July 13 2008 Cruisin on the Wonder

Awesome job on the fish extender! I love it!

And thanks for compiling the room numbers. You just saved me some searching.:cool1:

You're FE is wonderful Lesley..love the colorful fabrics..you did just great:)

We are the "chewable Bonine family". We chew them on bad amusement park rides, boat rides, plane rides. I split one in half for DS8.

We had a tough time our first night of the cruise last year and chewed some. Animator's palate the first night wasn't even enjoyable because everyone except DS8 was so dizzy. Our server from Singapore was so nice about it. She told us when we awoke, we'd be fine. And we were, but we will begin chewing our tablets sooner this year. I just ordered 3 boxes of 8.

I totally envy you Michelle for tolerating the patches:)

I was given a Transderm Scop Patch the night before my surgery to help with nausa and I was looking forward to using it to see if it would be good for the cruise, but it was too strong. No nausea from the anesthesia at all, but I couldn't even walk and I was so drowsy:( ..(so it just depends on what your body can tolerate). You can always pick up a box of Bonine at a Walgreens before boarding.:)

I'm laughing again! Of course being from Scotland, "chewable Bonine" sounds like some kind of dog biscuit to me! No offense meant there.:goodvibes

But you have all got me thinking. As we have never cruise before, we have just no idea how we might feel:confused3 Its the pharmacy for me tomorrow. Do you think they will laugh if i ask for chewable Bonine? They might send me to the pet store:lmao: :lmao:

Ugh...its 3:30pm Mountain time and it sounds like a surround sound Star Wars movie here..the thunder is awfully loudfor being so early in the day..the entire store is rattling/shaking about..hope we dont end up in the meat cooler for a tornado warning:eek: again. Anyone need anything on my way home..milk,eggs...:rotfl:

Does everyone but us have Palo reservations??? We wanted a brunch on Nassau morning, but they weren't serving that morning..

That's why this is so fun talking to people from other places..:thumbsup2. I could totally be offending you everytime I type..maybe in the UK they would laugh at you for chewable Bonine's (and hand you a biscuit:rotfl2: ) but in the US at a pharmacy counter, you'll be safe::yes:: or of course, I could just stick a box in your FE:lmao:

We're not doing Palo. It's our first Disney cruise, so there is plenty that is new to us. We don't plan to use Flounders for SeiJin either, so Palo is out. (I could change my mind about Flounders, but we'll see. Either way, we are not wanting to dress up any more than we have to.

Yeah Leslie we could give you a couple different things for sea sickness. I'll have extra Dramamine and we're on the same deck so you can make your way aft if you need something.

Thats why we booked Palo on the night they are doing dress up night.

I was using my noodle hehe

My luck they change the days and I'll have to wear the same dress twice lol.

and of course the whole ship would laugh and point that out to you:rotfl: I'm sure you would look wonderful in the same dress on 2 nights:)

Have a souffle for me ok?

Mari

Are you all planning on rebooking on board??? :cool1:

We did last year and we were actually supposed to be on the June 1st cruise. We changed the date in the fall after DS15 had a basketball camp. We've just about convinced DS13 to go to Disney World next year to celebrate 8th grade graduation and combine the trip with a 4 day cruise...:)

We're thinking about booking a longer cruise. We never graduated from 8th grade we just went on to 9th grade. Oh well.

We won't rebook. We have a family trip planned to WDW in November. I think we will miss Disney altogether in 2009, and go to Korea in the summer. Maybe something in January 2010?

Trishde and Lesley, if the kids get out of school this week...when do they return to school???

In New Jersey some of the schools are different, it depends on your district. Our town got out later than most (this past tuesday was their last day) but our school also takes the Jewish holidays too (Howell is huge and one of the few schools in our area that does, we get 2 spring breaks if passover & easter aren't near each other, and I think they alternate one year we get a 4 day for passover & 1 week for easter, the next year the other way)
Our kids always go back the Thursday after labor day.
My kids start full day summer camp on Monday & they will go until August 22nd (of course with the time off for disney & the cruise).

Leslie
Awesome job on those FE's. :thumbsup2 Looks like I'm headed to the craft store tomorrow after Dr's appointments.

We use non drowsy dramamine, chewables for the kids my ds7 hasn't had to use yet. We take ours at about noon right before we get on the ship. Very rarely do I have to take a 2nd dose & only on my first cruise I had to take a 3rd. Ginger capsules also help & I have found that if I take papaya chewable tablets everyday, that helps with any belly troubles from eating so much  :lmao:

In Nebraska, the school holidays are the strangest thing! We do get Labor Day off, but Veteran's Day is a school day, so when the veterans march in the parade there is no one, but pre-schoolers and retirees watching. Then Washington and Lincoln's Bdays are school days as well as Martin Luther King Day and every business but the post office is open for business. Spring break is the Friday before Easter and that's it. When we moved from California, I was itching to go somewhere for Spring break then found out, there isn't one. Maybe that's why Nebraska kids get out in May.:confused3. They are always in school!

I think it's great taking Jewish holdays off too. Sometimes I think why did we move somewhere so small? It took our last year's cruise for DS13 to meet a boy that couldn't play a food game b/c he was ate kosher..I was like..oh thank goodness you're learning about other people besides the few where we live:). I love the boys meeting other kids from other places:)

Mari:)

Oh my goodness..our Walmart is actually open later than yours???:faint: My you had to run fast!!!:)

We actually have a 24 hour Walmart a couple towns over but this one was closer. If I need something before a trip I go to the 24 hour one.

Our schools depend upon the town. Most go back before labor day and have 3 weeks off a year plus summer. Up until this year I worked in a school system as a Speech assistant for severe special needs children.. IE downs, Cerebral palsy etc. Also a whole class of Autistic children.

Now again I work in the pharmacy due to being laid off last June.
