own age.
Still looking for the big brown truck...Maybe today is the day...
I am debating on the green shirt, my family says no way. I will probably just get the green Mickey's from Home Depot.
Have a good day, Angie

wdw1014- We are DVC members also. The DVC meet on the ship is a lot of fun. I hope we can change our Palo brunch and attend. I agree we with you- DVC has made cruising for the 3rd time possible for us ,too.

Vanvmom.........funny you should mention LE swimsuits! I was looking at the catalog this morning........at the lime green suits!!!! :sunny:

I think they are so cute!

Clarissa..........just start eating Ramen Noodles for every meal between now and the cruise, and you should have enough $ for the first round. (Do they have those in Cananda?) Jim, you might want to start eating them too, just in case............ :rotfl2:

:wizard:
OK, Pixie Dust to those who do not have docs yet.........

I am excited that there is something for the college age kids. My daughter was bumbed because she can't do the teen club things like she did on the last two cruises because she turned the magical 18 years old. I will try passing this on to her and she if she will post a message. Before she did her own chat with teens going on the cruise before the ship sailed.

Hopefully today will be our lucky day to get our documents

:mickeybar I am not counting on my sons wearing lime green shirts. I will wear one, my dd will wear one (won't even mention why - I will just give her a choice of two :teeth: green shirts she has for that day. I am not sure if my dh owns - he would probably wear one - tries to go along with me as much as possible.

I think I will give Wendy a call - perhaps we could do a Palo dinner instead of brunch so we could go to the DVC meet (unless they have it again another day - need to check rest of navigators). :cheer2:

As my wife (Zebramom) has already stated, this is a good thing for one of my daughters...the 18 year old. Maybe she will help my oldest (21) go to this. They can at least keep each other company.

I will have to read through the Navigators when I get home this evening to see what is going on and how they have scheduled things.

For those that know, please post your dinner rotation. It would be interesting to see what each group has.

hello everyone. we're a family of 3 and are going on our first cruise. the research is being done and is a bit overwhelming. we don't want to miss anything. hope to get to know some people here before getting on the ship and then getting to know you more. we're really looking forward to making a lot of friends.

Leo, Amy and Shannon.

Welcome,
We are a family of 3 also. DH, DW, and DD (7 years old). We are fairly new to the site also. I've learned so much in the last 2 weeks. My family is looking forward to the cruise. Can't believe it's only 24 days away. Are you traveling with children? If yes, how old?
Karen

Welcome, knowledge!

This is our 5th Disney cruise....do feel free to ask any questions. XLT (my dh) and I wouldn't cruise any other way!!!!!

Just remember.....last one to get docs buys the first round! :Pinkbounc

I was reading the navigators from the inaugural cruise. I can't believe how much there is to do onboard. :cheer2: :cheer2: Formal night was Sunday. That's the same night we have reservations at Palos 7pm. If we keep the reservations then our DD doesn't get to dress up with us for dinner. I may have to change Palo from dinner to brunch when we board. I don't want to cancel online and then end up without Palo. :confused3 Decisions Decisions

I'm putting more time into planning this trip than anything else. I better get back to work.

Sooo, next time I think it's a good idea to go to the mall with all the kids, remind me of the pounding my head is feeling right now!!

Have we decided when we are doing our meet? Last I heard it was about 3pm by Scoops. Is this still a go? I guess we should figure this out within the next...oh 2 weeks or so.. :rotfl2: For a bunch of overplanners we sure haven't planned this part yet. Let me know what you all think.

Welcome knowledgeonpaper!!! Glad to add another to our group. By the way, have you got your docs yet??? :confused3 :rotfl2: ...LOL Talk to you all later. Amy :flower:

longfamily.............

We planned Palo on Formal night, just so that our kids would'nt have to dress up! ;)

They usually are having so much fun, that the last thing that they want to do is get all dressed up just for dinner. Also, XLT and I only have to do it once too. :goodvibes

Semi formal night is a whole "less dressy"......so I don't really mind it.
