Ho Ho Hum - Gifters and Re-Gifters unite

Yep, we hit it hard yesterday, I have to keep reminding myself that my children are teenagers I don't need to buy them stacks of junk just to have a big pile of presents.!

On that note, I ordered from ozgamingshop almost two weeks ago, my parcel hasn't arrived, better start worrying about that!

I'm waiting on a game from Wow CD. I got the CD I ordered at the same time, but the game still hasn't shown up

I was hoping to do a heap of Christmas shopping this weekend, but DH was home for the last time between now and Christmas, so I let him off the hook and we bummed around the house all weekend instead. Now to find time during my lunch breaks to get everything :rotfl:

I'm about to start licking or sticking stamps on my cards. Hoping to get them all out in the mail today.

Deadlines at work seriously interfering with the important stuff-like Xmas shopping. Have a list and plan to leave early on Wed and tick it all off or die trying! DD birthday (this year her 21st) is also on 23rd Dec so always have that to factor in. Luckily she's only having a few close friends over for a casual BBQ-didn't want a grand party but has put in an order for a Hitchhiker (Guide to the Galaxy-Douglas Adams her all time fave author) cake. Have googled a design off the net - hopefully it won't be the fiasco trying to make a Tardis (aka Dr Who) was for her 18th!! Memo working with royal icing in very hot temps on an upright rectangle does not work-it slumps!

How's everyone's Chrissie prep going?

15 days to go.......:faint:

Very good. Have one nephew (Target stuffed up my online lay by), my MIL (most impossible person in the world to buy for) and my dad and I'm done! Hooray for online shopping :)

Ordered calendars and amazon for Grandpa yesterday, phoned a shop who have three of DD2s presents on hold which I shall pick up on my way home tonight. Shall order DD1 s from the apple shop today. Got dd2 present from big sister online yesterday as shop didn't have her size here. Will take dd1 shopping Thu night and then one last solo run on Sat should see me don. I've got my head in the game.

photo please of tardis......i do enjoy a good cake wreak :thumbsup2

as for my shopping....will do it all on thursday...i have budgeted $30 per person this year...amazing the ideas you have to come up with when not spending a fortune....DS1 & DS2 are getting snack baskets of american chocolates etc from reject shop.....

Gk's are a bit harder...you want to spend up big for them...but they have enough stuff....

As we are moving interstate on the 21st christmas is very much voucher time. Easily posted and whilst not very personal they are very practical. One exception though for DS3 whose phineas and ferb toys should be arriving from the Disney store any time now. $20 of toy...$40 of delivery fees!! He has been talking about it since we left without buying them at Disneyland in late August !

Sometimes you just got to do, what you just have to do. I am so disappointed they are not selling my Christmas Tree cone things that DD's smashed before I even got to put up, the smallest of the three survived.

And have just spent $20 on postage for the $60 Kindle cover with light for my dad who didn't want a kindle in the first place, so we bought one over there and now wants to know why his doesn't have a light like ours.

No matter what, just buy it there when you think of it.

Just ordered new IPOD for DD1 from Apple Store. They have the colour she wants, have had it engraved and they will deliver it right to my office. Free shipping and I can just go TICK, that is her big item done!

Musk purfume, yes!!

Where would I be without my nana? Well, I'd probably have piles from sitting on cold concrete for a start! Headed your warning there Nana, yes I did, and my bottom thanks you every day.

And don't forget to tuck your singlet in so you don't get a chill in your kidneys. And never go to bed with wet hair or you'll wake up with a cold. :rotfl2:

I love my nans :littleangel:

Cards went in the mail yesterday.
Decorations are up.
Presents are wrapped and under the tree; all except for 2 that I still need to get.

Just food to go.

It's definitely beginning to feel like Christmas!

You're disgustingly too organised-come up to Qld and take over for me!! :p

How did your Christmas shopping go Wendy? Did you get it all done?

Don't worry, everyone can stop worrying! The game I've ordered has arrived, and so did my mum's pressie, and my brothers (he's a big tech head, so I bought him an Atari :rotfl: ) so they're wrapped and under the tree, now just to get almost everyone else done... :headache:

I'm annoyed with myself, because usually I've got all my Christmas shopping done before November. This year I've just had no motivation or energy, so I've neglected it...

Just for Karen. The Tardis was destroyed by the time I finished so no pics. I found a template on the net I downloaded and sat up til midnight cutting out and putting together. I had bought her the Tennant and Capt'n Jack figurines so more cake and salvaged icing went into making rather dodgy Daleks!

One parcel from Think Geek has arrived-just Cafe Press to go. 3 gifts bought on way home today ticks off Mum, Dad and best friend's boy (since they have always bought DD a gift). Ring for DD's main 21st gift collected and that's her done once Cafe Press arrives. Just gift cards to buy and send to nieces and nephews in Darwin and a book to buy for DH-late night shopping tomorrow night should take care of those. On the work front major submission should be finalised tomorrow and delivered to printer next week-YAAAY! Xmas deco's are up - and accom for DLP for May next year booked. Have to ring local volunteer firies and get permission to have a fire for DD's 21st Sat week (for once no fire ban yet this year so she is hanging out for a fire-we live on acreage but the leader of the local brigade lives 2 doors up!) There's a light at the end of the tunnel! :firefight

That's unlucky about your neighbour :) After cyclone Yasi there were rural fire brigade trucks crawling all over our area, probably looking for illegal fires. I had managed to make 3 massive piles of fallen timber across our property and there was no way I was going to drag them to the front for the council to collect! So I bided my time, lit one fire then ran next door - if the firies turned up I was going to pretend I didn't know where the 'neighbours' were and the fire must have started by itself! I'm quite find of fires, especially when there are marshmallows involved :)
