Wow, what do they put in the water out there on the other side of the "pop line". You actually believe a professional sports franchise, full of professional competive athletes would purposely throw a game, and take the chance of breathing life into an opponent. No team would do that, rationalize the whooping anyway you see fit, but that would never happen.

Let's not forget when they beat the flyers (which I don't thinl will be Sunday) they will be playing the Red Wings , think maybe tehy might wanna get those pesky flyers out of the way as soon as possible to rest up for Lord Stanleys cup championship?
The short answer....ummmm yeah.
Just one more reason not to "purposely" lose to anyone.

I do think the Pens will win, but don't underestimate the Flyers ability to win one or two more.

As for Sniffly Sid, he's a punk(can't use more accurate words seeing how this is a family board), a very very talented punk, but a punk none the less. He will fight when he thinks he has a shot, but he knows Richards woulda tore him up, that's why he wouldn't fight. He was all happy when he got his Gordie Howe hat trick a couple of months ago. He fought Andrew Ference, a guy with 50 whole PIM in 59 games, there's a guy who can muck it up.

Stanley champs will be the Red Wings in 6 games.

Everyone knew that they didn't throw the game it is a joke. Yes the Flyers "might" win one more but they aren't going to win three straight.

There was no sense of Crosby fighting at the end of the game first of all what was the point? Other than the fact that Richards wanted to put a show on and second of all he goes and gets hurt and is out. Plus it pi**ed Richards off more that he didn't fight. It is not worth it how many times did Lemuiex fight not very often? If Richards is such a tough guy why doesn't he fight Laraque or one of our other guys that is a fighter? Sid is three times a better player then any of the Flyers so fine if that makes him a punk then I will take it. The Flyers are irritated because they beat up Montreal and can't do it to us it hasn't worked.

Detroit is a great team and it would be a very hard series and even if they make it to the stanley cup and loose the point is we still got there.

while sniffly Sid averages 1.36 ppg, not that big of difference. That is just taking into account the "skill" factor of the game. Is SS more of a "skill" player, I would be a fool to argue that point, of course he is. But Richards is far from a goon, 28G 47A, a point per game player. Not to mention he is a fantastic leader. Oh and Richards can skate with pretty much anyone in the NHL, have you even watched him play? Or are you too fixated on SS.

Why shouls SS drop em with Richards? Why not , they are both skill players, either one could get hurt. You fight because it's what hockey players do, if you are not going to hurt your team wuth the penalty, you fight when your challenged.

BTW in the greatest hockey season by any player EVER The Great one averaged 2.69 ppg. i think we all can agree Gretzky was the best player to ever lace 'em up, and that season will never be duplicated. he still fell .40 ppg short of 3.09 ppg.

Thats totally correct, the PENS will win! We just wanted to get the revenue back in the city(notice that detroit did the same thing for thier last game--thats not a coincidence) and also we wanted to kick some flyers a$$ while we are HOME! My girlfriend- has gone to most of their home games during the playoffs & they didn't lose any, I told her it was her fault they lost last nite (though not a home game- she still wasn't there). She is going on Sunday, so I think they'll win. Delusions of Grandure I know

i give you credit!! i would never undertake a sports conversation about a philly team w/ a true diehard from philly! my brother (who passed away in 2000 at 42) bled eagle green! i always felt bad he never got to see the eagles win a sb. we would yap at each other for hours, and wow,he would get goin!! (iam a cowboy fan) (and yankees) so i slept w/ one eye open! anyway, i like reading the "yappin" reminds me of the good ole days!

My DW has friend , born and raised in Philly, but they for some reason are Pitts fans. (I feel for their children) .
We went to Pitts to see a Phils/Pirates game, I absolutely love Pitts., we had a great time. PNC park was very nice, (citizens bank bp is much nicer though). We did union station and had a blast, we went to top of the incline, and watched the fireworks. It was good stuff, and the people are much nicer than us philly people .
I will surely go back.
