Has anyone just returned from the BWV???

I'm leaving next Saturday and can hardly stand the waiting!! We never made it last year so it's been 2 years since I was "Home".

I would love to hear how the renovations are going, what changes did they make (if any) to the Luna Pool, were you able to get your room early, where did you eat??

Just talk to me about the Boardwalk Villas!!!!!!!

Well, I did not just come back, my last trip to BWV was during Memorial Day.
The renovations at that time were almost finished (they should be done by now). The renovations look wonderful, everything is freshly painted, with new awnings, etc. Luna park did not have any changes made, it was just freshly painted and spiffed up--also looks great. They have also installed new carpet since your last visit which is very nice --look for hidden Mickeys! The new carpet in front of the elevators is especially cute!
We got into our room by 9:30 AM AND we got a boardwalk view! We were right over BRG with a wonderful view of the boardwalk, Crescent Lake, Spaceship Earth, etc. Needless to say we were doing the happy dance of joy!! It was a great room and as always we enjoyed emmensely staying at our beloved BWV.
We ate at many of our favorite Epcot resort and WS restaurants:
Flying Fish, Big River Grill, ESPN, Yachtsman's Steakhouse, Yacht Club Galley, Le Cellier, Chefs de France, Mitsunoma Lounge, Morocco and Rose n Crown. We also ate at assorted other restaurants all around WDW including O'hana, Rainforest Cafe, WCC, Kona Cafe, Cal Grill and Flame Tree Barbeque. All meals were very good.
We saw a lot of different entertainment on the boardwalk, there were more acts scheduled because of the holiday so we saw: the rolling piano player, Randy the juggler, a magician and a comedy skit (similiar to the streetmosphere acts at MGM).
I am now counting down the days to my next trip --41 days to go, Yahoo-- but the next trip I am staying at BCV for the first time and I am really excited to try this resort out.

By any chance did anyone happen to check out the Luna Park pool on a "cleanliness" basis? When we visited last August, the tiles were incredibly dirty -- could hardly see poor ol Dumbo! (or "Gumbo" as my dd calls him). Very dirty. And leaves leaves leaves all over the patio area around pool. Just needed a good clean-up -- a very stark contrast to the cleanliness of say, the VWL main pool and quiet pool.

The pool, pool tiles and the whole pool area was immaculate in May.

Just got back last Wednesday and the renovations were all done. We checked in and it did not seem that we had been assigned a room yet. The CM asked if we had a smoking preference. We had requested on our reservation N/S, upper floor. She looked for an open room and the first one she offered was a fifth floor Boardwalk view above the brewery. It was my third trip and my first Boardwalk view. Everything looked great and the view was awesome.

We were in the Disney stores on the Boardwalk on Friday. I commented that they seemed so bright and open. Then it dawned on me. The last time we were in the stores, they were covered with scaffolding and canvas and, yes, they were very dark inside.

We've been back about 3 weeks, and found everything to be neat and clean, especially by the pool, where I spent most of the time. At that time they weere still painting the front of the building by the standard view rooms. We stayed on the thrid floor, and I thought the carpeting was a bit dirty, but they were planning on cleaning it right after we checked out. To be fair, the hallway was dirty because our toilet leaked into the hall, and everyone got their shoes cleaned from the flood! They fixed that at 1 am, but it sure didn't take long with 3 people working!!

Thanks for all the updates. This is how I keep my sanity while I'm counting down the days, hours, minutes......
