Dessert Party; Seats and sweets or garden view?

Made my reservations this morning. For sake of having a reservation I did a dessert party reservation for Magic Kingdom. We have done the "garden view" of the party before, but in making reservations I just learned about the "seats and sweets" option for the fireworks viewing.

For those that have done both, do you have a preference as to one or the other? I would think the view from the tomorrowland terrace would be a bit more obstructed (which is why I was surprised to see it was actually a bit more expensive compared to the garden view).

I will say, having sat there during the desserts party itself, I would pretty annoyed to pay that much to sit there. I would definitely prefer the garden view.

We've done both parties quite a bit. The view from the garden is MUCH better but since we've seen HEA many times, more often than not we will choose the seated party just because it's so nice to have place to sit. Plus if you're traveling with older people (my mom travels with us quite a bit), I'm sure they will appreciate the seat.

You are correct, the view from the terrace is obstructed. The higher fireworks are covered by the ceiling, unless you're really lucky in where you get seated and then they're only kinda covered, and the view is off to the side. You don't book this one for the best view, the premium over the garden is because it is a physical seat. There is also potentially value in being physically removed from the crowds, but that depends on you.

Having done both in past years, I agree with posts above. The view of fireworks as well as of castle projections is better from the garden.

OTOH, having Tinkerbell fly nearly over your head while you’re seated on the terrace is amazing!

We've done all of the dessert parties and much prefer the post-party over the pre-party and seated terrace option. The view is better, we get to the garden first without rushing to eat the treats and, when the fireworks are over, the CMs create a corridor so you can get to the dessert buffet without being trampled by the crowds. We love to sit and enjoy the treats while the hordes exit MK after the fireworks. Unless you value a chair over the view, I wouldn't booked the seated party.

I was thinking about post party as well but also remembered that we like to do some rides at that time closer to park close like Tron, also hoping they are still running the 11 o clock nighttime parade as well, so planned on doing that after the fireworks
