HBO's Game of Thrones Season 5....current episodes, no future spoilers

uhh... they're jumping into Winterfell's moat... The moat is clearly seen when they throw Myranda off.

How is the moat outside the castle visible when they thre Myranda off a catwalk into the inner castle courtyard? And even if Winterfell has a moat (which I don't recall there being) it would be frozen solid and a certain death.

Can someone explain to me why Dany dropped the ring? It felt so dramatic, and yet, I could not remember the point of the ring and why this was important!

Two-fold. First, she is leaving behind clues to anyone searching for her (according to the link I posted above with a recap by the producers) and second, smart to not have shiny objects indicating your worth when set upon by an angry horde of Dothraki.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks!

Wasn't Dany married to a Dothrakian? I wonder if they will take her under their protection.

Kudos to Lena Headey for her scene of the shame walk. That must have been really difficult to do.

my bad, I just re-watched the scene, what looked like moving water, was just texture on the ground.

Winterfell is built with 2 high walls along the perimeter separated by a moat.

we're both right, they are jumping into the moat, which is filled with snow presently.

Why are we giving props to Lena Headey then? It's the body double who did all the hard work.

Actually the facial emoting Lena Headey has brought to the role has taken the character from the book, who I cannot stand, to the screen -- where the performance has given me shadings where I'm trying to find an understanding of the person. The performance of the actress has taken the character to places I couldn't find on the page, just as Charles Dance did with Tywin.

Not to overlook what it took for the body double to help get the walk on screen.

I don't believe the Dothraki have much love for Dany with her bringing Mirri Maz Duur to treat Drogo.... That didn't go very well...

True. Also the fact Dani was a Khaleesi could be seen as a challenge to the power structure under the current Khal(most likely) or Khaleesi. I think they take the stance to remove all challenges to their power pretty seriously.

Also, I don't think that Dothraki tribe is the same one as her original tribe with Khal Drogo.

My sister and I were chit chatting and we think:

When they try to burn Jon Snow's body, it won't burn, because he is truly a Targaryen. Rhaegar Targaryen (Daenerys' older deceased brother) kidnapped Lyanna Stark (Eddard Stark's sister), we believe Rhaegar and Lyanna are Jon's parents and when Lyanna died, Eddard took Jon back home as his own child ("Eddard Stark would have never had a *astard child", was said in one of the episodes)

Also, Melisandre told Stannis, "did you see the snow in the fire"

I didn't know she had used a body double. The emotions she showed though was still quite something. I imagine it was still a tough scene all the same.

But nooooooooooo...if Jon is a Targaryen, then there go my hopes of him and Dany hooking up!

Khal Jacqo is in the same khalesar as Drogo was and along with Khal Po who also split and named himself Khal after Drogo. Unless something has changed or I have misinterpreted the books it is his khalesar (Jacqo)that finds Dany.
