Fell off the ride?

Yes, God forbid you should ask a question about falling in the water at a water ride and people start talking about a water ride.

I know you're "not interested in Statistics and stuff," but the point here is that when people fall in (and at Disney, it's pretty darn hard to accidentally fall in), they can quickly become statistics.

I don't think you should ask a question if you only want people to give you the answers you want instead of the answers you ask for. But maybe that's me; I get cranky after a long day.

I was getting the impression that people didnt understand what I was asking.

Didn't think that would hit such a nerve. Wasn't intending to be rude. Sorry if it came off that way.

I was there amny years ago when a child was getting off IASW early. He realized he was getting off too early and went to get back on as the boat began to move. That's when he slipped and got part of his body wedged b/w the boat and the dock. The ride was closed for the rest of the day and the child was taken to the hospital. We were never able to find out what happened after that.

I refuse to go to the water parks anymore- ;) I have never been able to "master" just gliding gracefully into the water at the end of a tube ride. I always end flipping completely over on my face- Of course everyone waiting at the bottom quite enjoys this 40 something woman as she emerges like a rocket gasping for air! :rotfl:

But no I have never seen anyone fall off a ride- But does a person falling off the steps at the Sorcerers Hat and chipping her front tooth count???? (that was NASTY!)

I know a guy whose father was killed when his truck slipped into gear and moved forward (at "idle" speed), pinning him to a fencepost. When you're stuck between a heavy moving object and a stationary object, you're going to get squished.

I can see that. The way it was described, I was thinking he was just struck and not pinned against anything.

I got "hit" by my friends' car once going very slow. It made me made, but that was about it. Maybe a scraped shoulder from landing on the ground.

I didn't see a person fall out, but a thing. On KS, a woman raised her camera to take a picture of an animal. The truck picked that moment to go over a big bump, and sure enough, her camera went bouncing, sailing right out. When the CMs say they can't stop to retrieve lost articles, they're not kidding. She was rather upset they wouldn't stop, though. So now I make sure I hold onto things extra-well on KS.

Here's an idea .,,, Don't get into the log.

:cool1:

How would I know I hate it if I didn't try it?:sad2: I thought it was just a ride with a drop at the end but there a 3 or 4 times they trick you into thinking its about to drop and then it just goes down a small hill and then into another room. I hated the anticipation but the rest of the ride was kind of cute. Thanks Karnak for the kind words.

My sister in law told me about an incident she witnessed at Disneyland several years ago. Several ladies were in one of the canoes that used to go out to Tom Sawyer Island. Apparently, the canoe was overloaded weight-wise and it tipped over. One of the ladies couldn't swim and started screaming and thrashing in the water (which isn't very deep). The canoe captain had to drag her to shore. They led the wet ladies off somewhere, gave them robes and put their clothes in a dryer. My sister in law was there with a convention that these ladies were also part of so she was able to get the inside story.

I also witnessed a kid jump off of an IASW boat onto a platform within the ride, He was on the ride with other kids the oldest was probably 11 or 12. I was freaking out thinking he would get hurt, he then jumped into an empty boat. At the end of the ride CMs started having a talk with him and his friends. I am soooo paranoid when getting on and off of boats/ramps at WDW lol (especially where you board BTMR and goofy's barnstormer)

Good grief! I only meant to be joking. Lighten up and get a life.

I've never seen so many people get uptight about nothing in my life as they do on this site.

:confused3

Splash Mountain is my favorite ride and I am a big guy. The only thing that ever scares me is that once I am at the top of the mountain the back would flip first....sort of head over tail....I don't think that could ever happen though.
