July 13 2008 Cruisin on the Wonder

Last year we were on the 8:15pm rotation. There was also an 8pm and an 8:30pm late dinnertime. I'm pretty sure all the 8:15pm diners went to say Animator's Palate while all the 8:30pm people ate at say Parrot Cay and they all rotated with their dining peers each night. I don't think any restaurant is large enough to hold half the passengers and have the others be closed. I think there are just too many people to feed. I liked the whole staggered dining concept unless I was stuck starting dinner at 8:30pm or starting at the even worse 5:15pm (too early to get ready) time That's why I wanted to hear Michelle's take on it all since she was there as well.

Oh and we were at a table of 5 last cruise so it will be interesting to see if we dine alone or with another family and a very large table

We'll have to check with Michelle, too, but I believe all restaurants are operational. They just scatter the guests among the restaurants each night at the 2 dining times. That's another reason that even at dinner, none of us would possibly see each other ever. I believe we had Amimators Palate first and last night last year which was a good thing since I was way to dizzy to enjoy it the first time

All of the restaurants are open so there are passengers in all of the restaurants. You go to a different one each night & so far we have only sat with our family. I think if you are 2 or 3 people they put you with others but so far we have just been us at the table.
I also think that Goofy's, Pluto's and Pinnochio's are open in case you don't want a big dinner. That is usually where my 12 year old ends up if he doesn't come with us to dinner. He has no choice this time since my inlaws are with us.
If the kids are in the clubs, they also feed them. We are going to Palo on the last night so the kids will eat with the clubs.

We were seated with 2 very annoying people. He would order for her and call her madam and it was just plain annoying. He was very rude too.

wow..I am so impressed with you all leaving so soon. We wont get out of here til the 10th ..the dog needs to be boarded, the rabbits need to be boarded...whew...

That is so funny about being placed with some annoying tablemates. When we were in our mid twenties and childless, all I wanted was to meet nice couples our age. On a Princess cruise, we were placed with 2 other couples. One was in their 80's and all they did was complain that they werent placed with "Mabel and Fred over there" and then there was the couple from Holland that spoke no English. They wouldn't even make eye contact. We asked to be moved the next day

My dh, ds's and inlaws are leaving Wednesday the 9th and they will be at BW.
I have to work or (to have the house to myself for 2 days, not sure but I know as soon as I see my boys, they have no shot of not being with me ) I will arrive the 11th. Think I'll only be able to get to MGM but I am going to get a hopper pass so I can at least hit epcot too on Saturday night, plus we have chef mickey's for dinner so I am sure I will also hit MK.
Wouldn't be the first time I hit at least of the parks in one day.
My ds7 is now a big Indiana Jones fan & has never seen the stunt show (we saw it way back when). I am sure he will have the fedora & a whip before we leave mgm (sorry hollywood studios).
Tomorrow I am going to the craft store to get the stuff to craft my FE.
I also have to pick up the treats for the FE. Unfortunately it is too soon for those great jersey tomatoes but I have something else in mind

I just received an email this morning from the gal who I purchased our Fish Extender from.

She had emailed us that she'd be done and put it in the mail by yesterday (Saturday June 28), but now she's left on a week's camping trip and it won't be sent til July7 or 8th. So, there is NO WAY we will receive it now.

It was going to be sooooo nice.....

I'm sure with all the orders she processes she's forgotten when we leave..and then we cancel the mail a day early to boot since I always have to make sure the post office remembers to cancel our mail.

Ugh..oh well. I've already emailed her back, but I'm sure she's left for her trip.It would've been totally customized... Hopefully we will get a refund .

I'll probably put a message on our dry erase board or just hang up a pair of pants.

I am not sure how big these things need to be, but I have two. THe Mickey one I bought on ebay is cuter than I expected, it's more cloth than plastic, but pretty generic. Do a search for fish extender and look at the ones that have Pooh and the pink Mickey Mouse ones. This is like those, only blue. I can use my other one, which I like just fine, but it only has three pockets. That's big enough isn't it? If you want it, I can bring the Mickey one to your room and put it on your fish the first day.

By the way, are we just leaving treats whenever, or assigning days? I know Lesley won't see this, but if the rest of us pick a day, hers should fit whenever. What do you guys think?

I think that if I'm scheduled I'll forget. My opinion is to do it whenever is convenient for each family.
