to remove a skin cancer from my face.
It sucked.
That's all.

Hugs to you Loriann
Just wanted to give you some encouragement. I also had Mohs surgery for a basal cell tumor on the edge of my nostril in 1997. It was a real downer being the only young woman there along with 70 year old men that were having parts of their ears, nose scalp removed.

The incision left a hole the size of a pencil eraser right at the edge of my nostril. I saw the plastic surgery people the next day, but there was nothing to do but let it heal on it's own. It remained very red for months as it healed. I was told most skin cancers patients will have another tumor within 5 years and most the pts there that day had been there multiple times.
Now 12 years later, the original hole is now a tiny white line that no one even notices. I have not had a recurrence of any kind of skin cancer although I have had 5 other suspicious areas biopsied over the years. We still vacation several weeks a year in tropical sunny locations. Even though I was never a sun worshipper, I have learned that the shade and plenty of sunscreen are my friends.

I have some clothing from Solumbra that I wear when I know there won't be much shade. Good SPF clothing is becoming easier to find, even Lands End has reasonably priced items. I should wear hats, but I can't stand them.
I spent the first 3 years of my life in the tropics and the next 18 years in Texas. The doctors told me that, combined with my very fair complexion, has lead to this. I lotion up daily with lotion that has a good SPF. The dermatologist tells me I am taking good care of my skin. I sympathize with you and know it's hard to have a big incision on your face. Take good care of yourself and you'll heal up in no time.
