July 13 2008 Cruisin on the Wonder

Is anyone going to go watch WALL:E on the cruise? We are. I can't wait

USA Today has the most wonderful review today. I subscribe to augment our 5mm thick newspaper. The kids won't see it til we get on the ship:)

We actually have a 24 hour Walmart a couple towns over but this one was closer. If I need something before a trip I go to the 24 hour one.

Our schools depend upon the town. Most go back before labor day and have 3 weeks off a year plus summer. Up until this year I worked in a school system as a Speech assistant for severe special needs children.. IE downs, Cerebral palsy etc. Also a whole class of Autistic children.

Now again I work in the pharmacy due to being laid off last June.

wow you must be very patient:) Perhaps one day you will go back again. Bet you miss the kids:)

Well we have plans on moving to Florida in the next year so probably not till then. We are actually looking at houses after the cruise. We're going to stay with DH's Sister. He has 2 that live down there.

Well, make sure you have plenty of room for all of us:lmao: and a pool and spa! keep us in the lifestyle we have become used to:thumbsup2
Hey you could go and work for Disney and sneak us all in for free!

So is Wall E definitely showing on the cruise? Yea!

We are thinking about rebooking onboard, with a dummy date as far as we can get. We will be in Florida at our DVC in 2009 because I have already booked the flights, but we are hoping that the Magic might be doing the Med in 2010. That way we could just pick up a flight to Barcelona which would cost a fraction of the Florida flights. We are looking at $4000 for the 4 of us to fly to the US. I could get flights for under $1000 to Barcelona and it is a beautiful city. We were there last month. It is fabulous.

A dining question now.
I understand the rotational din ing bit that you move and your servers move with you, and that you will know your rotation when you get on board.

So just because some of us or on main dining, does that mean we will all start off in the same restaurant and follow the same rotation? Does that make sense? I'm assuming that all te restaurants are open every night.:confused3

We'll have to check with Michelle, too, but I believe all restaurants are operational. They just scatter the guests among the restaurants each night at the 2 dining times. That's another reason that even at dinner, none of us would possibly see each other ever. I believe we had Amimators Palate first and last night last year which was a good thing since I was way to dizzy to enjoy it the first time:)

My DH has 2 sisters 45 min SW of Disney so we're thinking near the same area would be nice. My DH is a disney fanatic...he's the one that got me to be a lover of Disney. I hadn't been till I met him.

Thats the same for us Michelle. I need to know that DD9 will be happy before I book Palo. Its something I can plan to do another time. Its a good excuse to rebook!!:rotfl:

Lesley, I completely understand. We have more freedom to book things due to the lack of children right now. In a couple years we won't be able to get Palo.

We're living it up now. haha

Hey ladies, As for dining you will get tickets in your stateroom that say your times and rotation. your rotation is sometimes related to the ages of children in your group. You all have early seating so some of you may be together. There is the ability to sit together if you wanted to but it needed to be done well in advance. you usually get 2 nights at 1 restaurant.

Michelle. All of this came from the Passporters Disney Cruise Line and it's ports of call book.

Sorry to be thick here!

So say I am on main dining and my first night is Animators Palate. Will everyone onboard the ship be dining at AP that night on two sittings? Or are others on main dining eating elsewhere at the same time?

So if Jen,Mari and I are all on main dining, are we all at the same restaurant:confused3

You may be with one of them but being that there are 3 main dining restaurants you could all be split up. Everyone with early seating is spread between the 3 restaurants then they follow a rotation. So if you aren't with them the first night you won't see them at dinner at all. You always have the option of meeting up when you board somewhere and looking at your ticket from your staterooms and find out where they are holding the changing of dining . We did this last year because they had us doing a restaurant we didn't want to do at all twice. Ask a castmember they would know.

Alright there are 3 different restaurants. For early seating everyone is split up between the 3 and then they follow the a rotation. If your not with any of the ladies the first night you won't see them for dining on any other night. When you get on the ship go to your stateroom and find out your dining which is on your ticket on the desk in your stateroom. You can all meet up and compare and then you can ask a castmember where you can go to switch your dining. This is an option. Also you can check your Navigator which will tell you everything occurring on any given day.

So if you want to be together you must meet and compare.
