John Travolta Scandal

I still don't know what to make of this scandal.


One one hand it sounds like some greed of trying to get 15 minutes of fame and some cash. (ie, John Doe #1 claim was false given JT was in New York at the time of the allegation, and the cruise ship guy who has been shown to be a habitual liar.)


On the other hand, more news keeps coming out of the woodwork . . . and where there is smoke, there's fire. (ie, the Atlanta masseuse reported it immediately at his place of work, and I just read today that a NYC spa had him banned for 3 years for inappropriate behavior.)


Honestly, I don't care if he is gay or straight. It just makes me wonder about all of this given his church is Scientology, and some hypocrisy would then come into play. And I would also feel sorry for his wife too.


Well, anyone else have thoughts on this? What do you think?

These stories (not just that he's gay, but that he frequents bathhouses, massage parlours, etc., and trolls for whatever and has been super handsy with workers) have been around yeeeeears.

Given stuff like the disbelief in psychology and Travolta's denial of his son's obvious autism for more than a decade (and quite specific lying about the boy's condition) and how high up he is in his church, I don't know that he'd be being hypocritical of anything, or I'm maybe not sure what you mean. Not looking to debate religion or anything.

Yes, I don't quite understand the statement, "given his church is Scientology, and some hypocrisy would then come into play."

Physically molesting anyone is a crime and immoral, regardless of church affiliation. Catholic priests molested children so it has nothing to do with any church affiliation or that some religions are immune. I think they all frown on molesting people.

Whether Travolta did it. I don't know. It's sad if he did. I thought he had one of the best comebacks of all time. sad that this time, his own actions may bring him down.

Yes, it is that what I meant. How they believe being gay is a sick and perverse illness that can be "cured."

Please note, my intent was never to debate the religion. NOT AT ALL. I was just trying to sum up my thoughts and that sentence got muddled in. Honestly, there are many people who preach beliefs and yet do the opposite. So, religion should not be involved in the topic. My apologies.

back to the topic at hand...


I remember hearing rumors long ago but not for some time. And I always took them with the grain of salt that had no proof.


I guess that is why when mulitiple allegations surfaced I started to take notice. And now that he has law suits against him I really wondered what others thought.

I have thought John Travolta was gay since one of the tabloids got a picture of him full on kissing a man coming off an airplane. There was no mistaking this was an embrace between two lovers, no way can I believe they were just friends.

Whether he molested anyone I don't know. In a he said/she said type situation how can anyone know for sure? I can't imagine he'd be so dumb to solicit strangers but on the other hand if because of his beliefs he is closeted, then he is going to crack eventually.

Several years ago I would read Blind Vice stuff and the forums along with it. He has been the subject of many rumors for a loooong time. There was one, before the pregnancy with his last child, where he was finally going to break with the church and come out, but his wife made sure it wasn't going to happen...rumor only, I have no idea what goes on in their home.
I feel bad for them if he does wish to lead a different life. It would be difficult on their relationship and to live with, in general.
