Guests uning quick service restaurant tables

Thanks for the dole whip, I meant counter service in my post, my mistake. And I still think you are wrong in your statements, as otherwise, 99.9% of the tables would be full, all the time.

That might be difficult when crowds are low......

Is there some sort of problem with English comprehension here? 1. we are not talking about table service restaurants (I kinda said that twice already). 2. YES, virtually everyone with a family does this in McD's (billions and billions served, and all that), BK, Wendy's, Taco Bell (do I really need to go on?). 3. it's not a problem even at WDW when the crowds are low (hence, not a rule then).

Virtually everyone in their normal, everyday life, when they go into a counter service restaurant with any sort of group does this. Yes, they actually do, I'm sorry that you live in a land of make believe, but fortunately for the rest of us, the really real world actually exists, and judgemental, myopic people like you are generally the ones that aggravate us when we are trying to enjoy our vacation.

Have a dole whip and a smile and ........

:thumbsup2
1) I think we all know we're talking about CS and not TS.

2) Comparing Disney CS to McDonalds is comparing apples to oranges. I've never saved a seat at either, but even so, my local McDonalds or whatever, is never so crowded that there aren't tables. But my town's entire population is what MK will handle sometimes in a day, and not everyone in my town eats at McDonalds ever day, not even close. But a very large percentage of MK guests probably eat at one of the CS locations each day. So like I said, apples and oranges.

3) That is simply not true. I always go during off season, when unfortunately that don't enforce the no tables, no food policy, and there are quite a few times I've gotten something to eat and have had nowhere to sit except for the sidewalk.

Well, that's an oxymoron - normal people don't care, they just want to sit? Of course they care, because they want to sit, but people are there without food, waiting for someone else who is in line for 10-15 minutes or so.

I believe in harm none, so I will wish you this - may your next trip to WDW be full of people at tables, especially when you would like a place to sit, with your tray of food. When this happens I wish you the enlightenment so that you see how rude it is to sit at a table without food while others are trying to find a place to sit.

So, you wish me ill but believe in "harm none". Oxy, we've found your moron.

I'll wish you this, that your next trip be filled with the unrealistic expectations you so obviously have. Hat tip - the reason it's a "problem" is because it is what normal people do in their everyday life. Not everyone actually believes that once you enter Walt Disney World, the really real world ceases to exist.

Seriously, chill and roll with it. I'm the most nonconformist you'll ever talk to, but people here seem to think that everyone does and should think like they do. In some cultures, it's actually considered polite to belch. Here it is not. When you're discussing things like this, you have to have the common sense to take societal norms into the equation.

But I digress, "common" sense is such an oxymoron.

Then the PP shouldn't have said TS.

Just because you haven't had this issue at your local McDs isn't relevant. It's a direct comparison between CS restaurants. In fact, I've been to several where people were looking for tables.

When it is not enforced, it isn't policy. I've been through this very same thing myself, but I'm not all monthly-ated at anyone because I understand exactly why it happens. BTW, it is true in general, hence the reason they don't enact the policy at that time. Yes, on any given day it could be a problem, but it isn't a systemic problem all of the time (or they would actually invest in extra seating, since it wouldn't be cost effective to institute this provisional policy full time).

ETA - I said nothing about "offseason", I said it isn't a problem when the crowds are low.

English really must be a second language to a lot of folks here.

Yes, you're confused. I'm sorry. English comprehension apparently isn't anyone's specialty.
Any time you want to stop talking down to people, please do. When I'm confused, I say I'm confused. I apologize for not being clearer. I should have said, "I sense some confusion on the part of the quoted poster" before I went on to clarify to what they and it referred. I didn't realize that was necessary given the negative comments about others' reading comprehension.

Yep, you're right. I apologize. I totally misread what you were saying. I will say this, in my humble defense, I did not imply that Disney cared one whit about what people on here are saying (and honestly, that's what I focused on, again, it really was my mistake). I said something along the lines of "people are complaining about not having seats", my intent was to show that this new policy wasn't because people were mostly saying "those people are just sitting there not eating and I can't find a seat", because they are not. They (in this case, the customers) mostly don't care about what other people are doing. They simply want to sit down and eat.

Sorry folks, unless they have a posted sign that says I can't have a table it's fair game. Snooze you lose, dog eat dog world, survival of the fittest kind of thing. I see an empty table at a crowded quick service and I practically jump on top and scream "yeah!!!! I gots me one!".

I will say that I make sure we eat as quickly as possible and move on. No dilly dally, but I am NOT standing there with 3 kids with a try of food and drinks trying to snag empty tables. You call it rude. I call it a plan of attack.

Pretty much the whole world (outside of the "world") agrees with you.

And thus, why the real world is filled with selfish jerks who only care about their own needs and then raise selfish jerk children who then go on to raise selfish jerk children........

How proud these people must be.....

Worlds a tough place. Gotta get um ready.

Doesn't ADA have a part about having accessible tables? There should be a percentage of tables with at least one less chair, and a blue HA icon, and a clear enough area around it to negotiate in a wheelchair. I'll try to find the section tomorrow, if I have time.

Here:

http://www.access-board.gov/adaag/html/adaag.htm#4.2

There should be 36 inches of clear space.

It is not my intention to siderail this thread, but this caught my attention. I too, have the same issues as Talking Hands. When I travel to WDW it is usually myself and DD who is in a WC. We usually travel at low season, so the dining at CS restaurants is not a problem. But very often, the tables which are convenient are not accessable. People usually grab the most convenient tables and we have to worm our way past, and try to excuse ourselves as we ask people to move their chairs closer to their tables so we can get through. When I look at your link, I didn't see anything about tables specifically marked for WCs or blue HA icons. Perhaps that wasn't the link you were thinking of, or maybe I just missed it. Hopefully, you can tell me which numbered post it is so I can read about it. :flower3:

Dining and restaurant discussions should be posted on the Dining boards or in this case Universal board.
Therefore thread is closed.
