Hi everyone! How did training go this weekend? I did a 3 mile run this morning and I'm planning on another one tomorrow.
And Dolce, no picturesThat is one of my favorite things about Disney runs. (Though I recognize they must be taken in moderation.)

We'll convince Dolce to take pictures - and Maroo to take less!! *wink *nudge *wink
I have an "urgent" sleep study tonight. I think they are afraid I am going to fall asleep in my car?I don't think there is anything wrong with my sleeping. I think I have some sort of infection/mono...something...that is making me very tired. But my regular doctor wanted me to see a sleep dr and I saw her today and she wants me to get it done tonight (they had an opening and since I can't string words to make any sense without yawning - she figures I should take it instead of waiting.)
Anyway. This messes up my plans to walk. But may really help me in the long run.
**ETA: See...even this POST doesn't make any sense. And I am just going to leave it.
DH was laid off from Job #xx - He is a software engineer, he is working as a consultant (its called contractor) so he's getting hours, but he's not an employee... and its not 40 hours per week... so we're still walking on water, believing in our faith!

Liz has started a support thread for Half Marathoners on the event/comp board - so come in post and get to know some WISH'ers - one poster Syko is a wheelchair competitor - and her sponser lets her give a bag of goodies for the first WISH'er over the finish line as well as the last WISHER!!
its always my thought that the last person works so much harder than the - well not the first wave - but the others!! 2 hours of course work vs 4 hours... (or whatever the numbers are!!)
I have something blocking me from working on training. Definate fear. Fear of failure, fear of a medical problem (there is none that I know of - its just a fear... like a panic attack...)
I'm real good at training and diets for 2 weeks - then I drop off... completely!! staring at that 17 min mile is really depressing me!

DH is still struggling to prove his worth to Honeywell in hopes of gettting a job - or an extension of his current salary - they are trying to make him work more hours for less money - and trust me - we cant afford the latest cut in salary - I just feel stupidly grateful that everything for Jan '09 ( except for soueveniers and alcohol!! ) is PAID FOR!! (ok well truth is I havent all the money for tickets and Dining Plan, I convert money to Disney Dollars, and I'm about 2/3 way there!!and Christmas is coming!!)

Sandy - No Fear.
I repeat.
No Fear
If you don't train than you'll be stuck doing 17 minute miles... FOREVER!
You don't want that - do you?
So, go and train! train! train! And then on January 9 you'll walk faster than 17 minute miles.
Oh, and may I suggest? You've admitted that in '08 you got caught up in the excitement at the beginning of the race and started out waaaay too fast. Practice to not start out so fast this time since what happened was that it burnt up all of your energy in '08. You want to reserve that energy and keep constant pace throughout the race so that you do not have to worry about being swept.
I wish I could. Well maybe I could.. what do you do with a 4 year old while you are running? I doubt I can tell my DD I am going to Disney without her!Tim
Have you decided to join us yet for 2011?

Sandy...
You will not fail... you cannot fail!
You can do it!
Keep plugging away.. keep your training going!!!!!!!!
You got that right!I know a babysitter - certified by Red Cross - and she comes cheap too!!
You name an obstacle, and this group is going to brainstorm a way around it, over it, under, through it, or build a bridge and move it!!
... *sigh....
I wouldn't have a problem with someone watching her but DW might.Tim - You can totally bring her! They offer babysitting services from people that are totally checked out and they can come real early and just sit with her while she sleeps. I am not sure if that would scare her? When she wakes up? But depending on how late she sleeps, she may sleep through you running and not need much in the way of childcare.
There also may be some of us who are not going to walk/run for some reason and could watch her. But I know we are crazy internet people. I do have refrences from other DISers...that's all I am saying! (But I plan to walk in 2011!)
No results from the sleep study and you guys are about the 6th people that told me I need to get some vitamins...so I am going to do that! Soon! I should know something in the next week or so about the sleep study. Funny how it is a big "emergency" and then I won't know for a week?![]()
Meanwhile my car is dead. I think it needs a new alternator or something electrical is wrong with it that is draining my battery.
Sandy - Don't be afraid! Think of how WELL you did in 2008 with only some training! You can do even better this time...and make it!!! Even if you DID do 17 min miles...you start at the beg of the corral...you still make 3 hours and 45 minutes! So...go for it! Train! You can do it!!!![]()

I second this !!!!!!! Keep going!!!! January is only a few months away!!!!You all are doing so great in your training!! I'm so proud of you.

What's going on with your PTR? I know from other threads you have been busy... but too busy to post on your own PTR??? You want me to go 'stir' things up over there?
I missed why you needed to be in a sleep study? Do you think you have sleep apnea?
