July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. My family and I are thrilled that we will not be alone on this cruise. We look forward to meeting everyone and will work on getting those lime green tees.

I am a bit confused on the documents. We downloaded cruise documents a few weeks ago and filled them out and then they say to turn them in on the ship. Are these the documents that everyone keeps refering to and waiting for? We also recieved other papers just before we payed off the cruise that :goodvibes showed the itinerary, cabin number and dinner rotatoin info. Maybe those are the documents that everyone are waiting for?

Here's our info for the cruise. AnnaS, I trust no one will come after us but i will keep an eye on you lol.

The Rodriguez family are:
Leo, 28 (me)
Amy, 28 and booked for some spa stuff.
Shannon, 3 and potty trained on the day of the inaugural cruise. We told her that she wasn't going to be able to do the Oceaneer Club if she wasn't potty trained but that didn't convince her. She was convinced when she saw Mickey and Minnie waving of the side of the ship at the Ports O'Call on May 28. We got home and she jumped on the potty and the rest is history.
-Stateroom 7614
-Second dinner rotation but will try and change to first depending on how Shannon handles being up late. She's in bed every night at 7:30.
-Excursions:
PV- Tropical jungle paradise expedition @9:50am
MZ-City tour and folkloric show (will most likely cancel) @ 8:30am
CSL-Cabo beach break @ 8:05am
-Palo rez for Thursday night 8:30 pm. Would like to change it to formal night. Does anyone know if Sunday night is full?

That's all I can think of at the moment. I did want to do the canopy excursion and other adult excursions but wanted to include my daughter so we picked the above excursions. I know I'll think of something else to add after I post.

Passport help!
My boys passports do NOT have a raised seal on them, but are a 1/4 sheet certficate that says "this computer generated abstract of birth is an official document" on the top. They are numbered and have a state seal in the left corner and a county recorder seal in the right....but they are not raised. Does it have to be raised? I can't find that written anywhere, but recall hearing it.
Any ideas?
Jill
When I sent this message I was referring to birth certificates, not passports, but my mind is flying in so many directions these days I typed it wrong. If that changes anyones suggestions, let me know.
I got an email from our TA who said, to contact DCL to be absolutely sure and not be turned away at the dock!
Thanks
Jill

Knowledgeonpaper- Glad you found us- welcome!

3PM on Deck 10 works for us. I'll be wearing lime green but haven't been able to convince the rest of my family to wear it- but I'm still trying.

Jill, we're in the same boat as you. My Dh and I have passports but the kiddos will have birth certificates. Actually I haven't even gotten the 2 and 1 year olds BC yet :sad2: Because I got the older 2's cert's within a year or so fo each other they are the same. If you have any doubt I know a place in Santa Ana (not the court house) that you can be in and out in 1/2 hour usually. Looks like I'll be making that trip soon!! Another thing on my to do list! Amy :flower:
Hi Amy,
Is Santa Ana the closest place to go for the HB area? Can you give me the info about it, if its not the court house.
Another poster said I could take these with me and exchange them at no charge for originals which would save me a little....enough for a Bingo card or a Midori Sour!
Thanks
Jill

Jill, The place I have gone to get BC is the Dept of Health building on Main St. If you take the 22, get off on Main St. Go towards (left on Main St) Santa Ana and it's on the right about 2-3 miles down. It's a small office building that allows metered parking in the street in front. I've used it many times to get the kids bc and to get death certs when I was handling my parent's estate. I don't have the street address...I'll go look on line to see if I can find it and I'll post it here if I do. Good luck. Amy :flower:

Ok found this..
1200 North Main Street, Suite 100-A in the city of Santa Ana (corner of Main Street and Washington Avenue).

It's amazing what my DH will do for a free drink. :cool1: I showed him your message and a limegrren polo at old navy. He opted to find one in a style he likes. He's off to get his own LimeGreen shirt. Thanks everyone for your DIS support. :rotfl:
The long family, Arthur, Karen & Kennedy reporting for vacation is LIMEGREEN!
Are we boarding in LG or saving them for 3:00 at scoops?

What he doesn't know is that I bought all three of us 4th of July shirts too.

What's the deal with the docs? I received room #, main dining, what to pack, onboard credit from TA. I downloaded the travel docs (at work of course) so they would be filled out prior to boarding. What are the docs that the other DIS families received via UPS? :confused3

I loved all of the obessive, compulsive, addictive comments. Sure glad you all aren't talking about me. So I shouldn't even tell you that this is my second time typing this message because I tried to edit/spell/grammar check it but I lost the original message. I know the teachers in the group are decisive. :teacher:

It would be interesting to see how many people in this group are teachers, for that matter, there are 2 engineers in our group (and I think I read that someone else is involved in that field). Either way, we'll all just be this mass of lime green on Saturday. We'll be coming to the dock in lime green (and hope to make it to the meeting spot - provided we are even on the ship at that point). As for docs, I would guess (since we don't have ours yet to be certain) :sad2: that the paperwork that people are referring to would include the colored tags we are to put on our luggage (didn't I read that we have to do something like that), as well as a hard copy of the papers that we can download. Anything else we should be expecting (from those of you in the know)? :confused3

Thank you Amy. I guess I'll add that to my "to do" list.

So sorry  Yesterday I mentioned that we should meet on Deck 10 above Scoops - I meant to say Deck 10 above Pinocchio's Pizza. I must be going crazy with all this planning  Some are now saying Deck 10 and others are saying Scoops. Where should it be??? Should the whole group show up (including KIDS) there will be approximately 80 people for the meet.. OK past cruisers - where can 80 people meet comfortably. However, the time has been set for 3:00 :wizard:

No Docs yet :scratchin , let see if my Accounting Degree can help me figure out how much it will cost when I have to buy all the Drinks!!! Let's see 80 times average cost of $3.00 less those that might not show plus tips and other expenses ... WOW -- I am glad my DW is a Loan Officer, I may need one when this is all done! :faint:

To all the Teachers on this Thread, so sorry for all my grammatical errors and typos ; however, you know what they say about Accountants and Doctors - writing is not are forte. I truly appreciate all you do for our children, both my Bro in law and Sister are Teachers.

Karen, I glad you husband has decided to join us in the GREEN shirts! :bounce: we should all be wearing them by the time we get to the terminal so we can recognize another DISBOARD member.

Leo, Thanks for all your info - it will be posted this weekend. As for the Docs, the Docs that you download from the DISNEY web sight are not the official cruise docs that you will obtian for bording the cruise. The official docs will have more info for you and luggage tags with your room number.

My DS last day of school is tomorrow - I guess it is time to lock up the computer before he breaks it :badpc: - I know he will be on :cloud9:

Have a great day. :thewave:

I forgot to add - for those of us who have 18 plus children.

There is a Mix & Mingle for ages 18 to 25 on Sunday eve. 1015pm - don't remember seeing that before in our previous two cruises (perhaps I did not notice since one was not 18 yet). It's nice that they have this for their age - hopefully my son and Wendy's son will take a look - without my recommendation of course.

Just popping in to say hello - I'm azptcruiser and zebramom's 21-year-old daughter, figured I should drop by since the whole family was getting involved here on the board. Wouldn't want to miss out on the fun. :D

As far as I know, they've had this mixer on past cruises, although I never attended. But since there seems to be quite the contingent of young adults this time around, perhaps it'll be worth going to. From what I recall from past cruises, it's one of the only events designed specifically for the 18-to-25 group.

Three weeks to go - I can't wait!

Hello fellow cruisers!

No docs yet - but we got our cabin assignment - 6532 :Pinkbounc
I hope I don't become a "veranda widow". If DH could watch sports out there and he had enough "beverages" he'd never come out :)

DH is an engineer as well. A very stressed out one as of late. He's normally high strung anyway! Cruises seem to work well for us because he can hide out and I can learn to fold napkins in fancy shapes, play silly games, socialize, etc.

I am neither an interior designer or a teacher. I am a Domestic Engineer :wizard: Yet, the house is usually a mess and at 6 or 6:30 I'm still trying to figure out what to do about dinner :teeth:

My youngest and I will have something on with green since we love the color and have a few items already. Oldest and hubby are doubtful. I did realize if i found a Mt. Dew t-shirt it would likely be green (don't know about lime green) and I bet the oldest would wear that :teeth: They didn't have one at Penny's and I didn't think of it 'til after I'd left Kohl's.

Time to hit the hay and dream of the Big Brown Truck!

Hello, Ashlle....

Glad you joined in! I'm with you........I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!! Three weeks from tomorrow. :)

Jim......don't worry, I'm not grading your work. :flower: You may not be able to write..........but I'm not much for math. THAT is 1 reason I stick to first grade. Keep it simple!!!! That is my motto. (ask XLT about my math skills) :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Happy Last Day of school to your son! :cheer2:

Another teacher here! I taught pre-K and then 2nd grade for several years. The last few years I've subbed and have done private tutoring. I'm considering going back in September part time as a reading intervention teacher. The school year ends really late here- June 28 is the official last day. DD graduates 8th grade June 24.

Sherry, You must be my long lost identical twin sister!! My DH is an Engineer and I stay home with the monkeys also. By the time my DH gets home it looks like a bomb exploded in my house and I swear I've picked up everything 5 times by then!! My neighbors that work all have nice clean houses to come home to but I know why..they bring there kids to my house to play when they get home so there kids don't have time to destroy their houses.

Are you guys getting scared about all the talk about getting the flu on board. Please put me out of my misery now if I get on the ship and get stuck in the cabin with sick kids or I get sick myself. A compulsive planner's worst nightmare! :sad2: Let hope they get it under control in the next few weeks!!

I don't think I'll be able to talk DH into lime green anything. We'll see. Maybe if I make it worth his while!! :love2:

Now atleast we have the time down. 3:00 sounds great to us. I think the last cruise got on late because they were scrubbing down the ship. You all decide where we will meet.
Amy :flower:

On the live from the June 4th thread................ Judy said that they were suppose to leave PV at 8:30, but for some unknown reason, they changed it to 5:00. Does everyone think this will still give us to for the zip lines????

Flu on the ship................ugh!

Don't worry Fran, that was Mazatlan that they left early. I don't have my docs right here but I don't remember them saying that we leave late at Mazatlan anyway?? Amy :flower:

I won't touch that one. Lets just say that she is an awsome 1st grade teacher. :rotfl: :rotfl: Accountants, engineers, teachers and Lawyers.....I didint know that wees had to be reel smart to goes on dis cruise :rotf l2:

ashlle.....welcome to the group.

Amy...no problem if you get sick with the kids, your DH can join me and Jim and Karens DH,and Sherrys DH and azptcruiser and Ron and Dave in Diversions for a little :drinking1 time. I promise we will take real good care of him. We will have to make this trip to Diverisions before July 4th so we can warn Karen's DH about the July 4th shirts :rotfl:

Is it 5pm anywhere yet so I can go home????? Well back to work I go.

Dave

Teacher here, married to an engineer. Daughter of an engineer and a teacher (well, step-mom is a teacher and step brother, too, for that matter), so there must be some genetic/environmental influence. Anyway, I have learned much restraint in correcting grammatical errors in my peers. Not to worry--I may think it, but I'll never say it out loud! :bitelip:

DH has agreed to wear a green shirt! :bounce: And if all you engineers can get together and talk binary language, he'll be a happy camper :goodvibes Or maybe he'll be happier if he doesn't have to think about engineering for a week.

Deck 10 above Pinocchio's at 3:00, then? We'll be there. :grouphug:

Fran, I think we will be just fine for ziplines. I even think that I will have time to stay back with John (if he does not make the height limit) and take a tour (at 1) and get back by 5. It will be close but do think we will make it. I am more concerned about that than getting back to the ship.

My REAL worry is being seasick. I have pretty much decided that I am going to live on bionne or dramamine. Hope it does not interfere with my foodrink consumption. I wish I had not read about other being sick on the ship. I guess I had better put clorax wipes on my list to bring.

Whinning and complaining now: I don't have my docs. It's not fair. I am not playing the buy drinks game. wah wah wah.

Not complaining now.... I'm off to get a massage!!! La de dah! It's a wonderful life.... So what if I don't have docs, I'll pick them up at the port, there's a long wait there anyway. Life is good, sun is out, docs will arrive when i least expect them....

Have a good friday. BTW My house is a MESS and I'm not cleaning it up!!! Bye

Darcy
