I've been checking mousesavers... it's still got the 1/26 info on the front page...

dtest,

Good morning. Your checking the right source because in the past Mary has know about codes sometimes before they are even released.

Good luck and I hope something does come out.

but if we got a confirmation from Disney and it's on the website reservation system do you still think there is a chance Disney will be calling me about not honoring it. I thought once we got the confirmation we would be all set? They would inform obviously before we arrived there right?:)

Just wondering.....this is a definate upgrade for us, but staying at POR would be fine too if this gets messed up.:)

Updated the original post with a link to Disboard user Lucinia's blog...

Enjoy.

Has anyone been able to use the room-only code for just 1 night? Or is it a 3 night minimum?

I really am thinking of switching from a MOd to either WL or AK. I'm afraid if I call and ask for our code, they will say sorry, invalid and also cancel my exsisting reservation at the MOD. Has anyone changed hotels or inquired recently? Just wondering.

I switched this AM from CR to GF. I just called and asked to check the price (never mentioning the code again). The quote I was given included the code already. HTH!!!!

For those that are worried about using the code without a PIN....

Back in the winter of 2005 right about the time Disney stopped issuing general public codes just about every month, the same situation arose.

Many people here on the Dis were posting about receiving email/snail mail codes & PIN #'s.

Many people had trips planned for the summer of 2005 & were hoping for those general public codes as Disney had issued in the months previous, i.e. stay for 4 play for 3 in the summer of 2004.

Then out of nowhere, Mary from Mousesavers posted that it looked like Disney was going to stop issuing these public codes & only send out codes with PIN #'s via email & snail mail as travel was UP & there was no need for them to issue the public codes anymore.

Well needless to say, those of us who were not lucky enough to get the PIN#'s were frantic. Especially when reading ALL the posts of those lucky people who did receive the PIN#'s.

I for one was GLUED to these boards hoping & praying for a general code. Upon my reading of every thread associated with codes, I stumbled upon the actual 3 letter code that was asscioted with the PIN. I of course was not entitled to use this 3 letter code because I did not have the PIN associated with my name, but I thought what the heck I will try...

After several attepmts I was finally able to use this code without the PIN & reserved the CR for $189.00 per night!!!!!

I was very nervous this offer would be revoked due to not having the PIN, especially when I received a call from Disney a few weeks prior to my trip.

My heart stopped & I was waiting to hear them tell me what I did was wrong, when all of a sudden they were telling me I was receiving an uprade to the POLY due to construction at the CR for the same rate of $189.00 per night!!

Now that trip was a year & 1/2 ago & I am not saying that just because the offer wasn't revoked from me it won't be from you, however, I just thought I would put your mind at ease a little....

I just spent over an hour in the AAA travel office having them check prices many different ways. When they checked with the XXX code(and trust me I was feeling guilty) the CM could pull up the code but could not price it out. I thought for sure I was shot down and then the CM put the agent on hold for a long time. My 2 year old had time to empty a brochure holder, color a picture and eat 3 cookies and touch each and everything sitting on the desk. Anyway, the CM came back and said wel you can use code XXX that was sent out to AAA. My agent had never recieved it but when we applied it the price was the same as the 40% package. Needless to say I took it on the spot and when I left the agent was talking about taking a trip.:yay:

I just got off the phone with my aaa agent, and was told no, I could not use the code. :confused3

Me too. That is 9 times I have called in 6 days. I have gotten quite professional and assertive-sounding, in my calling abilities. Just wish the hold time wasn't so long.

So do you just keep calling until you find a reservation person that will accept the code? I just got off the phone with them, wanted to reserve Pop Century from 12/12-12/19. Reg rate is $82, gave her the B** code and she quoted me a rate of $49. I told her to go ahead and book it. After she told me about the ticket and dining packages, I told her I just wanted to stick with the room only. At that point she told me she had to check on the code, put me on hold for almost five minutes, and came back to tell me my household did not qualify to use that code! UGH. I said thanks and told her we would have to stay off site then.

So, should I keep calling or what?

I did the same thing--with no problems. Got a great rate at POP & took it. But I had asked for an AKL quote, just for the heck of it. I sat in front of my computer for about a 1/2 hour debating. I finally called & spoke with a totally different CM who helped me switch with NO problems!

I even called back a 3rd time to switch from pool view w/bunks to Savannah view w/bunks! Still at a great 40% savings!

Nevermind! I DID IT!! I DID IT! I just called Disney reservations back, got a different person, chatted her up and joked around with her, and after she quoted me a rate of $82/night at Pop Century I just casually said "I have a code - could you please check to see if I can apply it to that room?" She looked it up, at first said it wasn't good during those dates, then she checked again and applied the code on the spot. $49/night. Booked it for 8 nights and got my confirmation number! Persistence pays off! Yeah!

:thumbsup2 Congratulations!

Since there is so much confusion about this.. I figured I'd try to put all of what we know in one place.

...
Should you book the code and have a wonderful vacation - congrats! But consider yourself warned.

Could someone give me a clue as to what email address these offers might come from? My spam numbers in the thousands daily (yes, thousands) and I would hate to find out I am tossing these offers. Any suggestion as to emails address(es) I can filter would be a great help.

I am NOT asking for the code, only an idea of what to look for.

Thanks so much!

Laurie
