July 13 2008 Cruisin on the Wonder

Hi all!!! Schools finally out (TODAY!!!) for NYC Schools, so Ive been trying to catch up on the thread. Looks like some of you are leaving very soon to begin your vacations!!! Just want to wish everyone a great trip - safe travel.
Hope to run in to you on the ship. Lets hope all of us and our families enjoy nice weather and great fun.

Our schools in Scotland finish tomorrow and we fly out Sunday.
I'm ironing (why I do NOT know as everything will be in suitcases for ages, I guess its OCD!)

wow - this thread definitely makes me feel like an outsider and unwelcome. I'm deleting my subscription. Hopefully the people I meet on the cruise are friendlier. I wish you a good cruise anyway.

I know I am way behind with everything. I would usually have all of our toiletries & extras packed by now (definitely bought everything we needed by now)
My DH, DSs(12 & 7) and MIL & FIL are leaving the 9th (I am leaving the 11th) and I have to pack for my hubby & boys. I have been working full time since the day after we got back from our 7day magic (started my new job the day after we got home), I was used to being home and having all of this done.
We are staying at BW.

Does anyone make the fish extenders or could I get one at target or walmart & decorate it myself?
I am off until tuesday so I have time to check the stores out. Gotta love this job, I work for a university & the time off benefits are awesome.

About scrapbooking stuff, Leslie since you are from the UK, if you are looking for scrapbooking stuff while you are here, I am sure there must be a walmart & or target close to Disney, if you are able to go off the property. I know here in NJ we have pretty good scrapbooking aisles at both of these stores.
There is also that awesome scrapbooking store at Disney marketplace, it is more expensive but it is all disney.
Also there is a Michael's craft store & ac moore craft store in the area (their websites have coupons & the sunday paper usually does too).
The other stores I mentioned also have a good selection of Disney items.

I've decided that they DO have shops in the US and they DO stock toiletries so for the first time in many years, I'm not going to overload with shampoo etc That is a huge weight off my mind...and my luggage allowance so that will allow me to squeeze in a few more crafting goodies

Now I have seen some on fleabay and very nice they are too.
the very gifted lady personalises them for you but I don't know how long it takes. You can just hang anything on there...I'll still put your goodies in!

I'm so ahead of myself...got my Expression ordered and extra cartridges! They are delivering it to BCV Hope to meet everyone!

So maybe I need to summarise about the FE??

California schools get out 2nd week of June where we used to live, but 2nd or 3rd week of May in Nebraska...Nebraska kids attend schools on most holidays and have no Spring break at all. That was a shock..!!

Mari our schools go back 18th August.
The schools in England break up nearer the end of July (Scotland always before the end of June) and they go back in September.

Maybe we break up so early because its nearly winter by Septemeber

Hey Lesley, But I like flubber. lol I know you would think because we have no children they would've placed us elsewhere. We were on deck 7 last year. I loved it up there. But we have a balcony so I'm happy. we can take the elevator right up to palo which is the good thing.

Gotta pick up my Scopalamine patches today (Trans Scop) . These are for sea sickness. Gotta have something just in case. Felt woozy last year during Palo. The last night is not a good night to go there. They are hauling booty to get back on time and my hubby and I were so sick. Thankfully all our packing was done that morning.

I was worried about having a balcony for this being our first ever cruise. I'm going to have a good look and see if my heart is up to it for next time.

Gotta pick up my Scopalamine patches today (Trans Scop) . These are for sea sickness. Gotta have something just in case. Felt woozy last year during Palo. I suggest taking something before you get on because if you start getting sick it's harder to stop it. I don't know if they sell ginger candy or stuff where you are. But maybe on the ship they'd have gingerale.
